Snowflake WW Card

I have to say Cricut has blown me away with the Winter Woodland Cartridge it has quickly become my favorite. For this card I used one of the snowflakes (I think number 4) and the card function at 4 1/4 inches. The card was cut on PTI's Ocean Tides Card stock and then layered with PTI's shimmer white, before I layered I ran the front of the card through the CB folder Snowflakes and inked the edges.

Warm Winter Wishes

Thanks to my swapping friends SGC and CraftyCrunchyMama on SCS I have some images from the PTI set Holiday Button Bits. This Gingerbread is one of my faves the snowman and Santa are also ver CUTE! Wow, where to begin I really love the extras on this creation. First I put Crackle medium over the entire gingerbread and let dry, it turned out looking like it just came from the oven YUMMY. Next I took some pearlized puff fabric paint and painted on the details of the gingerbread man and put a few more details around the card. The tag was cut on the Cricut Expression using the Center point function and Winter Woodland Cartridge. No cookie baking this holiday here at our home DH's blood test did not change this time so his levels are still considered high. He will have to return in three months, if the levels are not sufficient at that time he will have to start insulin. He was also put on a blood pressure med this time around I tell you they might as well move the walmart pharmacy to our home!

Produt list...
PTI Holiday Button Bits, scarlet jewel buttons, ribbon and card stock
Bazzil Bling Card stock
Corner rounder
Cricut Expression
Winter Woodland Cartridge
Puff paint
Crackle Glaze by Ranger Ink

Meet Mr Vicious

You can tell our old man is still not feeling 100 percent but he is so much better then he was two weeks ago. He is starting to put on weight and behaving better inside the house. It is a must now that little J keeps her toys pick up for an old man he sure loves playing with the dollies LOL! Do you love his gray beard or what I have to laugh every time he comes up for a kiss.

I have a card done waiting for more sun to come out so I can figure out the best settings for a card pic hopefully get it up for you later today.

Season's Greetings cling vinyl

I had some learning to do with this stuff, then I was horrified when I realized the Names I mailed out to my friends children would not stick the way they were cut. (Don't worry I am making up some new goodies and these will be really cool)

So with the cling vinyl (does not have an adhesive back) it is supposed to cling on glass, mirror etc.

1) If you take it straight from the carrier sheet and place it on your cutting mat the cling side will face the outside of a window. So when you are looking in the image appears correctly.

2) If you take the cling and flip it before you place it on your cutting mat the cling side will face to the inside of a window. So when you are looking out the image appears correctly.

I thought it was just not clingy because I had paper fibers on my cutting mat and they transferred to the cling, not so there is a right and a wrong side to this stuff. The cut I am showing today was at 5 1/2" it is the plain cut and the shadow blackout button (yep, I should have used a color other then green for the shadow blackout because now the leaves don't show up well) the berries are some leftover bling I had sitting on my desk. This is sticky on the letter side so it resides on our back door so people can see it when the come in. I am going to be working on some for our big picture window, I should have the routine down on this stuff now.

I purchased my Grafix cling Vinyl sheets here

Winter Woodland Seasons Greetings

Cricut has a beauty of a cartridge in Winter Woodland, I am so blessed that my Sister is letting me use it I have been having a ton of fun. Next on my list is to give the 3d houses a try but for today I am showing you the cardnial, pine bough and Seasons Greetings sentiment. So very sorry I did not write down the cut sizes I do remember the bird was at 2 1/2 inches and the other cuts in the same ball park. There is lots of shimmer and sparkle on this beauty here is how I put the dimension on my creation.

1) inked up the snowflake CB embossion folder with PTI's white snow pad and embossed the card stock.

2) Next I applied shimmer mist in silver and let dry.

3) My next step was to place on some stickles and let dry. At this point I decided to stickle all of the embellies and the sentiment.

4) The Season's sentiment is glued to the card stock while the Greetings is elevated with dimensional dots.

Altered Legal Pad PTI Swap

Link to PTI card and Notebook swap hosted by Craftycrunchymama on SCS This round has just opened we would love to have you join us.

