LOL, so very funny this week we watched a great Disney movie "Rocket Man". I laughed so hard I thought I would POP, "It wasn't ME"! LOL! My sister called and she informed me that she had seen it a long....time ago, well it is worth dusting off this movie is very funny.

Letter to our Editor
I have typed up a short letter to the editor of our local newspaper in hopes that behavior in Monroe will improve at public events. The second Little J repeated one of the profane words...insert fingers into ears here..."nympho" yeah, I really want my three year old running around town saying that! I felt my temper hit the breaking point, DH kept me contained when I really wanted to get over there and SHUT them UP! This continued through the entire fireworks display with each burst of color came a profane offensive outburst most of the time sexual in nature. Here is my letter...
I usually enjoy the Fireworks display staged by the Monroe Volunteer Fire department, this year was an exception when inebriated onlookers paired the visual display with profane verbal outbursts.
This type of behavior around children, the elderly and families enjoying public events is so discourteous, rude, distasteful, vulgar, offensive, disrespectful, brazen, impolite, unthinkable and downright illicit.
Believe in your morality, you have what it takes to be considerate in public please give reverence a try!
Sara Paschal
I will keep my fingers crossed that the next public event we attend is more respectful.

PTI swap round 4...CAS
Papertrey Ink swap round 4 is now open you can sign up here...
Papertrey Ink Card swap round 4
For this round Steffie1027 is the hostess and she has chosen to do a CAS card swap. Clean and Simple, you can find the blog here...
Clean and Simple you will need to choose a "fall to layout" for this portion of the swap, there is also the Regular card swap running this round.
It is still wet and disorganized around here, does not make anyone feel crafty. There is yet another severe weather threat posted for tonight. I have vowed to take the kids to the neighbors if the tornado sirens sound this time, we will not slop around in the wet basement again. Hopefully DH will have time after work today to get the sump running and start drying it out, the sooner he can do that the faster my craft area can come back together and I can get crafty.
The girls and I did make some Rhubarb Jelly this AM here is the recipe...
5 Cups of cut Rhubarb marinated in 2 cups of sugar (overnight in the refrigerator)
add one more cup sugar
Boil for 10 minutes
Take off the heat and stir in one envelope of unflavored gelatin
Spoon into hot jars, let cool
Keep refrigerated.
YUMMY STUFF!
Have a great weekend!

Water, Water, Water...CANDY!
Going Buggy Blog Candy ends June 30th, run over there today and get your name in for some fine craft products.
Had to dodge more bad weather last night, the trip to the basement was wet. This am when we opened the door again there was well over four inches down there...here we go again. In order to get downstairs we have to move all of my craft supplies off of the cellar door now my craft supplies are spread over the house there won't be much craft time for me the next few days.

Not So Very WILD
Sorry for the crooked piecing of the layout scan, be sure to scroll down the page I have another post from earlier today.
Stamp and Scrap Saturday challenge found here
Anyone who comes in contact with our Little J knows she is WILD and full of energy, this trip was an exception so I thought the title was right on.
This is the first page of a two page layout I am working on for this challenge. It shows off a few of my fave pics from a trip to the Omaha Zoo a few years ago. Little J happened to be sick over that weekend (this was the first time the kid was physically sick) in her first year turned out to be strep infection. She did have fun at the Zoo, she loved riding on the train with Daddy and ONLY Daddy. I think that I why I love the top pic so much she truly is a Daddy's girl. The bottom right pic is of ME petting a SHARK, on a dare from the girls of course

100,000 Blog Hits winner
Yahoo, I have reached one of my blogging goals when the counter rolled over to 100,000 hits. Sherry, is the lucky winner you can find her blog here.
I will be back later on today with my SB page for the new Stamp and Scrap Saturday Challenge. Another slice of goodness I won the prize from them for the last SB challenge. YIPPEE! I was so excited to see the digital stamp set that Sweet and Sassy has come out with called Fluttering By The sentiment from this set Fearfully and Wonderfully made is one of my fave bible verses...
Psalms 139;13-14
For you created my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Our neighbor came over the week after my serious backpain was divereted with a simple yawn and stretch. I told her how it happened and how I was feeling and this scripture is what she had to say to me. I will never forget her stopping by that day;)

