Cooking it up...

The past couple of days we have been super busy in the kitchen. There is paper in the blender, soap in the microwave, Vaseline on the stove and so on...DH is starting to go bug eyed and wants his kitchen back. My friend Chris shared her Cheese Soup recipe with me a few weeks ago so for the past two blizzard weekends it has become our Saturday lunch menu as we heat up the kitchen with Christmas goodies. I have to see if I can get her to post it for you. I have a funny story about cheese soup my Niece and Nephew are going to love this...

My Sister and I were living and working in SF at the time and our Nice and Nephew were over often for visits. One weekend we decided to make cheese soup so we gathered up a bunch of different types of cheese and put them in the crock pot. We ended up with a gloppy mass with grease floating on the top of the pot. They laughed so hard I thought they were going to pass out, 'til this day they don't let us live it down. So guess what is showing up in their mail box soon...yep a cheese soup RECIPE and it is a good one. Thanks Chris!

So almost everything is complete and by the end of the afternoon today my DH will indeed have his Kitchen back. He is not a sweet eater so I can't even offer him some goodies to take away some of his pain. Opposites clearly do attract every tooth in my mouth is a sweet tooth.

Merry Christmas EVE!

Sara, I just think it is so great that you have made all your gifts! And I have a similar story about cheese stuff--in college I got a fondue pot. It came with some recipes, so we decided to try one. We lived in a dorm so we were not supposed to have any cooking stuff, and we certainly didn't have any ingredients--we used cracker crumbs for flour and I don't know what all--as you said a gloppy mess that smelled like spit-up! We threw it out!
