SCA03 Flourished Baroque Motifs and Cupid
Here is a sample digi card I made using my SCA03 sketch from the other day. I made it in my Scrapbook Factory Program and it is a regular A2 size. Again the flourishes in this card are from the font PanHead and the Cupid is from a Wingding (I will have to go back and look this one up for you it was a fairies but I can't remember more then that).
The pink you see is actually a swatch of PTI it is the Berry Sorbet. If you go to Papertrey ink and save the color swatches you can work with the PTI colors digitally, I think this is fun I so adore PTI's Perfect Match colors.
And above you see a card I made with the sketch using SU's Baroque Motif stamp set. Again I used PTI Berry Sorbet and Palette Noir. I used the rock and roll technique on the flowers to make them pop a bit.

SCA03 Flourished
I am so disappointed in my scanner I did not want to post another pathetic looking image so I have made you another sketch instead. In honor of PTI's new sympathy set (can't wait to get my hands on this one) just a few more days to go for Jen's challenge. Silent Night also has a beautiful flourish along with SU's Baroque Motifs.
Do you have a favorite flourish? Please leave me a comment in this post if you know of more I would love to check them out.
The flourish I used in creating my card is called Panhead, the bracket strokes make these beautiful flourishes, I was so happy to find this font ;) and the best part is it was free (If you wish to use for commercial use you will have to get permission from the font creator

Bella Rose Floral Frenzy
I so can't wait to get a new digital camera, I am very sick of this scanner and its inability to scan color images. This card is beautiful IRL the colors go so amazingly well together, I did stamp the flower centers they are done in PTI's sweet blush and that color is not even showing up here. The fold part of the card is where the flowers are stamped, I love this card style and have used it a ton lately. I made it a Sketch challenge a few weeks ago, you can find that post here SCA01

Get Well Wishes... ribbon slider
Yikes, the colors are way off on the scan for this photo. IRL this card looks so darn cute I love these PTI colors in combination.
The ribbon slide was designed by ME using Cricut Design Studio and George Cartridge. If you wish to have this cut file just leave me a comment in this post and I will send you the download link.
I designed the slide so the PTI ribbon would fit perfectly and not fold up in the slots, so happy with myself on this one.

Got Skates?
It was so fun to see our little J on skates. She took to the rink like a pro and after just a few minutes she wanted nothing to do with the walker. However, she did want to go and join the hockey players. She flirted with them a bit and totally made her sister jealous. Who would have thought at the tender age of 3 one could skate...Oh, how fun it would be again to have the inhibitions of a child.
The older girls had never tried the sport before and were having a difficult time just standing up.
As a kid I used to skate the winter away, going to have to get a signed confession from Grandpa for my Girls to believe me. I was dreaming of putting the skates on and gliding over the ice, I was so good at it. Seems like that was a lifetime ago, I was terrified yesterday of just slipping on the ice. My sister and I would put our skates on at the house and walk for blocks to get to the rink. Some weekends our friends parents would take us out to a farm and we would skate on a stream or stock pond. My Grandpa used to live in town and when we would visit him my sister and I would go skate the river that runs through the park. So funny that my girls can't even conceive the thought.

Color Challenged
Coloring images is totally not my favorite thing to do. With our last PTI swap we actually swapped some stamped images. This one is Lilly, I think it is Pink Cat Studio image. So Amy and Angela this card is for you ;)
For this card I actually used PTI reinkers in Spring Moss and Aqua Mist, 3 drops into each aqua painter filled 1/4 full with water. **The aqua painters did take on this ink so going forward they can only be used for that particular color.** I did find this to be a fun way to color in the images since PTI does not have markers etc., gives you another option.

A CASE of Floral Frenzy
I so enjoy doing our PaperTrey Ink swaps, there are so many great cards that come in that my CASE file is packed full of things to do. This card is a case from Round 8 made by Cllstamper. Up 'til this swap every card has been photographed and placed into its own swap album (lack of camera is making this swap a bit tougher to compile an album). If you would like to CASE a few PTI cards these swap albums are a great place to start. Click on the justtieszen link in my sidebar to take you to the albums along with (cupojafa, amystamper and Chrys23. We are going to be finishing up round 1 for the year on Feb 9th be on the lookout for round 2 to open in Feb.