Golden Anniversary
My Aunt and Uncle are celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Saturday, I have worked a good part of the week off and on with this card...
Inside of card...
First thing I did was created a .cut file from a card I found on SCS the blog link is here Scrapsofmind.com
50 .cut file download here
This .cut file is not A2 size it was made to fit inside a larger invitation envelope I am not sure of the alpha numeric name for this size but the box says to fit a 4 by 6 photo project.
Next after getting the .cut file down I printed off the photos I found that I wanted to use. On my photo printer I can print 4 photos on one 4 by 6 page, this was a great feature for this project all the photos printed the correct size. I played with them in Picasa editor by turning them all Sepia before printing.
I do have a bit of empty space on the inside I may find another photo or just leave it to show off more of my fave dp Stampin' Up has ever come out with. I tell you I have been hoarding this stuff and this was the perfect project to break it out on. I have said in the past that I do scan in my fave dp stacks so when they retire I can print them out when I need a page for something.

Padded Cinderella
Padded notebook .cut file by Sara Paschal
I think I love to make these as much as the receiver loves to get them. This will be making its way east to a friends DD for her birthday. Every little princess has to have a Cinderella notebook. I cut the gloves over 10 times then just went with the best cut, they are still far from perfect...need more practice.
Below is a shot of the open book with pages in it. I used Blue copy paper that was rescued from a friends burn barrel.
Below is a screen shot of Cricut DS, to get the notebook shape you need to copy, paste then flip on of the images. Next you connect your notebook with a rectangle. Your padded notebook will fit inside, use double stick red liner tape to adhere the pages to the inside.

52 Weeks 52 Sketches week 23
I love this sketch and I brought out my PTI stash of DP I have been hoarding. I love this stuff and am so very sad that they are no longer making the 12 by 12 size. I love this thicker card stock for cricut 3d items and scrapbooking. PTI, if you read this please reconsider the 12 by 12 paper size. The pic is of little J on her Sears photo shoot, the resolution is low (they want you to purchase from them not print your own) but I still wanted to keep all of the pics they took. Last time I checked if you wanted the high resolution pics you had to pay over two hundred bucks for the CD. Well for Little J's book I think just a reminder of how cute she was at this age is fine in the lower resolution. I will link up a pic of the shot we chose for our pic wall.

Johnny Appleseed
When we moved to our home in 2003 there was this homely apple tree on the property. It had been cut way back and DH was not sure if it was going to live. Well you can see in the pic above it did make it, this photo was last spring 2008. The apples have not been good they get full of bugs and fall from the tree before they are ripe. Well it turns out my Sister has the same problem with the apple tree on her property and this is the advice her neighbor gave her...
1C sugar
1 banana peel
1C Apple Cider Vinegar
2C water
1 Gallon Plastic Milk Jug
Rinse out Plastic Milk Jug, fill with ingredients and place the cap on. Cut a dime size hole toward the top of the jug and hang in the tree. The hope is the bugs that usually migrate toward the apples will see this jug as a better treat and become trapped in it.
So we shall see if her neighbor is a Johnny Appleseed, our jug went in the tree this AM.

My Bday Cake...A license to drive
This is the Birthday cake my DH brought home for me on Tuesday, LOL. I loved it, well it being Chocolate helped a bunch. The lady he works with at the grocery came up with the yarn idea, so perfect for this year.
And yes, I have been a bit crabby lately. Who would not be walking around with a broken tooth and a sore back. Okay, probably more disenchanted then crabby waiting for another shoe to drop and something else to go wrong.
On Thursday our DD passed the tests to get her Drivers Permit, she actually drove us around Sioux Falls and then home. Two new disasters, and major freak outs by me but we made it. DH is teaching her, he used to train drivers for a CDL license so he figures he could teach his DD how to drive a car. Good luck, I will make sure to stay home for the next lesson. It is so very hard watching your kids grow wings and start doing what they want to do, ACK time passes very quickly does it not?
Have a great weekend and a Happy Stamp Day!

Proud Mama
I am one Proud Mama;) I taught myself how to make crocheted flowers for my cards along the way taught DD how to make a few stitches and walla this is her purse. She made it in just under three hours, flower by Mom. Keep in mind this is her first attempt at something like this and she is twelve. She would love to read your comments so please if you read this post leave her some love.
DD has also taught her friend how to make a few basic stitches, it is so cute to watch them pick out yarn LOL, so many choices it is hard to decide.
Happy Birthday shout to my friend Dana and to TNB on the SCS forum.

