SCS card Sketch...

This card was done for last weeks card sketch. I can't go look up the link at this time for reasons you are going to find downright Hilarious. The batteries in the mouse are dying and I am frustrated surfing the net so I will need to wait 'til DH gets home and UNLOCKS them. Yes, because of the excessive use of AAA batteries in our house they have to be divided out, seems if the kids find them we never have any for reasons like this. They always have a CD player or game somewhere in need of AAA's. And yes we do use some rechargeables as well, but I do not know where they are hiding at this time.
Back to the card, no stamping at all, the paper was embossed with a CB folder and in the middle of the card is a Tree Brad, I love it! (Okay, okay there is a tiny sentiment stamp that was used but really does that even count?) This paper was given to me by Barb, it is double sided, and I have really enjoyed using it. Now that I see the photo I am going to go back and layer up the center square, it just needs a little bit more...

Sympathy...

So I have a few sympathy cards done now but have more to go. This is another of my faves it used Regal Rose and Mellow Moss and the stamp used again was Artfully Asian and was colored using ink pad, chalks and blender pen. I ran the background through the embossing folder divine swirls after the sentiment was stamped on the front in black staz-on. The ribbon is SU from the fairytale package, I love this ribbon (yummy).
My stamp set arrived from Paper Trey, am going to try to ink it up today or Friday.
Have a great day thanks for checking in.

CC129 Sympathy

I do so love the Challenges on SCS and Yesterday was the Color Challenge for the week. This week it is called CC129 and you use the SU colors listed and they were...
Rose Red
Pretty In Pink
Old Olive
I was asked to do some sympathy cards for some Ladies and have been very pleased as to what I have come up with. Thanks to my Sister and WRAK members I now have some sentiments to make cards with. Also thanks to Barb for these wonderful papers they are a double sided mulberry type paper, such fun!
For this card I used Artfully Asian, I adore this set.
I put lots of bling on this card and some Prima flowers, so what do you think would it be a passable sympathy card?
Thanks for checking in.

Celebrate...

This card was designed by my Sister it uses a SU set but I am not sure of the name of this one. The card was made while she was over for a stamp day, the girls helped color and glitter this card, they have fun making stuff with us. Both of us use the Bold Bright family of colors the most and that is what was used on this card. The coloring was done with colored pencils.
Just want to send an extra special Thank You to my Sister for all she has done for my oldest DD to get her ready for Back to school this year. (And yes she does have her flute with her today so she will not need to march with a marker, how silly she is!)
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Second DD digi page first day of school ...

So here is the page for my other DD, I can't believe it 5th grade! She was excited about her butterfly backpack this year and she was ready to go to school. She loves to have her photo taken so no comments from her to report.

DD Digi page first day of school...

Okay, I saved my digi page differently and it uploads but you can't increase the size much to see the smaller photos. But I have figured out how to get it here, Hurray for Me! In the second smaller photo you can see the Knee brace that she has to wear now 'til we visit the Dr. in October. I also found it hysterical how she wanted her hair french braided for the first day of school yet she chooses to dress like a tom-boy, go figure. (her hair was not long enough for the braiding to stay in well enough so she took it out.)

Simply Said, first day of school 2007...

First the card for the day this one uses the Simply Said Set from SU. The colors used were white, chocolate chip and temp. turq. I picked up the ribbon at Hobby Lobby, the color matched really good. I have also been using the white gel pen a lot lately but I love the look it gives.
Well here are my DD's ready for the first day of School, the oldest is in seventh grade the other fifth and of course the little one is home with me. I made a couple digital pages today if anyone knows how to upload .PDF files to blogger please let me know for now if you wish to see the pages please email me and I can send them to you. All of our kids are beautiful, smart and loving and it is fun having them around, the only exception would be when they are not getting along.

Have a wonderful day!

A major CASE...

I just can't get enough of this stamp, I love it. (I think it is because I am learning to color it well, have to start small.) But I saw this card on SCS and just had to case it (you can find it here) I used Pretty in Pink with white ribbon on this card. Also the background is a way retired stamp from SU but I still love it!
I loved this little gem so much it was sent to a stamping friend on the opposite end of the state, wink - wink.