Take Note
I wanted to share with you this week my altered clamshell from my SU wood mounted stamps. I can't get a scan worth sharing so you will have to wait 'til I purhcase a new camera. Sorry, it is going to be worth the wait...
I have trouble remembering anything and our DD has told me to, "just write it down Mom.". I want to learn more about the Cricut before I make any purchases, there are so many great sites to shop and learn about this wonderful Bug that I made a new comp book just to keep track of it all. Best thing when I get ready to shop I will know what I NEED and what to look for. If you wish to find some Cricut info and get your bug a chirping I have created some links specially for the Cricut in my sidebar.
This bug was a cut file from Busy with the Cricky I ended up cutting two bugs one for my notebook and one for our DD she so loves the bug as well.

Pizza Block Party
In the words of David Letterman, "Cut me a slice of that". In this post I have used the wooden blocks that my "So Sweet" stamp set was mounted on last week. I then downloaded the adjustable Pizza Box Cut file (link found below) and adjusted it to where my four blocks would fit. The top of the pizza box inside reads..."thinking of you today" with a layered smaller flower from floral frenzy. Sorry the photo of the open box is messed up I tried a few times to get it to work and they were all a blur.
I knew because of my back and hips with one side hurting more then the other I tend to walk and sit crooked, I did not know it lead me to see crooked also. LOL!! I swear I can't scan a straight image. Anyhow these blocks were done for Jen, she had asked earlier if anyone had unmounted SU stamps. Now it turns out she has done some and also has a project in the works. I told her she was still getting these because they had her name on them, also because I broke out the Modge Podge for them (I really hate that stuff). Some assembly required.
How to alter the wood blocks...
1. Un-mount your stamps as I previously have shown
2. Remove any remaining adhesive left of the block
3. Sand lightly if they are stained or have initials on the wood
4. Apply two coats of acrylic paint
5. Cut your DP the size of a block (all blocks are not the same size)measure them all, stamp our decorate your DP
6. Adhere with Modge Podge
7. Apply two coats of Modge Podge over the entire block
8. drill small hole on top of block
9. Bend 16 gauge wire in a loop to make your photo holder
10. Bead the wire
11. Apply small amount of adhesive to the final bead and wooden block to support the wire.
12. Place your elements in your loop (here I show a butterfly, I imagined her placing some wonderful cropped photos that she has).
13. You could connect them in a line with E6000 adhesive, I did not
For the Pizza Box...
I am totally Jazzed about this one, I actually found a cut file for the Cricut. If you wish to have it go to this blog Scrapped Lives look for the Pizza Box post and leave a comment with your email and she will send you the link.
Now there is a tutorial on SCS for this as well, I did not look it up because I now have this awesome cut file. If I get time I will seek out the link and post for you.
All I had to do was turn on the Cricut, cut the box, score on the score pal and assemble. No measuring, no hand cutting this was truly a dream, LOVE IT!

Cuttlebug "Large" flower Die
I love it when PaperTrey Ink designs a flower that will fit into a cuttlebug die it makes your project so much more interesting. You know that I use my cuttlebug dies with my "Original Sizzix" Yep, that is right I have not purchased the actual Cuttlebug yet. At times I can't get a good clean cut on the first try, so I try again leading to the image slipping and cutting or embossing in a different spot causing me to have to start the process all over again. Same goes for the Nesties...
Well, I have been playing around with the Cricut again and Design Studio and I came up with the perfect flower cut to match the "Largest" flower out of the set of four. This is the flower I use the most so it is the first one I tried to recreate. Have to say it has saved me much time and wasted card stock.
So you have a Cricut and Design Studio software and wish to have this cut file? You can email me at Paschal.sara@gmail.com with the words Cuttlebug large flower in the subject line and I will email you the link back. You will need George and Basic Shapes Cartridge and I use the baby bug.
Here are some cards I made with this die flower and PTI stamps...