$8.00 Notebook swap, LOL! The swap girls are probably sick of me calling them the $$ notebooks but I find the exchange so ridiculous I can't get it out of my head. (A known paper crafter sells these altered notebooks on Etsy and people actually pay the $8.00 listed price...some people need a reality check don't they?) Okay, I have it for them...
Staples Receipt for 12 jr legal pads staples brand with two cuts and tax totalling

$11.65
divided by
24 (the amount of cut pads you have in the end)
equals
$.4854
or 49 cents per 1/2 legal pad (this is your main cost for this project.
You then get two covers from a 8 1/2 by 11 standard piece of card stock we will use PTI's price of per sheet of $.18 (when you buy the 50 pack) so cost per project $.09
PTI's price for DP (1 8 by 8 sheet) $.22 and you can get 3 projects from 1 sheet so a final cost of $.07 so lets do the math for the cost of paper product used in this project...

.49 (notebook)
.09 (card stock)
.07 (dp)
.65 (total cost of paper product used per project)

**Note, I have not included price for any products other then the cost of paper**

There you have it my trip back to the reality of a Midwestern small town girl who would NEVER pay $8.00 for one stack of paper, now do you see my humor in it all?

Here is my finished altered notebook for this swap round *I will be replacing the pen with an RSVP brand pen* I donated some note pads such as these in October to the Nursing Home my friend was joking that I need a ball chain to attach the pens so they would know where they are LOL. I took her seriously thinking she was onto something here and wanted to figure out a nice looking way to attach a pen to this style of altered pad. Here is what I did...
save the bottom scrap piece of card stock
punch the outer card stock on the back seam with SU's slot punch
thread the card stock through then adhere to the inside back cover
place in the cut notepad
make two score lines 1/2" apart
attach the other end to the outside front cover
adhere your decorator piece of dp
there you have it a notepad with attached pen;)

Product list...
jr. legal pad cut in half
PTI scarlet jewel card stock, ribbon and ink
PTI stamp set Sweet Love
Bo bunny dotted dp
BasicGrey Bittersweet DP
SU slot punch
SU scallop circle punch
1 1/2" circle punch

I also ran the assembled Joy cut through the Swiss Dot embossing folder before applying to card.

Give Thanks to the Lord and more...

The highlight of last week for me was to brighten the days of the Nursing Home Residents, this is the third year God has blessed my life with the ability to do this. Little J was upset and crying because of the H1N1 she could not enter with me and had to sit in the car with Dad, she wanted to say, "hi" to the Grandpa's and Grandma's inside. Usually we go on Halloween and hand out the cards as treats they love the added bonus of seeing the costumes and are a bit confused when the girls are not there looking for candy and instead they have a treat to give. And giving is such a treat and leads me down the path to some thank yous here is mine...

Faith Sisters 12 Days of Christmas Week 1

What a wonderful Challenge you can find over at Faith Sisters they will be hosting a 12 days of Christmas Challenge with free digital download kits to go with each day. What a Glorious Gift this first kit is AMAZING and you can find it here...
Faith Sisters Pear Tree and I also have a blog link button in my sidebar, go check it out it is a wonderful site packed of YUMMY digi treats and challenges.
Challenge info found here
Here is what they have to go along with the Pear Tree Digital kit to show how it goes along with CHRISTmas (this is taken from there site).

This week's challenge is hosted my Susan Godfrey, from Simply Susan Designs and features the first verse:

On the first day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
A partridge in a pear tree.

I know, I had a hard time figuring out how a partridge and a pear tree could represent anything scriptural, so I was surprised to learn that you really can tie them to Scripture.

THE PARTRIDGE: The partridge in a pear tree is Christ Jesus upon the Cross. In the song, Christ is symbolically presented as a mother partridge because she would feign injury to decoy a predator away from her nestlings. She was even willing to die for them.

THE PEAR TREE: The tree is the symbol of the fall of the human race through the sin of Adam and Eve. It is also the symbol of its redemption by Jesus Christ on the tree of the Cross.

MY TRUE LOVE: True Love refers to God

For a limited time, you can download this digital mini kit for FREE
