Little Lady Bag and Notepad

Warning...the photo you are about to see STINKS!! DH returned my new camera that started to go crazy and I have not been to town to replace it yet. I had our DD dig up my first digital camera and this was the result. I think it was a 3mp camera, sure did not take great pics. Anyhow, here it is, keep in mind IRL this is stnkin' cute.

The bag was made on the Cricut Expression using the Doodle charm and George Cartridges and Design Studio Software. I am working on the cut file as soon as it is fit to share I will share with you, I have to work out a few kinks and make sure everything fits better yet.

The Notepad was made with Doodle charm cartridge and padding compound. You cut the ladybug cover using the shadow mode, the paper inside is cut using the blackout mode on printer paper.

Bracelet made with various beads, the ladybug was from Oriental Trading it is a glass bead and so very cute. When I make little girl bracelets like this one I always use a double crimp bead on each end.

Product list...
PTI card stock Pure Poppy and True black
Hobby Lobby black card stock paper for the bag
Cricut Expression
Cricut doodle charms
Cricut George and Basic Shapes
Cricut Design Studio
Padding Compound
Printer Paper
Google Eyes
Various Beads
Beading Wire
Toggle Clasp

I love ladybugs but here in SD we have had a population boom with the Asian Beetle, they are more orange then a ladybug, they stain when you squash them, they bite, stink and are an all around nuisance. So they really make me adore the Little Lady, the true Lady Bug.

Divine "CRAP"

I can't believe the week has gone by so fast, we have been fighting off a very nasty virus this week. No one has been immune and I went out and purchased some bleach to wipe things down. Vinegar and Soda does clean well and it has worked since little J's incident last fall but sometimes you just need to use good old bleach. We are on the upside now and looking forward to a warm sunny weekend.

A good stampin' friend of mine coined the phrase of "crap" and "Crap Box" for scrap box crafting. You have to see her wonderful blog {here,} she it totally funny and makes some great "Crap" ;) So in honor of my friend here is some of my divine "Crap". I used the acetate box that your PTI stamps arrive in and made a cute birthday bag with a matching card. All of the balloons were made from my "crap"box? LOL, I just can't get enough.

PTI March Blog Hop...Backgrounds

March Blog Hop from PTI...

Background building sets have rapidly become one of Papertrey's signature traits. For this month's Blog Hop, we want to see all of your very best backgrounds. They can be multi-colored or monochromatic. Simple or elegantly detailed. They can be created with a set originated for that purpose or a reinvention of images that were not. Be sure to include a separate photo of your completed background BEFORE
you add it to your project so we can see it in all its glory!

For my project today I used the Acetate Tissue background. To to this I cut a piece of acetate the size of a card front, then on the back I put down a layer of lacquer, on top of that layer dots of reinker in Noir and Fresh Snow. You move this around on the acetate then put a crumpled layer of Tissue Paper over the ink. (USE Gloves for this process.) When that was dry I embossed the Damask on the opposite side in Red.

Head Pins and Cards...

Sorry for the late post our little one has been sick the past couple of days. Here is a snapshot of my workspace while I was making some cards with head pins...

Head Pin tutorial
1) Purchase 2" jewelry headpins found at Hobby Lobby made by Jewelry Shoppe
2) Purchase Beads to match your projects
3) You will need some good adhesive or crimp beads (found by the head pins)
4) Small dab of glue under the top of the head pin
5) Thread on your first bead, hold in place a few seconds (if you are using adhesive)
6) Continue to bead and glue til you have your desired ammount on the head pin
7) Weave your finished head pin through your bow knot on your creation
**the best part about using the head pin is they have a blunt point**

I masked the little row of tulips to get some behind the other. Notice no bling or bumps on this card. I made up a bunch of these for the Nursing home, it is so much easier for them to mail if they can just use one stamp.

Happy Monday, here is the color challenge for the week, I will edit later this AM with my card.

Beautiful Buttons

ON our swap thread over at SCS there has been some talk about the new buttons arriving this week. It was said the black ones are not as mixed and the other buttons and have more x-large buttons not enough small (infact my bag did not have one of the smaller size in it). As you can see by the photos I would have to agree. In combination these two colors Black and HB are beautiful, love them.

Wise Owl and Little Lady go to Hawaii

{Jen} is hosting the CMWC over on PTI this week, you can find the challenge {here}. Her challenge is to use a stamp in a way that is not intended. So I was wishing my PTI order came in on Wed but alas it did not so plan b was to use Little Lady and make a dress and shoes for Wise Owl. This is what I came up with...