And the ball kept rolling...I had these images from WRAK group of Paper Trey Little Lady that I just had to use you can order the Little Lady and others by visiting Paper Trey Inc. on the web. The ink used on the flower has some shimmer to it and I also used a pop dot to make the flower come off the paper, it looks so wonderful IRL, thank you Kathyf008 for the images.
I have made my first purchase of Acrylic stamps from Paper Trey and hopefully it will arrive soon you can find the set I ordered by following this link Spooky Sweets The best part is that one of the stamps in the set is made just for Avery Address labels, look out nugget boxes here I come!! If only I had the funds I would purchase every set she has designed, I love them all..a girl can dream can't she!

Remember to comment on fluffles blog candy, I will be drawing on Sunday.

Card Candy Ballet Blue

Wow, I just love candy (card candy counts as well). I played around on Wednesday with making a few snowman and snowflake themed sets. This is what I came up with...

Of course I had to make a sample card using some of the candy pieces but, I did not eat them all up! In addition I used a ballet blue panel under the embossed snowflake card stock.
Don't you love candy?

Bella Birthday

This card was made at our last Sister Stamp Day and I have not shown it to you yet, so here she is Cakeabella. This card used paper from K & Co. She was also mounted on Gable Green SU card stock. We had fun coloring her with the glitter gel pens from Sakura, they are really neat, the faux brads in the corner are also done with the pen. For Christmas last year my Sister gave me a type set stamp, now I can do any word I want in a couple different patterns, I love this! (not sure the company the packaging is long gone.)
Make sure to leave a comment on the Fluffles post to be entered for some blog candy. So far the in colors are a huge hit along with Chocolate Chip. I do not have the in colors but I do use a ton of Chocolate Chip.
Thanks for checking in...

Can you see them?

Worked on some more beaded pens over the weekend. My oldest DD loves camouflage these days so I made these for her and her friends to use at school.
Here are some helpful tidbits I have learned from beading all of these pens...
1) Bright colors show better through the beads
2) If you use card stock and not DP's you need to increase the size of the sticky tape you cut.
3) You can use the Xyron to put adhesive on the back of the paper you use to save on sticky tape.
4) SU now sells clear Micro Beads!! (However they do not tell you how much the package is holding?!

I am selling beaded pens and Lip balm now, so if you can not get the supplies in your area give me a shout. (They are shown on the right hand side of my page.)

Do not forget to leave a comment on Fluffles blog candy below, I will draw on Sunday Afternoon.
Have a great day!

Box + Fluffles = Blog Candy

Was shopping last week and I need to go pick up my Fluffles at the Stamp Garden, (the owner was kind enough to order the ones I wanted, how nice can you get). I have tried them through WRAK and fell in love with these two, they are easy to color for me and I can make them look good.

I was on the net over the weekend and this blog had a tutorial for this box for small square cards, had to give it a try you can go find it here Just Give Me Stamps. For my colors I used Rose Red, Artichoke and Regal Rose plus white. I used the Simply Said set along with the Flower Pot Fluffles. To make the scallop I used my old CM plastic ruler and cut the scallop, need to get a SU corner rounder so I can make the other scallop edges I have seen.

These are the four small cards that go inside the box with SU envies.

Here is the blog candy you have been waiting for just leave a comment on this post telling me your fave color combo and I will draw a random winner who will receive...
Card Stock
Envies
embellishments
Stamped Fluffle images
(enough for you to create this box project on your own, I figured it would be a challenge to ship the box assembled).
Have a wonderful day and thank you for reading my blog.

Rainy Day Parade

Okay Okay, I know some of you do not like these slide shows but this one has to be for a bit my DH worked so hard all week cleaning up his baby. I have one comment to make, the CLOWNS were more prepared than I was and that is not saying much for me today. (no coats, umbrella's, chairs, blankets and my BRAIN!) I swear the Doppler showed that the rain would be gone by parade time, not!
So I will leave this slide for a short period in honor of my hard working DH and family, sorry.
To make it bearable and beacause I am closing in on 4000 posts, I am going to post some blog candy on Monday so stay tuned...

Some Awsome cards in the mail...

Fishy Farts, by Dawnl
I saw this card in the gallery for View Master Cards and it so reminded me of my Dad and Brother I just had to make a trade with Dawn to get it, my dilemma now is who deserves it more! I sure do wish my coloring skills were half as good as hers. Make sure you check out her gallery, you will be amazed she is a great artist, so run don't walk over to SCS and check in on Dawnl

Lady thank you...

This great card came as a thank you from Bonnie my last blog candy winner. I just love the old lady stamp and how she attached the round tab with the brads. Thank you Bonnie!

