Something to Crow about part 2

I have glass jars EVERYWHERE and I mean EVERYWHERE have been hoarding them for awhile now much to my Husbands dismay.  

I did make a deal with him when we are done with the kitchen the ones I don't use will be going to 

Y's Buys.  He was happy with that!

Here is another display we created. 

 The Hobnialish candle holders were found by Jan (My Second Mama).  

They are actually plastic not milk glass hobnail, however this wall is directly across from my milk glass and they look awesome!!!!

The Rooster Tin was purchased at Home World Market

Red Knobs at Hobby Lobby along with the ceramic rooster and red candles.

The Crowing Rooster was cut on the Cricut at 4"

Side view of this display.  The little Red Rooster hook was purchased at Home World Market it is holding my Grandmother's vintage aprons.  LOVE!

This pantry cupboard is re purposed as additional pantry space, we have had it forever (Purchased at Shopko, I think).

Something to Crow About

Here is one section of our kitchen we have been working on, this view is of the side pantry cupboard. 

 This is my favorite cupboard in the kitchen!

 I resurfaced the cork board with my digital paper.  (see post below for the free download)

I have some altered thumb tacks and clothes pins to make yet that will complete this space.

DIY Hair Goody Storage

The girls have been driving me crazy with the organization of their hair supplies

  I had to help them out before I lost it

  Remember A type personality on board;)

who just happens to <3 oatmeal

below is my DIY  Goody Storage

I found the idea while pinning away on pinterest

I just took the empty container and wrapped it in vinyl (even the bottom)

Cut a circle larger than the bottom clip it all the way around

fold in the flaps to cover 

Wrap the vinyl around (worked easier with DH helping at this point)

Trim the bottom with Ribbon to hide where the vinyl meets

I placed another smaller ribbon 1/3 way down the container 

 only adhering it in the back with a few glue dots

this made the row were the bobby pins and clips could hang out;)

we have a small bathroom and I know it is going to meet some water so I opted for vinyl

if it is going in a bedroom Your favorite coordinated DP would work along with fabric

On the inside they will find all of the scrunchies

Now if I find one more on the floor I guarantee you will hear me screaming...

Graceful German Plate Arrangement

I have been working this out in my mind for almost a year...so happy to see the finished product. The script is in German it is the mealtime prayer I grew up saying and our family now says.

Come Lord Jesus, Be our Guest. Let these gifts (Let this food) to us be blessed.



I love the little pastel flower plates they are actually bone china the other plates are Corelle wear. (All found while Junkn' at our local Y's Buys store total cost for plates $2.50.) I did no harm to the plates the way I hung them they can be easily removed.

I have been giving some peeks on facebook on a family* Project Bureau Mirror. This is a tiny part of the project. I was tossing around how I could create this for our living room. Floor tiles would be hard to hang...get big eye roll from DH...has to be easier way. 4 by 4 wood tiles...check stash...one short...ACK! Oh here we go...I have over two hundred blank 4"drink coasters...remember those...we all just had to have SOME;) LOL, 200 = SOME!


Have to click in on these coasters this DCWV DP stack is so growing on me it has this beautiful shine and the patterns...YUMMY!

Apply to blank coaster with Modge Podge and let dry.
Punch Hole in upper corners.

Merry Santa is Sleeping

I was bored Thanksgiving night and ventured into the craft room where Mount Washmore was waiting for me. (Mount Washmore was the name my friend Dana gave to our laundry pile when the washer was broken.) After I shuffled around the mess I plugged in the cricky and got busy with some vinyl.

Merry was cut from the Cindy Loo cartridge at 4" on red vinyl from Printonit.com
I used the flourish cut on page 43 also at 4", on the second flourish cut I used the flip feature.

I found a great tip on Mypinkstamper.com she suggests that you number your pages when the cartridges are loaded with extras (she did Paper Doll Dress Up) I have since done this also now on the Cindy Loo. It works out great because their are 10 keys per row, so you just count instead of searching for the correct cut on the keypad. Here is the youtube video link for her tip. It is a great idea and worth watching her short video.

Since today is the first day of December and CHRISTmas is on the way I will be again including a favorite Bible verse on my posts here is a great one for the day...

