Summer Bummer (Request for greetings) Re-posting

Just moving this to the top for a few days, she would love some happy mail. Thanks, Sara

My DD found out on Monday that for the next thirty days she will need to wear this immobilizing brace, she is so destroyed over the fact. We found out a few years ago that all of her knee pain was caused by Osgood-Schlatter Disease disease, she is just growing too fast basically and her bones need to catch up. Well this past Basketball season she had a fall and what happened was when the tendons pulled away from the knee they fractured a small piece of bone off with it. She kept telling us the pain was getting worse make me an appointment so we finally got in to the specialist and this is how she is going to have to spend the next month. When she found out that her first season of Volleyball was not going to happen I thought she was going to cry. She has also been looking forward to our Church trip to the cities now she said she does not want to go. I just feel so bad for her she is so active (that is a big part of the problem with this disease) to be reduced to doing almost nothing is extremely hard on her at this time in her life when she is growing up to a teenager it is not easy. So as her Mother I am asking all of you that can to send her some cheer up wishes, she is so excited when I get fun things in the mail, this will surly make her time move faster. Thank you so much you can send your cheer up wishes to
my DD at the following address:
Donna Paschal
151 North Street East
Monroe, SD 57047
Thank you in advance for all of your kindness.

Divine Flowers

My Sister came across these stamps at a garage sale they are by "Judith" she is from Minnesota and that is about all I know about this set of stamps. I think there was a total of 15 stamps in the package. I was playing with some retired colors yesterday, I loved these so (Forrest Foliage and Eggplant Envy). My Sis also found some retired papers so I used them both here as well. I need to start following her to Garage Sales, she seems to always find the good craft stuff. I added a flower clip and used my ticket corner punch for some added detail and I embossed the background with the Divine Swirl CB folder. I love the outcome.

I am waiting for some new stuff to arrive and so I am going through some unfinished cards and finished cards and cleaning them up. I came across these yesterday and I laughed so hard, these are probably three to four years old. (It is frightening to look back and see where you have been.) Okay, so I took some time and took these cards apart and tried again so here they are redone years later....

What a busy weekend along with the Birthday Celebration for the Wish Rak group I also worked on some craft show items. I decided I am going to try another run this season, now that I am getting the Rubicoil this is going to be great!! Anyhow I used up all of my red tacky tape sheets that I purchased at Archivers in May, BOO HOO! Good thing we are going to the cities in July, I will be getting more then. (Can't find it in our area if you know the hiding place for this stuff please send me an email.) So ten pens and six lip balms later I had a great start. Here is what I learned after the fact... I could have used my Xyron to put the Designer paper on the pen that would have saved me tacky tape and I could have had 10 more pens and six more lip balms out of the three sheets that I purchased. Oh well I know now for the next time.
I used Recollections Designer paper from SU and Making Memories paper from Michaels to complete the projects

I Played along

This weekend marked the one year Anniversary of the Wish RAK forum on SCS. To celebrate on Friday and Saturday they had special challenges going on every hour a new one was posted. The goal was to use images or something received from wish RAK. I played along with a few challenges you can take this link to my gallery justtieszen and see all of the cards that I posted for the event. I will show you a couple of faves here...
The first photo is of a photo magnet notebook holder made using the Sassy Stems set (I received these stamped images from wish RAK). The paper is from Making Memories, I used the Orchid Opulence marker to color the flowers and water color pencils to do the vase. I used some rhinestones for bling, they are mounted to the outside of the plastic.
For the card I used inspiration from the blue floral card swap in a previous post. Orchid Opulence paper, marker and SU GG ribbon was used in the making of this card. Also paper from Making Memories.

Blue floral Swap cards have arrived!