Parade

Ha, ha, ha I tricked you! These Geese are on parade in front of my DN's Apartment. They are messy and hard to get around but the girls enjoyed watching them last Saturday.
I am posting early again because we are off to a real Parade on Saturday Morning. My DH now drives the biggest Cement mixer his company owns and has spent all week getting it shiny to take down to River Boat Days in Yankton SD. If you want to learn more here is a link... Yankton River Boat Days His company has the contract (cement) to build the new bridge to span the Mighty MO at Yankton.

Happy Saturday!

A bell is ringing...

Found this blog today, she is offering some great candy, so very cute! Need to fly on over and get entered.

Stripe Floral Pocket Card

This was actually the first card I had made in this style DP's from Making Memories paper pack was purchased on clearance from Target. I want to thank Bonnie for sending me a card last week that used the round tab punch and she had attached it with brads, I loved the look and just had to use it here. (Thanks Bonnie!)

I am going to be working on some beaded pens this weekend, I found this really cool Halloween print at Michaels so be checking out the link off to the righthand side of the page for a seasonal treat!

Falls Community Health

Yesterday was such an exciting day for me the Board Members of CHA and Sioux Falls Health Department were able to take a tour of the new Community Health Clinic and Health Department offices. Wow, breathtaking more space in the waiting areas, more exam rooms for medical and dental patients. It is just outstanding and was really needed in the community, officially to open for clients on Tuesday, AMEN!

Early Bird...

Going to post for Thursday now, tomorrow is a fun filled, jam packed day. This card was for the Sketch Challenge on SCS this week, I liked it was quick and easy. (Especially when you are up all night coloring fluffles and have a whole stash done.) Don't know where my Sister found the Christmas lights, I have had them for a while but they worked out great for this card.
Happy Thursday!

Awesome contest

Found this great contest while I was visiting Nancy's Creative Mess, you can win a flat screen TV from Best Buy. Have 'til Aug 17 so hurry over to Five Minutes for Mom and leave a comment on the linked page.
Best of luck!

Dashing Bling

I have to tell you how much I love the Basic Grey -Dasher- line of paper. I sat down this A.M. (early about 1:30, not kidding)and made over 12 different cards with two sheets from this line. I am waiting for a new ink color to arrive so I can finish but wow, I adore it. Yesterday I played around with a pocket card layout, made one a long time ago but it was folded on the 5 1/2" not on the 4 1/4", so that was an adventure but I like the benefits of my toils.

Okay, so for this card the card stock was artichoke, pretty in pink, white and Dasher by Basic Grey. The ribbon is layered and from SU along with the Round tab punch in artichoke and the large and small ovals in artichoke and pretty in pink. (I am also waiting for a new sentiment set to arrive to fill in my small oval.) Now lets talk about the bling, LOVE the sticky rhinestones bought a bunch at Archivers while I was in MN. Now that I have them found again yes, they were lost. Lost in the mess my DD calls a bedroom ( the Lord only knows what she was doing with them, my guess is faux earrings or body piercing of some type. Betcha didn't know they could be used in this way as well did you, don't worry neither did I.)
Have a great Stamp Day!

Birthday Fluffles

This is my first Fluffle card -EVER- and I love it. It was even easy to color for someone like me! My Sister gave me some magazines over the weekend and on the cover of one of them I saw this color combo and just fell in love with it, had to use it right away. (Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose and Green Galore. I used the blender pen and the ink pads to color, this works well for me much better than the Aqua painter. Poor fluffle could use some help, I am going to have to fix his belly but the rest of the coloring I think looks pretty good.

Artfully Asian Blocked Card

Love, love, love this card layout. Turns out my last round Secret Little Sis was helpful in creating this layout here is a link back to her card. And thank you again for making "pool boy" sound so hilarious to me. It was a Sketch Challenge 99 on SCS you can take this link and check out how it is done and see other cards with the same layout. I used black, rose red and very vanilla card stock. To color the flowers I used the blender pen and chalk (I am getting to like coloring images, still need more practice.) Thanks to my Sister for lending me some Aqua painters and a blender pen and thanks to Barb for loaning me the Artfully Asian set, ( I had tons of fun with it). This card was actually made on our last Sister Stamp day was a lot of fun. You can tell by my distressed Card Stock, glad I have that problem worked out

Shoe Box Swap cards

Last week was the first time in a few months we have gotten the shoe box swap night going. As always it was a great time, and I learned new things so that is always wonderful along with being given the Simply Said stamp set (still in shock) thank you Amy!

