Shoe Box Swap Night...

This past week has been different to say the least. My DH has been home on vacation working on our new driveway and the girls are out of school. Such a huge difference to go from just myself and our 2yr old to everyone home all day this week. I did manage to get to a shoebox swap on Wednesday night here are the cards that we made...

Barb had this card ready to go for us. I love the color combo and the card fold, this was a fun card to make...

Bonnie had this cute image from "Penny Black", I so love the celery DP this is a really image and card...

Amy had prepared this card, love all the bright colors of the flowers. On her sample she had a wave going with the flowers and it matched up with the "curvy verses" so nice. (I did not get the wave effect as I stamped out my flowers, going to have to try this layout again.)

My Sister came by this week with two huge stacks of Magazines, I can't wait to find some new ideas to share.

How sweet of you to do a RAK. My favorite colors are orange and purple, so naturally my fave PTI color combo is the Summer Sunrise paired with the Lavender Moon. I can't get enough of it!

PaperTrey Ink May Blog Hop

*May Blog Hop Challenge from Nichole Heady...
"I have recently fallen in love with adding score lines as accents to my projects. What I love about this
method of embellishing is that it is quick, easy & matches everything! Your challenge this month is
utilize score lines in a creative way as a decorative accent to any type pf project. I look forward to
seeing all of your results!!!"

Indeed this is a quick and easy way to embellish a project especially when used in combination with CuttleBug Embossing folders. This happens to be my favorite way to use the score lines at this time. On this card the cupcake from "it's A Celebration" was punched out using a 1" circle punch and is mounted inside the card. Next I took a 1 1/4" circle punch to make a window on the front of the card. This is a very quick and easy card style to make...

Below is a Sneak Peak of the GSS "Guest Star Stamper for PaperTrey Ink. project I have completed for this month's challenge of Best Baby Gift. The score lines were used here again to accent the DP strip...

Just in the "Mick of Time"...

It was our Friends DD's birthday on the 19th, she had her party on Saturday. Most of you know I have been impatiently waiting for my PTI order to arrive well this is why. I had this scrapbook in my head I wanted to make for her and was able to pull it off in the "Mick of Time". Mick is a nickname for McKayla, her mom uses it the most I prefer to call her McKayla, such a pretty name. After calling UPS on Friday and not being able to have the box held I had to wait for delivery on Monday, ARGH! I was able to present it to her on Monday night so all is well in the end and the best part is she loved it! Turns out it was a good thing she got the gift on her actual birthday and not on Saturday, funny how things work isn't it?

I love the Pretty Pink Prints and just thought it would go so well with my fave photos of her. On this page you can see a card envelope, this will be a great place for her to put all of those birthday cards. (To make the card envelope I had to first stick the envelope closed then cut down to the 8" length. I put it through the BIA after I had the front decorated and punched it on the non flap side. Now she can slide the cards in from the top and they will be secure.)

SPSB2 Baby Toys

Here is my layout challenge completed. I used our youngest DD playing in her fave toys her first year of life. The other two were jealous and thought she had a ton of toys so they made her a crown to wear out of all her baby wrist rattles and dubbed her "the Queen of Toys". So who's room can't we get into because of all the toys (hint it is not our youngest) LOL! These mosaic frames were fun to make and I used one of my fave color combos of Tempting Turquoise and Green Galore, love it even more mounted on the black.

Mosaic Frames How To...
1. Cut up scraps of your fave colors all sizes
2. Adhere to Basic Black Card Stock Rectangle
3. Remove Center
4. Adhere your selected photos to the back of your frame

What a wonderful way to use up some scraps.

Clearly Amazing...

When I received my newsletter in the mail this month from Archivers I was so excited to see the Acrylic Album Workshop, I totally loved the look of the album. There is one slight problem with the picture the closest store is Omaha. Well, I called them up to see if I could purchase the kit (is not made as a kit) so I asked if I could purchase the supplies and it could be mailed out and this plan was a go. I placed my order, (I had to pay the shipping fees) and here are the results...
This is the Clear Cover package from Zutter, both pieces come with protective plastic do not remove until you have punched your covers but before you scrap them.

Here is the cover of my album, close to the Workshop Album but not the same...

Here is a photo of a two page spread in the album...

This Clear Acrylic Album was made for a Clearly Amazing Girl in our lives. She is our DD's BFF, and a fellow Motherless Daughter. Her mother passed away when she was about 9, she now lives with her Father and younger sister here in town. She is strong, smart, well adjusted and down right amazing. She cares for her sister and her home on a daily basis and still finds the time to be a teenager and friend to our DD. This photo album was from a trip we took where she came along with our family and it is made for her as a memento.

Embrace Life

I do not own this stamp set it is a WRAK image from SCS. However, I did have a wonderful time playing around with the images and even coloring this was not so bad. I took some time with this card and cut out the images and used some dimensional dots. The scallop side is made using punched circles, love the look!

What product do you use to blend when coloring your images? For me I usually color with my smooshed ink pad lid and a blender pen.

Craft Journal

I showed you last week my Creative Journal for PTI Today I am showing you how I store my craft ideas that I find. Mostly this journal is for the ideas I find on TV, my DH has expressed how tired he is of me taking up room on the DVR with craft shows. So I have gone and revisited them, wrote down some directions and took a photo of the TV screen that shows the project. Then on my laptop I have files for each TV show that coordinates with the numbers in my journal, makes it really easy for me to find the project I wish to work with.

Here are some links on the web to some of the craft shows I find worth while to DVR...
