Happy Birthday DD...

Today is the big day for our oldest DD she turns 13, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Let it snow...

Some snow or rain is headed to our area for the weekend so I thought this would be the perfect compliment for the changing seasons....

These mini note books are made by Wanda at "My Creative Corner" and they measure 2.5" by 2.5". She did a post awhile back called Snowman Notebooks and I knew then that I just had to have the snowman image so yesterday peebsmama from SCS came through for me and sitting in my mail was a full envie of Merry and Bright Snowmen from SU. (How cool is that, no pun intended, LOL)!

I used my blender pen with ballet blue and blue bliss SU inks to color the snowman then I put some clear stickles on his hat. He was punched out and mounted on a circle of bliss blue. I mounted the circles to the note book with redline tape because I first ran the background through the embossing folder snowflakes and sometimes my Scotch brad double stick tape does not adhere well to embossed card stock. To finish it off a tad of blue GG tied to one of the spirals.

Stamping on tile video...

I have had lots of interest in stamping on tiles since I did my project last week. Today while surfing I found this video that shows some different ways to to the tiles. It is worth watching, enjoy.

Kick it up a notch...

I gave this set back to my Sister, it lived here for a very long time and I used it a ton. From cards to doing my DD's bedroom walls etc. I have been putting packages of cards together for the girls to take to the nursing home on Wednesday, the residents love visitors and they will get a kick out of seeing the girls in Halloween costumes. Anyway some of the cards need some reworking and this was one of them it was originally on just a white card, I removed the focal image and cuttlebugged a background and then replaced the image, I like it so much more. My idea was to give the card a modern look and I thought the Traffic Jam embossing folder did just that.

Sunday was spent working on coasters getting all of the paper glued down and drying. It was so relaxing just painting on glue so I did up all of the coasters I had. (The SU DP's worked great, but I see this AM that some of the papers used from the Target Dollar Spot did not hold up so well and some of them discolored.) Now this week I will be able to assemble some coaster projects for the benefit and for Christmas gifts.

Please read the Danielle Duus Benefit post below this one to be entered in the blog candy you will need to send something for the sale or a card for Danielle.

Have a great day,

Piece of Cake by Paper Trey...

I sent this card in for the WCMD digital contest at Paper Trey however, at the time it was not finished I wanted to include the white flowers from the stamp set. To finish this card I ended up using the flowers from Little Lady set and white Staz-on. I do not make many cards in this style but I really had fun with this one. You can go here to see my gallery of contest submissions along with other wonderful ideas.

Soak it up part 2...

I have had a few questions about my tile project from Monday's post here are some answers for you...

The tiles I purchased are from Lowes
Name: Angora Noce
bar code: #8020841132328

I have had no problem with ink releasing from this tile (no smearing, running or color residue on the towel I wipe it down with). I used Black and Pumpkin staz-on ink.

Not really sure if the stone actually soaks up the water however, there is no runoff from the tile to the counter.

Hope this helps they sure are fun to make let me see what you create by email at paschal.sara@gmail.com

I went to take photos for you but the batteries need charging, turns out they were used in my DD's bubble machiene, nice.

Soak it up...

I have always enjoyed stamping on tiles so when we were checking into kitchen cabinets this past week I pick up four of them at Lowes.
I used black staz-on with French Script for the back ground and I used Pumpkin Staz-on with the Hero Arts Maple Leaf stamp.
I need to put some felt pads on the back then they will be ready to use.

Our kitchen is not so lucky still looks like the first of the year before we can afford to finish it and that is if I stain the cupboards myself. Should be fun, I can not wait to have just one kitchen and be organized and get back to enjoying cooking again.

Have a great stamp day!

A Big day...

