PTI Swap Card/Corner Bookmark

I was almost stumped by this round of swapping, I so love to do things with each swap card that is new and creative. This round I came up with a corner bookmark, it is so easy for our DD little J to pull out my bookmarks it makes them almost useless to me this style took her a bit longer to figure out, LOL! And yes, I am a wishful thinking a tad by using PTI's Wishing you set I wish it were tulips covering the ground

My .cut files are distributed free of charge however, since I made this card for this round of PTI swapping to obtain this file I am requiring a few things first, please do the following... Become a follower of my blog, become a follower of Inspired Paper Crafters then come back to this post leave a comment with your contact email and I will send you the file.

Tutorial for Corner Bookmark Card

Cut all pieces using the Cricut .cut file I have created.
Score the tabs of the card front.
Tape the scored tabs on the card front.
Fold the tabs in and adhere the top triangle of the corner bookmark card front.
Place embellishment ribbon on the front layer piece and adhere to the corner bookmark card front.
Finish creating your corner bookmark card front.
Next create the pull out card portion.
Insert the pull out card into the corner bookmark.
Give as a little gifty card make sure you explain how to use the outer portion to the recipient.

I also thought this would be amazing as a Save the Date Corner bookmark card used as a Birthday hat. The inner portion would contain the save the date and the outer portion becomes a child's corner bookmark.

Swap Card

This is a swap card I have been working on, It used the Cuttlebug only, no stamping here today. I embossed the black in the Happy Birthday folder and mounted it on Orchid Opulence. Next I cut purple and green (Green Galore) asterisks flowers and mounted them on the black card stock. I then took my white gel pen and filled in the word Birthday for the last step I mounted some green ribbon on a piece of Orchid paper. Quick and easy, I love it!
You can check out this link here and you will find my SCS challenge card for the day. SC123

cuttle bug swap card Faux Embossing

This is a Cuttle Bug Swap card I have been working on, I think it turned out great, it is always so hard waiting to see what you get in return. Anyhow, this is how the card was made.
I ran the blue through my Xyron before I used the Asterisks Die Cut from Cuttle Bug. Then I took off the Dies and placed them on the blue paper. (My "blue paper" is a retired SU color.) Then I cut the floral Dec paper (from Mike's sale rack also now discontinued) and mounted both these pieces on white card stock. Next I attached Offray ribbon on the back and tied on a bow. This piece of card stock was next mounted on the Celery card. The sentiment was stamped and sponged in Celery then mounted on celery and blue card stock all of the sentiment pieces were punched with the ticket corner punch. I had some trouble with the sticker back card stock cutting all the way through, any ideas? If you do this embossing tech. make sure you use a strong adhesive and get all of the edges for the best effect. Thank you for looking today!

Shoebox swap last card of the week

This Shoebox swap card was prepared by Barb D. It used the DD daisy set that is retired. We Foux stitched on the pixie pink card stock then on the white we stamped the small daisy in pixie and purple (I do not know the correct color). Next the daisy was stamped again in both colors and a black border added. The stems were stamped on Celery with black ink, on my Celery piece I chose to put three black brads using my new piercing template. This was another fun card this week, thanks Barb!
Everyone have a great day, I will be back tomorrow with a new Card of the week!

Shoebox Swap DD Pines

This is another shoebox swap card from this week, this one is by Amy D. (Thank you Amy for a great card!) I have had this set for years, it was originally purchased to do a border in our master Bedroom but I have used it on many cards. I will try and find a photo of the border, it was really cool. This is how she had it set out for us: Moose stamped on Vanilla in CC and twine was taped to the back of the vanilla, then this was mounted on CC paper. Next the garden green was stamped in CC using the pine branch and that was mounted on CC paper. All pieces were mounted to vanilla card stock.

Shoebox Swap Temp Turqouise

This is one of the cards made last night at the shoebox swap. Barb's Sister is in town and this was her swap card, I love it. This is how we made it: first I used Lexicon of Love with Temp. Turquoise on white card stock. Then this was punched out so the main word was centered in the square. Next I used the tag corner punch on the turquoise card stock. The squares were mounted on the tag then using the word window punch on Cool Caribbean and mounted that to the tag with a white square brad. The three tags were mounted on Cool Caribbean with pop dots and Celebrate was stamped in Turquoise. Flowers were punched using the spring Bouquet flower punch and mounted with a pop dot the centers were made with SU gel pen. Next I mounted the cool Caribbean front to Turquoise and placed it on a card. Thanks for a great card! In the next few days I will post more.

Shoe box swap cards for Tuesday

I am getting ready for our Shoe Box swap on Tuesday. This is the card I came up with, I have been playing with the embossing templates all weekend, such fun! One simple tip i have is to save your scraps! My girls and I spent Sunday sorting scraps, I will post a photo later. Now it is fun hunting up a small piece for mounting and I realized that I did have almost every SU color even some retired ones, YES!
For our swap we make three cards per person, you bring everything you need to complete the card you designed. Well thanks to organizing my scraps I had enough to make 15 of this style for the swap, WOW! Here is how I did them: Embossed card stock with Cuttle Bug Happy Birthday folder, stamped image of candles from Tags and more in black Staz-on then I colored them with markers. Sponged the edges and mounted on Pink Passion paper. The happy Birthday saying is from an unknown SU set, (I am lazy don't want to hunt through my catalogs) this was stamped in Tempting Turquoise and edges sponged then mounted on Tempting Turquoise card stock. Simple card yet I love it.

Leonardo Da Vinci

Click the Leonardo da Vinci link above to find out more about one of the Masters.
The photo on the right shows how I found this project unfinished, all pieces were cut I needed to stamp some more pieces and just complete the card, not real hard, wonder what stopped me the first time from completing the project.

I was watching the History Channel a few months back and they were running stories on Da Vinci and his unfinished work. Hum, I thought I could be the next Leonardo with all of the unfinished projects I have. Well, guess not. So then I decided to start finishing some of my piles and wala, today I have six completed cards. I may even send them in to a swap I have not made up my mind on that yet. And what a grand masterpiece they turned out to be.