AMAZING...Before The Morning

I find it totally amazing how the injuries for the girls can be so different. You know Donna's Story she has a long road to walk when her sister came out of the accident with a cuncussion and seatbelt bruises (she was kept overnight in the hospital)>


I have just gotten my hands on this pic I have not seen this view of the car in a pic before. I don't remember it looking this way on the road, think I was looking with blinders on like a huge fog was covering elements and time. I know I was in denial that anything was badly wrong it is so different how you see things that way. My hope for any Parent is that you never have to see your child in this situation through clear eyes or eyes you have packed with denial. I just had a calm feeling when we arrived at the accident I could hear both girls that was all I needed at the time. Then we got busy picking up the carnage on the road so when the ambulance was ready they could get out. The rest of the way to the Trauma Center I was in prayer for the girls and our family and that wrapped me in more calm.


The hardest part in all of this for me is when I was seeing our Daughter give up on everything and asking the tough questions like Why Me?, Am I going to die? I don't know if I had the correct reply but I told her that only 1 person out of 4 in the same rollover ejection crash in a rural area LIVES and she is that ONE person. I went on to tell her that God had his chance to take her but instead he has another path for her life on earth and she will need to find the way the reason see the big picture. The next day I came back to her room with some Cricut Vinyl, Hope Sings indeed when you are the 1 birdie left!





Found a new fave song for the moment it was on the radio on the way to a Dr. apt this week not like listening with new ears for I know I have heard this song over the summer many many times and this one time it really sings to my heart.

I purchased this Cartridge awhile back and broke it out the other day when I had a tiny bit of creative time. (The cut vinyl pieces were placed on our back storm door.)

Cricut, Copic Airbrush, Cut T-Shirt?

What, am I up to now?

I was in a real creative mood today and have been wanting to work on a Copic Airbrush T. I took it a bit further and Cut it when Little J exclaimed, "It is too big"! This makes for a very creative long post, if you have questions you can email me at paschal.sara@gmail.com or leave a question in the comment section.

So here is what I did...

1) Launder the t
2) Place cardboard inside of T so ink won't bleed to the back
3) Cut your vinyl on the cricut (I used the Dog from Everyday Paper dolls at 6") You can also Substitute Freezer paper
4) Center your negative cut onto the t
5) Airbrush the Image with Copics and the Copic airbrush (Yes, Copic Markers can be used on Fabric)


6) Pull off the negative image
7) Line up the Positive Vinyl image on the T
8) Draw in your cut lines with a fabric Sharpie
9) Remove the Positive Cut

10) Embellish the image (here I used a large gem and two small for a collar)

Okay, little J loved her new shirt but it was large so I took a trip back to the 80's and cut it up. Here is how I did it, there are many ways and many different ideas on how this is done but for my Little one I kept it simple and did not show skin.

1) Lay the T out flat
2) Cut off the bottom hem, stretch the bottom
3) Cut 2" wide strip off of the bottom set aside for later
4) Cut up both sides to 1" below the arm pit area and stretch your cuts
5) Start on one side cut 4 slashes on front and back make sure to them line up as close as possible. (I fold over then cut on the fold. Also this is a child's T so I cut four slashes on an adult T I would do more.)
6) Stretch your bottom band and cut in half
7) Take one half and start threading your slashes like a shoe working from the arm pit area to the bottom of the T
8) Tie your ends together in a knot to secure
9) Repeat on other side

Now that's GL-assy!

My friend Chris made up some tiles last week and it motivated me to play around with the glass tiles I had staring me down for months now.

Finished tiles I have flipped one over so you can see the painted back. Such a beautiful blue I LOVE IT! Don't they look like a cool pool waiting to be dove into? Just think what you can do with the glass tiles once PTI starts releasing the acrylic paints!!!


So I put the positive side of the cut on the tiles and used the negative pieces to etch the votive holder. I still have the backing paper sheets to use stay tuned to see what I have done with them.