My DH and I have been married for thirteen years today, what a great day to celebrate! We are going to my Dad's for supper, they leave on Monday for Arizona so we are having a small get together. Other than that I have a new Van, he bought me a 2007 Caravan, Black with grey interior. He first brought home a Dodge Magnum and I cried all night, I hated it really passionately hated it could not see myself driving it for the next five years but our dealership was kind enough to let us pick another, thank goodness. To me this car was a grocery getter souped up to look like a funeral car and the space shuttle. You can see a photo of one here when you click this link, Dodge Magnum
Here is where you can see what my new Van looks like Dodge Caravan.
Have not had much time to stamp this week between having my DH home because of all the rain to meetings etc. By the way I am officially the Vice Chair for the Governing board for the Community Health Clinic, what an honor for me.
Have a great weekend,
Sara

Cheers...

Gotta love Stamping Bella she is so much fun, this stamp is pompomabella. The girls are in a mail day swap on SCS so I thought these would be fun to send out to the star of the week, (for girls I really need to get working on some cute boy cards as well).
I broke out my DCWV glitter stack for the DP and used yo yo yellow, green galore and tempting turquoise. Bella was colored with a blender pen and ink pads and I used some stickles on her pom poms and bows and some flower brads to complete the card.
Have a great day!

Merry and Bright by Lizze Anne Designs...

I now have my first set in hand from Lizzie Anne Designs and it is called Merry and Bright and have been having a wonderful time playing with this one. It is my first cling mounted stamp set and I have to tell you I have pulled the cling off of one of the ornaments, Oops! (Are you sure about teaching a dog tricks thingy?) But the more I worked with them the better they stuck to the block and the less aggravated I became. This company does have an Angel policy in place so that means I will in the future be purchasing more of Lizzie Anne Designs images. When you follow the above link it will take you to their web page and you can learn more about the company.

This is the second card I made with this set and I actually broke into my embossing bucket again. It has not seen the light of day for a long time and within the past few days I can't seem to get the lid back on. Anyway, I used SU gold glory embossing powder with versamark. Then I colored in the image with a blender pen and ink pads in rose and moss.

This is actually the first card I made with the set I like the card not the color choice I used, but I posted it so you could see the layout it is similar to the card I saw that brought my attention to this set.

My Hubby is home for a few days because of all the rain we have been having so I will have a helper on board to watch our little one and possibly get more cards made.
Have a great day!

Do you smell that?

My house is totally filled with the scent of fall this A.M. I cleaned and baked up some squash a neighbor brought over last week and I was working on my swap cards at the same time. Every time I embossed the pumpkins it smelled like pumpkin pie, wanna know why? I put some pumpkin pie spice in the clear embossing powder, go on try it the aroma is lovely. The stamp sets used to make this card were Baroque Motifs from Stampin' Up and Spooky Sweets from Paper Trey and the colors of the card are Only Orange and Always Artichoke.

Okay, so if you were on to read my post from last nights events I do need to clarify my thoughts at this time. I was just so very frustrated, all of the work up all of the hype for over a week at Paper Trey and at game time no one knew how to play. I am referring to the web site crashing on reveal day and the fact that my fave stamp of the trio was not going to be released last night do to a typo that made it all the way through production of the set. I was reading this A.M. some other blogs and I am obviously not the only customer, (yes you can't forget that I am a customer of Paper Trey) that is unsatisfied with the events and I am happy for those lucky ones who were able to get what they longed for. Not that I am saying I am the best speller or have correct grammar far from it but I also do not run a popular Internet site that involves consumers and a bottom line.

Have a nice day and make sure you check out the new releases over at Paper Trey the site is working this A.M.

Criss Cross Paper Trey....

Here is another card I made using the Eat Cake Digital card kit designed by Nichole Heady of Paper Trey. Follow this link to the sneak peak of what the matching stamp set Eat Cake can do, remember it goes on sale at Midnight Sunday at Paper Trey Inc.

The colors I used for this card were temp. turquoise, celery, white and the paper from digi kit. I ran the card stock through the CB folder divine swirls, and placed some bling brads from Hobby Lobby on the band. (IRL these brads are an exact match to the colors I used they just did not photograph right.)

SCS Sketch Challenge using Spiral Bouquet Boutique...

An early post for Thursday...

