Digital Stamps and the Silhouette Cameo

I have been asked to help out the
QKR Stampede and Eureka Stamps
Technique and Tutorial Team.
So I posted yesterday over on the
QKR Stampede blog the following tutorial.

I have also been asked if my Cricut is headed out to pasture.
It certainly is tucked back a tad farther and has not seen the
light of day for a while because the Silhouette Cameo is just that AWESOME!
I love to use digi stamps and digitally color them using PSE10 so it is a perfect
fit for  my design style.
If you have not check into this yet now would be a great time;)

Hello and welcome to this weeks tutorial post.
I am Sara and today I will show you how you can use
your wonderful digital stamps with the Silhouette Cameo design software and cutter.
(Click on any  photo below to see actual size.)

For the tut today I am using:

** I will be working with a pre-colored
digi stamp however, if you like to hand color
your digi stamps the process is exactly the same just open
the downloaded digi file for the first step.
Sadly, I gave Copics a go and it totally was not my thing so I stick
to what I know and love my Adobe software AI and PSE;)

Here is my finished card, a CAS creation that looks just fab...
Click on photos below for full size pic.

Below you see the printed digi stamps on the carrier mat.  **I did go back and included the basic digi stamp uncolored.

Below you see the cut digi stamp images still on the carrier sheet.  The excess paper has been removed...

The nicely cut digi stamp and some dimensional foam tape meet a CAS thank you card...

Happy Friday blogland.
Today
has a new challenge for you,
What's In Your Easter Basket?
That is right hop on over to the
and show us for your chance to win some awesome digis from the store.

Here is my DT creation for your inspiration...
I used this supper cute bunny image from
QKR Stampede
(She reminds me of Mini Pearl with the tag on her bonnet;)

Here is the digi stamp colored in PSE...

The cute little Easter Basket if from the Silhouette store.
It takes awhile to cut, and you have to have your patience in tow when you
assemble it.  However, the final look is just stunning.
I was able to get the best cut on a 12 by 12 piece of white scrapbook page from Pioneer.
This larger cut size will hold tons of treats, for my photo I stuck in two Reese's Eggs and there
is plenty of room to spare.

I used photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to color the digi stamp.
I then imported it into the Silhouette Cameo Design Program and sized the image
to fit the front and back of the basket and cut the file.
Next I cut out the basket ( basket is a digi file from Silhouette America) using some
old Stampin' Up DP.
This basket came together super fast and I plan on making multiple ones
for Easter Giving.

QKR Stampede 3 of Something Challenge

March 1st already?
Yes, spring won't be too far behind here in SD;) and for my project
today I have broken out the old bright colors from SU.
I know.  I have a bundle left, it was my fave color family for years.

There is also a new challenge from
This week you are to use 3 of something.
It can be 3 images, 3 embellies etc...
Come out and play with us this week we would love to have you.

Here is my DT Creation for your inspiration, using 3 stars...

I used
from

For my stars I used Adobe Illustrator CS6 and I used the roughen style effect on the star edges.
I then saved the file as a PDF, opened it in PSE saved it as a PNG and imported it into the
Silhouette Cameo Design Software.
Awesomesauce effect, I love the outcome;)

Here is the CS6 screen shot showing the effect....
Now the file as I worked with it in PSE making it a PNG file...

Now the PNG file is open in the Silhouette Cameo design software
and I am set to trace the outer edges...
Below you can see how the stars were traced (I did move the tracing down, it sits on the stars and you would not have been able to see it)....

Now the final cut file for the Silhouette Cameo, I cut this out
three times each on a separate color.  When I was done I was able to complete 3 cards.