Directions on how to use the second cut for an etched glass votive...
1) Use carrier sheet to pick up negative pieces of vinyl from the cutting mat
2) Adhere the carrier sheet to glass votive and burnish with craft stick
3) Remove carrier sheet
4) Apply glass etching cream per product directions
5) Wash off cream
6) Remove cut pieces to reveal etching




And on a personal note DH worked his first FULL week last week, (Insert Happy Dance Here)and the card table for Montana trip did WONDERFULLY;)

Tick Tock a New WALL Clock Tutorial

If you receive the Cricut Chirp in your email inbox this week you would have seen one heck of a wonderful creation in the spotlight from Dawn. I had started my vinyl wall art a few weeks ago and though this would be the perfect way to finish it off so I came up with a simple clock to match the curvy clock she used found on a cricut cartridge that My Sister nor I have( Stretch Your Imagination). So by using some triangles, boxes and J's I created my clock version (you can download the .cut file here). You can also read up on how I did the part of the bird and branch in my post here.


How to make...
Use the .cut file I have provided for your birdhouse.
Apply the birdhouse to your wall.
Cut your clock numbers using Designers Calender (on the download you will find the correct size numbers for the size of the birdhouse).
Apply your clock numbers to the birdhouse.
I placed my clock works onto some combined die cuts from Marvy Scallop Circle Punch (5 of them out of poster board, glued togeather).
Punch one last time out of the same vinyl you used for your clock and apply to the top of your stack.
Attach clock works to your layered stack of die cuts.
Apply Velcro to the back of your clock works.
Set the time and attach the clockworks to your birdhouse.

It has been a rough start to the New Year the girls have missed three consecutive days of school on account of the latest winter storm that means DH has had his work hours cut also. I am working with our DD's friend and Our DD on some blog posts if this works out I can continue to make some infrequent postings for you. Thanks for hanging in with me;)

Off Road Mayhem part 2 December 17th
So hard to pick one fave for December I have been hard at it making Christmas gifts for my family but in the end the project I worked on for my Nephew took the top spot. I think based on the fact that I had a great time spraying the shirt is why it won and the second that I used what normally would have been trash (the liner tape for the vinyl) and figured out a way to use it.


November 9th I worked on my blog skin for the holiday using a download I purchased from Faith Sisters Store. This has been my favorite blog look of all time I had a wonderful year with Faith Sisters they have such a beautiful site and many free downloads.

October came and introduced me to digital stamps the one on this card was from MFT. I am not a big color girl on cards I was happy when I was able to PAINT this image and then print it out.

Winter Woodland Wall Art

Okay, today I have some vinyl to show you that I have put in our own home. I used my Expression and the fit to page feature on the 12 by 24 mat to get this wall art. The bird was cut out at 6" and is the perfect size for the fit to page branch. It was funny how the family noticed it, it is not so bold that it jumps out at you it blends in with the color of the living room walls.

Off Road Mayhem Part 3

Here is the final installment of Off Road Mayhem, I had a fun time working on these gifts. This one uses the Negative part off of day 1, now all three boys have a Off Road Mayhem version. Off Road Mayhem, part 2

Today I am showing you gift number two made with the extra pieces from yesterday's post. I wanted to make it look like street gear so I used silver metallic paint and created over spray to cover the image and parts of the T. Do this outside in a well ventilated place so you don't over spray anything else;)


Here is a quick tutorial on how I did this T...
1) Launder T and dry
2) Cut the vinyl so it cuts through the vinyl and the backing
3) Weed your vinyl onto the transfer tape and set aside
4) Piece your backing paper onto a sheet of transfer tape
5) Spray with a light adhesive I used quilt backing spray
6) Place on your laundered T
7) Place cardboard inside your t to prevent spray from soaking to back side
8) Spray over design with spray paint
9) Let Dry
10) Peel off the backing from T and throw away
11) Launder T once again after it dries for a day

Note** you can also do this step with the negative in vinyl but I used this for a different project I will show you tomorrow**

Off Road Mayhem! A layering Tutorial

I have made this Vinyl wall art for my Nephew as a Christmas gift. I used my Expression and the 12 by 24 mat, Cars Cartridge and two colors of Cricut vinyl grey and green. I used the Expressions fit to page key (I can't remember the cut size but this is a huge piece he is going to love it). To make this I had to layer the two colors meaning I had to make two different cuts, guess what I used the other cut to make an additional piece and I used the backing from the vinyl to create another, making that three projects from two cuts.