Wow, all of these cards are great I am going to be kept busy CASE-ing them. The first one I have cased is the top card by MaryPack, I will post my card with in the next few days I made it for Wish RAK Birthday Celebration WRSMO7B.
The next card was made by N. Sansoni, I love this set I know my Sister has it, guess I need to ask for another set to use.
I love the colors of this card made by Littlekel90, she hosted two swaps I was in earlier this year and is a wonderful Lady and makes Awesome cards.
I am not sure who made the Bird card with circle (If it is you please let me know so I can post). I love this card sketch I am going to definitely give it a try.
You guys aren't going to like this but I am going to case the Happy Harmony Sympathy card by Melissa Lance, how many cards can one person make with this set anyhow???
Next is the flower made with oval punches not sure the maker of this one either please notify me. I love it, going to have to purchase some of these punches this makes a cute card.
The final card was made by twyant I am going to have to look her up on this one to see how it was made. IRL this is gorgeous but looks complicated hopefully I can get- R -done.
Thanks to all for a wonderful swap.

Happy Belated Birthday to Me!

I was in town on Thursday and I saw my Sister Cathy at my Dad's house she delivered my birthday gift WOW! A ton of scrapbook supplies from Creative Memories in my fave color GREEN and some beautiful shimmer card stock and a new scrapbook, this is heaven indeed. Thank you!
I also had my first board meeting for Sioux Falls Health Department and the Governing Board for the Community Health Clinic. I was appointed to a three year term and could not be more excited about it. (A chance to make health care better for my family and the community who wouldn't say yes!) A few months ago after I came back from a DR. appointment the phone was ringing it was the clinic and my Dr. wanted to know if I was interested in the position, how often does that happen?

A grove of trees

I have been wanting to CASE this card for months now and I need a BD card for my Nephew so I thought what a great time to try it. I used mellow moss in the end I had birthday, sympathy and thank you cards all ready to go. This is the only stamp set I now have that is not leaving, WAHAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! Here is the link back to the original card I saw on SCS by craftcrazy98.

I did change the colors I used white and real red. I also used SU check ribbon and for the bug train instead of stamping the image I pierced it. For the sentiment I used curvy verses.

SC01 revisited

This weekend I worked on revisiting some of SCS Sketch Challenges this is SC01. The Simply Said flowers are stamped in Temp. Turquoise and mounted on a panel of gable green. The centers on the Prima flowers are brads and they are put on the card with glue dots. I love the color combo of this card.

One more reason to smile

I just adore this set I have a couple more to show you but this one was sent out last week as a RAK card. The images were stamped in Regal Rose and layered with so saffron and regal rose card stock. The card itself was from the card box I received for my birthday. The tag has the small word window punch with a bling rhinestone in the center.

SCS LSC120 Challenge

Yesterdays challenge on SCS was called Patriotic style. I had in my file from years past the top card God Bless America. It was made by cutting out triangles to be different sizes, this takes some practice but I love the visual effect. Then I used the star wheel with white ink to make the background. It has been so long since I made this card I can't even remember the one color of blue but I believe it to be Brocade Blue. Now for yesterdays challenge you were supposed to make a Patriotic style card but use a different style ie. Birthday, flowers anything but flags, fireworks etc. So I came up with this simply said stamped in blue colored with real red and sprinkled with glitter. I really like how this came out! I did not have a wheel I wanted to use with the card and no craft white pad so for the challenge I left the background plain if I had the ink I would have put the small flower out of the set in white.

Another Reason to Smile

I have been playing with this set for a few days now and I really love it. I made some of these cards to send out for Raks. This one was stamped with Real Red and layered with Real Red Card Stock. SU's Check ribbon in red was also used. I wish to thank my DSS for all the ribbon she has sent, I am totally in ribbon heaven, have never had such a choice of color, thank you!

Cuttle Bug Swap Cards Due 6/1 Received

I love doing swaps and checking out what other people are doing with my favorite things and this week I received my swaps from the Cuttle bug due 6/1 (these cards were not marked so I can't give credit but keep in mind when swapping people love to see the backs as well and who made the cards so please take time to identify yourself when swapping so others can thank you or give you credits.) On my card backs I place an address label Avery 8160 that contains all of my info so people know who the card was from and who they can ask about how it was made etc. OK, enough all ready here they are... the top card with simply said I just have to remake I love it, love it, love it!