This first card was my card I put together using the glitter window and small snowflake and sentiment stamps from Penny Black.

This next card was brought by Barb, along the right hand side of the CS she showed us how to use the Crop-a-dile to make fake brads, (I think this is really cool). And I have this stamp set on my wish list as well, I just love all the cards I have seen that use this set, so Elegant. Thanks Barb for a great card!

Amy brought this next card using the Simply Said Set (love it, and thank you again for your generosity.) Such striking colors (pumpkin pie and summer sun).

This little guy is a gem, if you are the maker of this card please contact me.

This pull out window card was created bySusanna Boyd, great card!

This card should be my Motto card and I am not even a kid (or am I). The creator of this card is Silent RN.

I have had my eye on this eat cake set for a while now, I may have to move it up on my list after I have seen this card, very nice. If you are the maker of this card please contact me.

This card is an explosion card, it is wonderful! If you made it please contact me.

I so enjoy swapping cards and seeing IRL what other stampers are doing and there are so many Cute Kids in my life who are going to get some great cards! Thank you everyone for a great swap.

Believe it or not Vol. 2

I think this one hits home because of the troubles my DD is having with her knees. I did not realize it happens this way...

Babies are born without kneecaps They don't appear until the child
reaches 2 to 6 years of age.

Believe it or not

Got an email from a friend this AM it was called believe it or not. Because of my lack of tools yesterday to complete my challenge card I thought this tid bit would be good for today.

Leonardo Da Vinci invented the scissors.

I love Leonardo, smart man he did much to change our world. I researched him once for one of my posts to this blog. This site is worth checking out. I feel much like him sometimes do a lot but not complte much. (That should be my motto for my crafting life, can't tell you how many half way done projects I have.) Anyway here is a link back to that post. Leonardo Da Vinci Follow this link to learn more...Museum of Science

Gone Old School

Okay Wanda (you know who you are) this post is for you. She emailed me yesterday about the SC on splitcoast I said I was having a hard time because I don't have anything but a small circle punch (used on my glitter window cards). So I thought about it checked the gallery and went old school with pencil, scissors and my DD's fave drinking cup. (I got a tad wonky circle but if you don't look very close it is fine.) I love all of the bling on this card and there was not much stamping just the simple word, SWEET. It will make a good Thank You card when needed. The DP's are from Hobby Lobby, flower and brad form C.Keepsakes, scallop circle from Wish Rak and there you have my SC136 challeng card Old School style.

Happy Holiday Penguin Stress!

I was woke up on Tuesday by my husband telling me we had a flat and while trying to fix it he broke three lugs. So, he took the day off to take our one and only running car in to Sioux Falls to purchase new tires. Thought he would do all four but ended up coming home with two new ones and half the bill (not bad I thought).

Next I wanted to sit down and make some cards, nice simple, easy no fuss cards. Well how about crooked, wonky, runny and frustrating cards instead. Okay, I was stepping out of the box, set to case a card I had seen at the store and just adored it was a new Memory Box Penguin in a Santa Suit (cute right). He was on a 4 1/2" square card so I thought I would give this shape of card a try because the envies were right there as well (Amuse Brand) so I picked up what I would need and we left.
He has sat on the table in his sack for a few days as I rested my back and took it easy (maybe this made the penguin mad he missed seeing the daylight and his other stamping friends).
Well as you can tell from my photos of late my trimmer has had major issues, (bet you thought I was distressing the edges, NOT)! So I finally called Fiskars today and they will be sending me some new rotary blades. After researching on the web I also found out (after five years of ownership) that you can rotate the block the blade cuts into so I did this as well. Now I have the problem of the paper going crooked or getting wavy, seems like it is not being held down tight enough. So my hubby checked this out when he got home and put some screws in the bottom to tighten things up, didn't work!
Now I am really frustrated because I also saw when I walked back to the table that the stickles had made my red marker bleed, ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! So I left everything on the table until I could collect myself and figure out how to fix the mess.

Okay, so in this card you can see the Real Red Bleeding on the fur of the Santa hat, yuck! This card is the first size I tried to fit the Amuse envies.

Here I had fun, sorry the photo stinks, but this was my first EVER 3" by 3" card, have no envies yet but did order some from Stampin Up!
Of course I had to use Green Galore, now I am Happy Again!