The large lady bug body I traced onto the Raspberry Fizz DP and cut out. At first I wanted to use the bumps as (well you know) but then wise owl was out of proportion so I just cut a straight line. The small lady bug body was stamped off with Raspberry Fizz ink then cut in half to make the slip on shoes for wise owl. I think she is cute and I would love to be her right now. The card will be headed to my college roomie by the way her name is Leilani and in Hawaiian her name means Heavenly Child.

Hoaloha in Hawaiian translates to Friend so the card reads...Friend, a happy life is made of little things.

Damask Designs Gift Purse

With this swap round came a Secret Sister Swap (there is still time to get in on the card portion of the swap you can find the info here)

Anyhow I figured that with two years of people sending swap cards my way it was going to be no big Secret who I was to my Sister. So I thought I should come right out of the gate letting her know who I was and spoiling her crazy my other option was go to IA for the afternoon and mail my package from there. Well with being sick last week I did not feel like going anywhere so I went with the first option. Here is a project that went in the mail this past week...

The bottle you see above started out plain glass I used my Cricut and some etching cream to put a flower on the front. As hard as I tried to get a good photo of it I had no luck. The pearl marks the center of the flower that was resisted with vinyl and was not etched.

After my TBBM cartridge arrived in the mail I was a bit disappointed. My whole reason for getting it was to make larger bags to package gifts in. (I am far from the perfect gift wrapper, totally this is a huge trouble spot for me I am so very embarrassed by my wrapping skills.) Well when I started cutting out the bags on the expression they were not big at all. In fact in the biggest bag the glass bottle would not fit, so...I opened up Cricut Design studio and made a two part cut file for the purse, I used redliner tape to adhere the two cuts and ended up with the size bag I needed to fit my project. Now I am satisfied, oh what a feeling!

52 Weeks 52 Sketches Week 11

Page is of our DD with a Christmas Gift from my Sister. The care bear is as big as her and she drags the thing around the house all day long. Her pretty Christmas dress was off by the photo, potty training in progress and needless to say she did not make the drive from Monroe to Canton about 45 minutes. I hate my handwriting have to figure out a way to get the story onto the page. Any suggestions?

PTI New Leaf / SU Wasabi A color comparison

In our SCS PTI swap thread there are some questions on how Papertrey's New Leaf compares to Stampin' Up Wasabi...Here are my thoughts.

PTI New Leaf on the left side of your screen, SU Wasabi is on the right (the new leaf buttons were sold out I could not compare them for you).

PTI New Leaf card stock and ribbon is a bright Green, Wasabi is more Subtle.

New Leaf Ink stamps very dark compared to the lighter Wasabi.

Hope this helps.

I Love PTI so if it were me I would go New Leaf all the way, there is no comparison in the quality of PTI products produced they are the top of the stampin' food chain.

SCA3C15 Still Black and Blue

It has been one rough week around here with myself being sick with the Flu and just this am little J coming down with it. I feel so bad for her, laying on the couch like a dishrag in need of folding. It is hard to keep this one down, you know when she is acting like this something is up. She is only 3, we are limited on what type of cough and cold medicine to give her other then TLC and some Motrin every 6 hours. I have managed to finish a project that I started last week before the sickies came to visit, just put the finishing touches on it today using some new PTI goodies...

I had to test out the new camera I could find no better way then to have a photo shoot with little J. Can you tell she loved it? I love seeing her all dressed up and having fun when I was growing up I was just too FAT to fit into this type of fun dress up costume along with huge feet that would compare to Cinderella's Sisters. LOL!!

Cupojafa is hosting this round you can find it {Here}, she also has a wonderful blog that can be found {Here}

The idea behind the 3 R swap is to Recycle card scraps. They layout needed to remain the same in all cards but you could make changes in card stock, DP, Colors etc to make your six cards. You can see that I have used two DP's on my creations and switched up some card stock every piece of paper you see was a saved scrap (except for the card base) I also used up my end of ribbon spools and replacements are on the way. I purchased the Kodak Easy Share Camera, mainly because I still wanted to use my photo printer and it did not have a moving lens. (The lens is what messed up on my old version, not sure yet if this was the right decision.)

Well I am finally tired to off to catch some zzz's.