Here is another card using Paper Trey Digi images from the Spiral Bouquet Boutique set. You can download this Digi file here FOR FREE Spiral Bouquet Boutique

This set has been my fave to work with so far, possibly because my ultimate favorite color is green also the images are great for this time of year and it would be easy to make a man card from this as well. You can see the printed out stripe paper under my card stand, isn't it yummy! I am going to be making a ton of beaded pens with this paper at my last craft fair the stripe pens sold really well.

So to make this card you will need to download the listed file and cut your paper put on some ribbon and you are done. To follow the sketch I played around on my scrapbook program to get a border of images to show on the right hand side of the card and this was printed directly onto my final card all the other pieces were cut out and taped on.

If you wish to see a preview a little teaser of what the stamp set is going to be like before the release on 10/15 you can go here and check out what Nichole from Paper Trey has been working on.

Reminders:

Merry Bella...

I have been working on some Christmas Card ideas and I just love this stamp from Stamping Bella called Merry Bella. The colors I used are Wassabi, real red and white. I ran the white card front through the traffic jam embossing folder after I stamped a sentiment on the front from SU's Merry Moments stamp set. Bella herself was colored with a blender pen and regular SU ink pads I placed some stickles randomly on the Christmas tree then on the trim of her outfit. I am having so much fun with these Genie bags, I am going to make up a ton of them everyone who knows me knows I do not know how to wrap a good present.

Just a reminder to leave a comment on the blog candy post found here to get registered to win some great stuff.

Monroe Park Dedication...

As many of you know from previous posts a new park was constructed earlier this summer and was officially dedicated to Coty's Memory today. What a fun celebration for the community there was face and pumpkin painting, karaoke, kids games, hay rides, Fire Truck Rides and can't for get the Food. Today though is a day to remember Coty and his class (DD's 7th grade class) was there to help with the planning and the dedication. A new sign was revealed and balloons were released in the park, because of the weather the other festivities were held inside.

Here it is...

Another True Friend Card with Apple Cider Paper and BOHO Wheel, gotta love this stuff. My Sister is coming to stamp today so be checking back for some awesome new ideas.

This photo is of our DD after she placed her paw in the patio, don't worry all of the girls did this. Now that it is dried and cleaned up I will get a photo posted for you.
The Dr. Called yesterday, never a good thing when they call is it. My blood test came back and I guess I all ready was in the know of what she had to say. I have not been able to move gracefully for a while now because of my back but when my hips started to hurt out of the blue I knew one of two things my back is getting worse and pinching off a nerve or arthritis. It is partially the later she can't tell me what type it is RA or otherwise possibly even Lupus, she left it up to me for further testing. (With no insurance probably won't do much at this time it is expensive and not covered at the clinic I use.) Either way she said most of it is treated the same way so I will keep using Celebrex and taking Glucosamine and my multi vitamins and plug away at with things I know I can do ie: stamping, eating chocolate, watching tv and trying to keep pace with our littlest DD (this is starting to get challenging.)
Happy stamp day!

All Spiked up for Halloween...

Well my oldest DD does not want to take treats to school for her BD or Halloween this year she laughed when I asked her. She had a really funny response something like your little girl is growing up can't you see that, I will only pass out some gum and some Clifford stickers, lol! She said this as a joke response to me but I am on the lookout for Clifford stickers as a joke for her to hand out since that is her nickname, should be funny.
Our other DD requested the ones she wanted to hand out in class and I made some to pass out at the house. About 60 gel packs later this is what I had...

To make these you will need clear hair gel, and some plastic confetti. I found the confetti down the party isle of our Lewis store it is made by American Greetings. And the plastic baggies were purchased at Hobby Lobby they are the smallest size that they carry. So what you do is put in a quarter size amount of gel put in the floaters, (or leave plain) push the air bubbles to the top and then seal up the bag. I had all my paper cut and punched before I started putting on the gel packets this went really fast. So after you have your card stock mounted use double stick tape to put your baggie on the back, then center your image so it shows correctly through the punched holes then place your back on. I put some on card fronts and the others that we are going to hand out were just left as you see them in the top picture. I used stamped images from WRAK mostly Amuse but the SU booglie eyes and Batty for you work really well here also.
So make a few and spike up your Halloween.