Scrap and Stamp Challenge Page
I did get to complete a few scrap pages over the past weekend this one was for the challenge at Stamp And Scrap...
Have to say the weather in South Dakota has been anything but TROPICAL this is the 8th coldest start to June on record. I actually turned the heat on for a bit Friday and Saturday needless to say the pool has not been used so much this season.
My page was scanned in so I have two scans to piece together as one 12 by 12 page, I have not figured out how to do this seamlessly yet so please take that into consideration when viewing the page below. Part of the challenge was to make the page summer and to use two stamps my stamps were a little wave from Studio G and PTI's Borders and Corners Circle.

Edit, moving up to the top for a reminder...It is my Bday today and I am being lazy I don't have a new blog post to share ;) My Friend Chris has been selected for a Scrapbook Design team and they have launched a new layout you can find it here...

To get a page screen shot on the web you use your PrtSC Key upper right hand side of the keyboard. This copies the screen to your clipboard, next you need to paste the screen into your program and save it. Send as an attachment in email to...

Cinderella for Little J part 2
Edit post to put in photo of 7" cut the right way.
Thank you Reddy in the Cricut forum for your help. I am happy with a 7" cut this am, thank you so very much.
What I learned...
1. No function keys should be lit up when you want to cut a base.
2. Hit the character you want, this will cut the base with the lines for you to line up the cut shapes. (Cut this in BLACK)
3. Continue to cut rest of the pieces as the book instructs you to.
4. I use Tombow Multi adhesive (green lid)
5. A tweezers comes in really handy for the smaller pieces.
6. Use a sharp blade
7. Use the correct speed and pressure for the paper you are cutting.
8. PTI card stock did not cut well with the little cuts a light weight card stock would be better. (this really shows on the gloves where I used Aqua Mist from PTI, click on cinderella for a larger view.)
Cinderella for Little J part 1 link
Below is a comparison of Cinderella from Happily Ever After Cricut Cartridge. I do love it on the black, I still think it is too big of a base so much of the black shows. I have asked the question if black is supposed to show between all of the shapes, to me this would look so very disjointed esp on the arms. You can see on the second attempt where I put the arm pieces joined. UGH, I guess they say third time is the charm I am set to go again later next week.

Coffee/Tea card kit swap
My friend cupojafa over on SCS is hostessing a Coffee/Tea card kit swap, you can find her awesome blog {here}. I fiddled around with the idea of the swap for over a month now, well when my Sister delivered Dreams Come True Cricut Cartridge I knew I was in.
I have seen this cute tea pot invite in the cricut message board and the idea for a shape card came from there. I used DS and the Dreams Come True Cartridge to make the tea pot a2 size shape card.

To color the flowers on the tea pot I actually inked up the sunflower from text box and stamped color into the image, pretty clever if I do say so myself. And yes, that is the tiny tea bag from PTI's Everyday classics set. (I cut it out and took one strand of brown floss to make the hanger, along with the tiniest hole punch I had.)
**Note** this is not my final version for the swap just one of the many I have in my mind to send. Not sure yet what the images are I want to stamp to go with the kit, I may go bitty dots DP and then the tea cup from Everyday Classics?? Who knows, LOL?
Happy Stamp Day!

Cinderella for Little J
Edit post found a helpful thread, you have to be a member of the Cricut Message board to view...
http://www.cricut.com/messageboard/tm.aspx?m=4371610
1) I did not cut the black base
2) I tried to piece on a shadow cut not a base cut
Guess I should look before I leap, LOL. Anyhow, I will try it again using these tips.
I have been playing around with the Happily Ever After Cricut Cartridge my Sister brought over the other day. I am sorry to say, these are the fave images for little J but I can't piece the cuts so they look right and it is hard to get the proper speed and pressure for some of the more intricate cuts. To top it off the choker did not even cut out I had to improvise. Up close this project looks like crap if you hold it away a few feet or take your glasses off it is Okay, LOL! They say right on the box some details are very intricate and will cut best with the expression. I have the expression and cut this out at 10 inches and still had a problem with the pieces, I have totally given up on the A2 shape card I wanted to make her for her birthday...sigh. I ended up taking the photo off the page and just gave her the paper to play with, she sure was happy with it.
So my question to you Cricketers is... my older girls want the Tinkerbell Cartridge, do the same problems exist with this one? They would need the smaller images for cards and to decorate lockers and notebooks with? Any tips and tricks for this type of cartridge would be appreciated.
