Book of Cards

**PER PTI REQUEST OF COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT I HAVE REMOVED MY DS. CUT FILES FOR THE BOOK OF CARDS AND BRING IT ALONG CARDS. I STILL FEEL THAT THE USE OF CRICUT DESIGN STUDIO TO CREATE A .CUT FILE THAT LOOKS LIKE A PRODUCT IS NOT AN INFRINGEMENT I DID NOT PURCHASE OR USE ANY OF THEIR DESIGNS, IT TOOK ME DAYS AND HOURS TO FIGURE OUT THESE .CUT FILES FOR MYSELF AND MAKE THEM THE WAY I WANTED THEM TO LOOK**

Here are some photos of my Book card holder completed. I used my Design Studio .cut file (you can find the download posted above under blog header). This set of cards will be headed to my DH's great aunt. As you know I have had a bad week and just getting back into stamping I kept these cards really simple and just put on the PTI DP cut to 4" by 5 /4" on most of the A2 card fronts then adhered the same DP to the back flap of the envelope a simple stamped sentiment on the inside and I had 6 cards and envelopes in little time.

April PTI Blog Hop...Let's Play!

DH and I enjoy playing cards with friends our favorite game is Spades. One night a few years ago DH was still a heavy smoker and stepped out for a smoke break. We stacked the deck to give him the optimal run the deck hand. He comes back in looks at his cards pats them into a stack and says "LET's Play". LOL, we let him take his run then told him when he was done that he had some help with it, still laugh thinking about it. Anyhow this take along tote is perfect for game nights it holds a pen, notepad, deck of cards and a nutty treat. If you score 3/4" twice on each since you get a perfect pocket for the small PTI Glassine Bags full of nuts. Perfect way to tote along a nice set of cards the kids have not found and used ;)

BUI and some TY's

I have been flat on my back since Wed morning, I went to sit down to start some first cuts on my new PTI look alike template on the Cricut and ended up on my hands and knees unable to move. DH got me up and to the ER where I was pumped full of Morphine, Valium and Dilaudid and sent home almost six hours later...UGH. Dh had to take a day off of work to sit at home and babysit me, so can't tell you how pathetic that makes me feel. Today is the first day I have tried to shower and sit up, figured I better get it done before dh goes to work. The girls will have to babysit there Mom today I am sure that makes them feel about as good as it makes me feel. D

Don't have my project ready for the blog hop, hopefully I can show it to you next week. I better get off for now before they issue me a ticket for blogging under the influence.

A huge TY going out to my PTI Secret sis stephie1027, I so loved your tote of cards and the color combo so ROCKIN' I totally loved it brightened my horrible days with something so very beautiful. Thank you so much for the paper and ribbon and goodies you have sent with it. As soon as I am up to it I will leave a comment in the tread,Did you photograph it? I hope you did need to show it off and I don't have a camera.

Wanda, WOWzer you sent a beautiful package of goodies can't wait to get to feeling better and did into that box. TY so very kind.

Happy Earth Day!

Nothing crafty to share this AM, Little J and I went to town on Tuesday to see Grandpa and Grandma. Little J had a fun time chasing the Easter Bunny out of Grandpa's garden and down the block. ACK, she would still be running if she had not tripped over a driveway. (She was not hurt but she stayed down til I caught up to her.) Grandma got to visit a neighbors house she had never been in before because Little J wanted to see the cats.

We are going green today with the reclamation of some railroad ties to line the new drive with a flower bed. Grandma gave us some flower bulbs to plant and the weather is going to be great here this afternoon. FINALLY ;)

Want to find some ways for your family to go green visit...

This past year here are some of the steps we have taken to green up around our home.

1) More cold water washes Tide for Cold water really works great with our rural water. I do still wash towels and linens in HOT water.

2) Wash one load of clothes per day, there is five of us in the house it got the girls to cut back on what was considered dirty and now they wear a hoodie two or three times before it hits the laundry basket, jeans maybe a couple of times.

3) DH bought a water cooler for the house so we don't purchase as much bottled water. Instead we recycle plastic bottles or use drinking glasses well at home.

4) We have replaced all the old fashioned bulbs in our home.

5) I clean less with bleach now after little J decided to drink some last fall. Now I clean with baking soda and vinegar you will be surprised how well the combo really does clean. I did break down and purchase one bottle of bleach this past month but one bottle compared to one a week that is a huge change.

Some plans for the upcoming year...
1) Clothes Line for the backyard

2) Homemade Laundry soap
Powdered Detergent
2 cups finely grated soap
1 cup washing soda
1 cup borax
1. Mix well and store in an airtight plastic container.
2. Use 2 tablespoons per full load.

