Something Easy...

Remember when these embossing folders first came on the market? I do, I sat there and made up tons of embossed quarter sheets. I found this stash while cleaning out my creative space for a garage sale. How easy it was to whip up a few of these with just placing some yummy PTI ribbon and coordinating card stock.

I have been asked where I get my cartridges from...okay I am blessed in the fact that they are not mine in fact my Sister has borrowed them to me. I have only purchased one and it was Boxes Bags and Tags and that was from Oh My Crafts with a discount code (and Plantin Schoolbook that came with my Expression). I have seen the cartridges on clearance at WalMart and some great deals on Ebay. My Sister has picked most of hers up at Mikes or WalMart when they go on sale.

I know a big stunner there this is one of my fave all time sets and it works very well with a fall color boquet.

In my Cozy Chair!

First I was absent from the web due to some teenager girl issues now I am sitting in my cozy chair trying to kick some bug I picked up along the way...ACK! Every cough and sneeze is killing my back and it feels as if every body part hurts including my hair.

I made this card when I first received my On My Couch Additions set from PTI, I used the small square as wall art not sure if it was made to be art or a pillow but it works here especially with some glaze over the top of it. The additions set does not come with a table so I made my own using the Wishing you set smallest single tulip, pretty clever eh? I find this type of stamping the most fun, making something totally different then its original purpose...

Today is the Day...by Lincoln Brewster

No time to stamp and surf lately, life gets in the way at times being the Mother of three Girls on of them a Teenager that seems to know every single button to push at exact times. On our drive home around dusk on Monday I was totally reminded of one of my favorite bible verses and songs. The sky was a dusty pink and orange and the fog was just starting to settle in over the changing fields of corn and beans. And I just felt myself go AHHHHHHHHHHHH how could God not be here. Just one more of the little things he has shown me lately.

Today is the Day by Lincoln Brewster take this link to listen at Freenapster.com

...I`m casting my cares aside
I`m leaving my past behind
I`m setting my heart and mind on You
Jesus

I`m reaching my hand to Yours
Believing there`s so much more
Knowing that all You have in store for me is good
Is good

Chorus:
Today is the day You have made
I will rejoice and be glad in it
Today is the day You have made
I will rejoice and be glad in it
And I won`t worry about tomorrow
I`m trusting in what You say
Today is the day...
I putting my fears aside
I`m leaving my doubts behind
I`m giving my hopes and dreams to You
Jesus

I`m reaching my hands to Yours
Believing there`s so much more
Knowing that all You have in store for me is good
Is good

Chorus:
Today is the day You have made
I will rejoice and be glad in it
Today is the day You have made
I will rejoice and be glad in it
And I won`t worry about tomorrow
I`m trusting in what You say
Today is the day...
(Guitar interlude)

(2x`s)
I will stand upon Your truth.
(I will stand upon Your truth)
And all my days I`ll live for You
(And all my days I`ll live...)

Chorus:
Today is the day You have made
I will rejoice and be glad in it
Today is the day You have made
I will rejoice and be glad in it
And I won`t worry about tomorrow
I`m giving you my fears and sorrows
Where you lead me I will follow
I'm trusting in what you say
(2x`s)...

In my youth group days it was always my favorite to sing this bible verse, the song I am sharing today is a jazzed up version of my fave...
Psalms 118:24 This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Happy Stamp Day, God Bless!

Did you Watch?

I was glued to the TV last night at 7 waiting to hear about Obama's plan for Health Insurance Reform. I totally agree with his views on this, DH and I both have sever Pre-existing conditions and when I was downsized five years ago we could not continue the insurance coverage I had through work (I think they make this task impossible for a reason...the employer does not want to continue contributing to the cause.

What annoyed me the most were the people sitting there all smug with there govt run insurance programs not wanting anything to change. Maybe we should not give them all the tests they need to get well, maybe we should make them pay full price for prescriptions or maybe we should strip them of their jobs ans securities and see how eager they become for reform.

Please stop stonewalling and get something done for Us hardworking Citizens who require affordable health insurance.

I went to the ER this spring, was packed full of pain meds (no xrays, no mri) and sent home the bill was over 1500, I made a deal with the hospital for a reduced balance who do you think will end up paying the rest...the smug ones that hold insurance policies were their prices are jacked up to cover the cost of the uninsured.

Wake up and see the light doing nothing is not an answer. Even small changes can bring major help to some of us.

GO OBAMA!