How to layer vinyl tutorial...
1) Cut your background shape on the highest settings so you cut through the vinyl and the backing.
2) Leave the backing on this cut piece
3) Cut your next layer with all the settings at 3 so you don't cut the backing layer.
4) Make your cut
5) Apply your transfer tape
6) Weed your image (Transfer it to your tape)
7) Layer your image over your background cut.
8) Clean the wall where you wish to place your vinyl leaving no residue
9) Peel the backing from the background shape
10) Adhere to your surface

Cricut Vinyl Tutorial

Today I want to share with you the best vinyl video tutorial I have found on youtube

Points in the video...
1) Cut only the vinyl not the backing layer
2) Set all the depths to 3
3) Use only the amount of vinyl you need for your project
4) Weeding is taking the vinyl off that you don't use (please save this for another use a great way to use the negative is as a stencil for t shirt painting or etching)
5) Cut down and apply your transfer tape over the weeded vinyl, smooth it and make sure it is adhered well.
6) What she does not show you is that she replaced the backing sheet of the transfer tape onto the sticky side of the vinyl til she was ready to apply it7) Prep your surface making sure it is clean and free of any residue
8) Remove this backing layer for the transfer tape
9) Adhere your vinyl to where you want it placed
10) Take an application tool and adhere to your wall making sure to remove any air bubbles.


I have been very busy crafting vinyl sayings for my Nephews, Niece as Christmas Gifts I will share them with you after the big day. They are stored for now on the transfer tape with the backing placed back on it. On Tuesday I will post a small project I have worked on for our home.

Painted Ornament Tutorial

Below is the finished product a painted glass ball ornament...


Here is how you can make your own...

Painted Ornament Tutorial Product list
1) Clear Glass Ornament any size
2) Acrylic Craft Paints (I love the glitter or metallic types for this project)
3) Old container to catch excess paint
4) Adhesive Backed Vinyl
5) Cricut
6) Cricut Cartridge of your choice
7) 8" length of Ribbon

Steps
1) Remove hanger from ornament
2) Pour in Acrylic Paint of your choice
3) Swirl the paint around in the ornament making sure to cover the entire inside
4) Place ornament upside down so excess paint can drain out (I used a cool Whip container and egg carton works great also
5) Let dry this could take a few days, make sure it is totally dry
6) Place hanger back on the ornament
7) Tie your length of ribbon to the top
8) Cut your Vinyl
9) Remove the protective backing
10) Smooth vinyl onto the ornament

Going Wild for Cooper

I am so happy to say I am a great Aunt twice over now my Nephew and his Wife had Baby Cooper back in November. They plan on coming down for Christmas so I will get to see him in person then, for now the Beautiful Christmas card that arrived has to suffice. For Christmas gifts this year we are going small and practical this is just part of his gift I altered a Luv's Wipe tub. Luv's brand now prints its label right onto the tub so I took some dp and covered the container, I wanted to use more vinyl but realized this too late. I love how it turned out and was happy to find some animal print DP in my stash. Now they can bring the container to daycare and it is clearly marked to whom it belongs. My biggest pet peeve of having the girls in daycare when they were younger is that fact I always brought and brought and it all went so quickly I am sure our supply helped to cover some other children.

Season's Greetings cling vinyl

I had some learning to do with this stuff, then I was horrified when I realized the Names I mailed out to my friends children would not stick the way they were cut. (Don't worry I am making up some new goodies and these will be really cool)

So with the cling vinyl (does not have an adhesive back) it is supposed to cling on glass, mirror etc.

1) If you take it straight from the carrier sheet and place it on your cutting mat the cling side will face the outside of a window. So when you are looking in the image appears correctly.

2) If you take the cling and flip it before you place it on your cutting mat the cling side will face to the inside of a window. So when you are looking out the image appears correctly.

I thought it was just not clingy because I had paper fibers on my cutting mat and they transferred to the cling, not so there is a right and a wrong side to this stuff. The cut I am showing today was at 5 1/2" it is the plain cut and the shadow blackout button (yep, I should have used a color other then green for the shadow blackout because now the leaves don't show up well) the berries are some leftover bling I had sitting on my desk. This is sticky on the letter side so it resides on our back door so people can see it when the come in. I am going to be working on some for our big picture window, I should have the routine down on this stuff now.