I borrowed the Simply Said set from a friend because of a swap card I just had to recreate then I thought it would be perfect to use for the SCS Sketch challenge this week. So the card is Cranberry Crisp with Recollections paper (my fave totally hope it is not going). The image was stamped in C. C. and mounted on mellow moss and chocolate chip card stock. Su ribbon was also used. For the small notebook same colors were used and for extra detail I used the ticket corner punch (another fave)!

A birthday gift for L.

I made this Card Keeper and Magnet a few weeks ago but could not publish 'til I was sure L. received her Birthday Present. She called yesterday and thanked me for the gift, L. is my College Roomie (won't tell you how long ago it actually was, ha ha ha). To make this set I used SU Shapes and Shadows and stuck with Purple as my main color, Orchid Opulence was the color most prominent the other papers were from a stamp stack not sure of the colors but the SU inks matched well. I also used Die cut flowers from the Cuttlebug die Asterisks.

Father's Day Mileage Notebook

When I saw this Mileage notebook on My Creative Corner I just knew it would be the perfect gift for my Father. He is a Snow Bird and has always tracked mileage, how perfect could you get. So Classic Pickups was a must have set before it goes bye bye, never thought I would like a set like this 'til I saw what was made with it now I it is another set I can't seem to put down.

Here is my version of the mileage notebook and how I made it. The Notebook was purchased from My Creative Corner she is really good with these and they ship fast you need to give them a try it measured 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 I altered it down to 4 1/4 to 5 1/4 to fit the document I printed out. On the cover I cut Chocolate Chip then Artichoke and a strip of Not Quite Navy, the Classic Pickup is stamped in chocolate Chip and mounted on colored Card stock the sentiment is also stamped in C.C.. (The Ribbon was from my Sister and I am not sure of the name.)
For the inside I modified a program in Microsoft works and then I made a center pocket out of C.C. card stock (like the Card Keeper pocket, smaller version) and again used Artichoke to mount a second layer. I stamped another classic pickup in C.C. and mounted in on colored card stock added the sentiment and ribbon and the pocket was done ready to hold all of the gas receipts.
This was a notebook that I took apart so I put back in some of the paper and stamped them in the lower right hand corner with the sentiment then stacked up the paper and put it back together. Wala I have my Father's day gift ready to go, I also plan on putting a Gas Card in the front cover.

Reason to Smile

Well my special day has come and gone and I spent it playing with my new toys. My husband picked out this cardstock and card box for me, I love it the paper is textured and very heavy, NICE, it will be great for Card Keepers. I also had happy mail yesterday I entered and won some blog candy and the SU set Reason to Smile was part of the contest. I combined these two new toys and came up with some very cool cards and this is one of them. The butterfly was stamped in Ballet Blue and mounted with BB card stock, reson to smile was also stamped in BB on so saffron card stock, aside from the Blue strips the rest is card stock from the pad and a card from the box of cards. (This is another layout I am stuck on lately and I love it!)
No Rubicoil yet but I have been promised one, I will keep you informed.

Mission Completion

We put the finishing touches on the Monroe park Wednesday. Look at all the happy children, such a wonderful gift for the town of Monroe. (This is the only hang out around for small children.) The next closest town is five miles away, don't you just love small town USA. My next project is to take all the photos and make a slide show DVD for all those who would like one this takes a bit but I can work on my patience using the program I have. (HA HA HA!)

Sister Stamp Day Card

This is another card we worked on Friday, this Stamp set just seems to keep getting used, I did hold to my promise and put it away for a week or so. I am not sure of the colors we used here, my Sister has all the Soft Subtles and she is always gracious and brings them along. We used the stylized flowers embossing folder once again as well. I love this layout it makes many nice cards.