3) This is big for me drink less Mt. Dew that will save us cans, bottles and the all the packaging. Not to mention the wear on my teeth and the addition of body weight.

4) Another biggie for us switch the way we carry groceries home. We still use the bad way of plastic bags ( I know, I know) we really need to stop this. When we shop we shop for the month, I think it is time to bring back some cardboard boxes instead of using the plastic or start replacing with some of the reusable bags now available.

5) Cut back on our weekly output of garbage by doing more recycling of everything from clothes, shoes, plastic, glass etc. I now save all our pickle, spaghetti sauce glass etc to etch and turn into little treat jars for gift giving.

Bottom line is there are changes to be made all around us from simple to more advanced. If we all start with something simple a huge difference can be made.

Happy Earth Day!

Bring it Along Card Case DS .cut file by Sara Paschal

Okay, I promise I will try hard to have a camera by the blog hop scanning things just does not do the project justice AT ALL. This Case is so cute, I even had cards on hand in the colors so I just worked out the Case and my .cut file.

Going forward you will find links to my DS .cut files at the top of my Blog, I hope to create more in the near future to share with you. Please do not forward my .cut file, send interested requests here to my posted download link. All files were created by Sara Paschal if you use my .cut file please leave a link to your project so I can see your creation.

You will need...
Cricut Expression or Baby Bug my file will work with either.
Cricut George Cartridge
Cricut Design Studio free Download found {here}

You will need to cut two of these on for the front and one for the back. Score each at 8".

Below you see a cut and scored pocket...score your pocket at 1/2" and at 1" on three sides, cut the corners out and place your red liner tape. This will become your outer pocket, you can either cut one just for the front or cut two so you have one on the back.

This screen shot shows you the cover that will fit a Mead Memo pad 3" by 5" you will need to score it on one end at 3/4" and 1".

Enjoy, I had fun trying to figure this out it has been the most involved project I have created myself with Cricut Design Studio. Included in the .cut file you will find two different covers and two different decorator front panels one with a scallop and one rectangle. Also a RSVP pen cut so you can match your memo pad and pen.

More SB pages of Mom and her family

The pages I am sharing today are of my Mom with her Sister My Aunt Shirley. Today is the 15 year anniversary of my Mother's passing, she was laid to rest exactly one year to the day her loving Sister past away. And who says people can't die from a broken heart?

You also see my Mom below with two of my Nieces she loved to have the grand kids over we always had such fun, and game playing was always a piece of that fun.

Then there is Grandma Smith she taught my Mom to sew and My Mom taught me. My fave were the dresses she would make and then the Barbie clothes they were so cute. Grandma's name still comes up in the quilting circle at St. Johns Lutheran she was so loved there.

There are not many pics around of all five of us kids, my brothers and sisters are older and most of my memories they were moved out already. The one you see below with Grandpa and Grandma Smith is one of my faves. LOL, LOL look how my older sister and brother were dressed ;) I am old enough to remember those bell bottom pants getting stuck in my bike chain but, her dress is killing me.

He is risen!

Matthew 28:1-10
After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."

So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me."

CupCake Boxes for Easter

I found these beautiful cup cake boxes made by Jen C over at Jen's Brain Things, she is so very kind about sharing her Cricut Cut Files just leave a comment at the end of the post of the cut file you wish to have and she will get back to you.

These are going to our friends for Easter the boys have the chocolate boxes with the Reese egg on top and the girls have the sprinkles. (I learned my lesson from my Nephews at Christmas with the pink so I am sure the boys would not enjoy the pastel sprinkles.)

The DP and card stock is a mixture of odds and ends that I used to complete the boxes. Before the left I used the doodle charm Cartridge to cut a bunny head for the top of each box.

Easter Blessings...Good Friday

Mark 15:33-34, 38-39 And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?...And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom. And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God!

Have a blessed day!

SCA3C19 Rasbperry Fizz Mix notebook and card

I was given a beautiful notebook from my friend Chris and I have been wanting to make some of my own for a long time now. Here is my notebook you can find her's here. Chris uses a Jr. Legal pad that she had cut down at an office supply store for just a few dollars per cut. My pad is a bit different I purchased mine at local stationary store, it is not lined and a tad thicker then the jr. legal pad but was purchased locally to give our hometown business a boost in sales. I have totally been trying to make purchases closer to home and have gone back to good old American Made products. Yes, I inquired about PTI everything they offer is made is the USA except for the RIBBON.

Here is a link also to Latisha's notepadBoth of these gals have much better photos then can scan in my notebook and are totally worth checking out.

I have such beautiful DP from PTI that I have not really used, I challenged you along with myself this week to break open the pack and get busy. The card above is one of my faves that I created on Monday. With all of the cards I created today I left them blank so I can put in a sentiment when needed.