Swapping out the Welcome Mat...Lifelight Weekend

I have been playing around with my second card for this round of PTI swapping for a few weeks now. I wanted to use the PTI Everyday button Bits set (just love the little bird) that comes in the set. I also loved the birdhouse card on page 164 of the new SU catty so I created a .cut file for the cricut (Download .cut file here). Finally it all has come together and I have completed six of these little Tweets, Little J almost caused scrambled eggs (she loves them also and her little hands were all over my projects) LOL, AACK!

There is a ton of dimension and little things that just make this card so adorable. When I figured out the welcome mat for the sentiment I could not have been more proud of myself. I cut the oval with Cricut George after I elongated it a bit in DS program, it turned out to fit the sentiment from PTI's Everyday Classics perfectly on the first try (that does not happen often around here).

Autumn Abundance

This was one of the cards I had worked on for PTI's August Blog Hop that did not make it to the hop I just thought the scallops looked off for this class of card. What do you think? I punched a leaf and took the Dark Chocolate ink and a sponged around the leaf (reverse masking) it is fun if you enjoy inky fingers;) I used an older SU punch on some of PTI's Autumn Abundance (free paper download)to create the focal strip.

You can see my blog hop card {here}.
My friend Wanda at My Creative Corner made {this} card I took the focal point in the corner from one of her pieces.

52 Weeks 52 sketches week 35

Yikes it has been a long time since I have completed a SB LO for 52 weeks 52 sketches, the one this week really caught my attention and I had the perfect pic for it so I decided to play along.

I had printed off some extras of this photo to send to my childhood friend, she has been diagnosed recently with a brain tumor. I find myself saddened at the thought it took this diagnosis for me to pick up the phone and call a good childhood friend. I have kept up with her through other people my Sister her Mom and Aunt through the years but truly it is not the same. During the summers we were growing up we were inseparable where one would be you would see three more. We rode our bikes, played on the swings and soaked up water and sun at the pool. Don't make my mistake pick up the phone, send one of your creations snail mail and let your friends know you are thinking of them.

Scrap and Stamp Challenge Page and Moving Mountains

Scrap and Stamp
For the challenge this week we are supposed to scrap our creative space and use stamped chipboard somewhere on that page, this was fun to do however the cleaning and organizing I had to do before I took a new pic was not fun. You do see some older pics of my space just a few things have evolved over the past two years. I used a chipboard S and Grunge board frame to create my title and comply with this weeks rules.

Some of my Fave craft items...

1) Fiscars Trimmer
2) ATG Gun and tape
3) Scor Pal
4) Cricut Expression and Design studio
5) PTI stamps, paper, ribbon, buttons and some inks (Don't agree with switching to a new formula)
6) Scrap Buckets

You can see that I recycled our old computer cabinet and made it into my craft cabinet this way I can shut and lock the doors to keep little J OUT! I love my closet Maid setup this way most of what I have is organized into clear shoe boxes so I can see what I have. I store my SU paper in a cropper hopper file and my PTI paper in a two drawer filing cabinet. For now I have all my SB's and 12 by 12 paper in an old dresser that my Sister gave to me. AS for my Rubba stamps they are stored in two six drawer plastic organizers.

God took me on a different type of adventure on Monday...
Our DD's BFF's Grandmother Joan Passed away on Friday, over the weekend I was asked by the BFF if I was going to attend the funeral. I made up every excuse under the sun and made no promises of attending. Well on Monday I was flip flopping all morning at what to do I tell you just as soon as I set my mind to NO the phone was ringing DD wanted me to come pick her up so she could go and right after that BFF knocked on the door asking me to please go with her. Such courage this girl has I tell you she is one amazing Little Lady. So I pulled myself and Little J together and we attended...Little J amazed me as well she actually behaved for the entire service and showed empathy at the age of 3 to BFF and her Dad "Uncle Bill".

Here is what my bible says...Mom's Devotional bible NIV
Jesus tells us to respond with faith. With faith all things are possible. When we surround ourselves with proof of God's control over our days, our spirits are lifted and most mountains do, in fact, move. Yesterday I had a mountain move and when you can realize the proof of God's love in the little things in such a PROFOUND way you can then begin to realize how the bigger mountain that is not so mobile you can hold tight to God and let him lead us through the days, packing the path around the mountain to the other side.

Matthew 17:20
He replied, "Because you have so little faith, I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, MOVE from here to there and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."