Miracles and Awards
I usually don't post on Saturday but I just have a couple of things to share today that are not crafty just thoughts. First I wish to start off with a plane crash...
Can you imagine how you would feel if you were on a plane and you know it was going to crash. Can you imagine being the pilot of that plane. We were shown a Miracle on Thursday when all passengers and crew escaped from such a plane into the freezing waters of the Hudson. In one word MIRACLE!
Do you know what the one Miracle was in each of the four gospels- other then the resurrection? It is the Miracle of Jesus feeding the five thousand and asking the simple question "How many loaves do you have?". Got to admit most of the time I don't realize how many loves I have, I don't realize what I can do with the loaves I do have. It is really hard to get caught up in WHY ME, why do I have to hurt every day of my life, why is my ability to walk being taken away from me,why does the medicine I take make me not feel well, why can't I keep up with our 3 year old, why does out teenager have to give us so much grief? I think this way and my loaves disappear. For the New Year I have been thinking of ways to share my loaves, papercrafting is one of those ways I am so happy I am able to share that loaf with you.
1) How many loaves of bread were created on Thursday after the Miracle plane crash?
2) How many loaves of bread do you have?
3) Let's feed the people around us in 2009, let's share our loaves!
This next subject I don't talk about much it is hard enough in our home at this time when Democrats and Republicans are bashing heads. You see I am a Democrat and my DH is a Republican we can't have a conversation about politics without angry words to each other being said so we just don't say anything. I am so quick to shush DH when he talks about Obama or Tuesday (I have chosen my words wisely for 8 years, he should do the same for me for the next 8 ;) So I just want to share how excited I am for history to be made on Tuesday, and excited for our United States to create change and share our loaves. What would I do if I were President, I would throw all the banks, car companies and corrupt enterprises into the Hudson and see who can swim and who will sink. I would not bail anyone out, the cream rises to the top and I believe out of the ashes flies the Phoenix. This is the last I am going to say about this subject here on my blog.... GO-BAMA!

So Sweet PTI CASE
My apologies for this photo, the scanner does not do justice to any creations I suppose it would help if I could get the card to stay straight to complete the scan or play with the colors some when it is finished.
Here is the So Sweet Stampin' Up set that I unmounted the other day. I have not used it in a very long time, possibly because it involves different colored markers to color in. For this card though I just used my PTI ink pads and went for a messy blended look. LOL!! Anyhow, IRL this card looks fab and it is a total case of Joannhw's card in the round 10 PTI Swap Album. Her card is so beautiful, I loved the layout and her color combo thought it would go great with the strawberry from the So Sweet set. There is not many things better in life then Chocolate Covered Strawberries well okay, chocolate covered anything is pretty darn YUMMY!
Product list...
PTI Card stock, ink and ribbon
SU So Sweet Stamp Set
SU scallop border punch
SU scallop circle punch
1 1/4" circle punch
1/8" hole punch

Un-mounting Stampin' Up Stamps
**Disclaimer**I know this is going to cause some of you to FREAK OUT, and I would have done the same thing just a few years ago. I to was a die hard Stampin' Up Fan, I would only purchase stamps from this company I enjoyed the style, the matching paper and ink along with my Demo and her creative ideas. I am not nor have I been a stampin' up demo on the other hand I have been a paper crafter and scrapbooker for over 14 years so I bring my experience and my stamping style into this conversion.
Readers of my blog know that I have fallen in love with a stamp company called Papertrey Ink. I so enjoy the stamp sets they produce the new ink they have mastered and the coordination of paper and ribbon colors - this ink it is just divine, there are no other words to describe it.
If you would have asked me before I found this company if I would ever use anything else my answer would have been NO. So for the past few years since finding Splitcoast stampers on the Net I have been trying different stamps, different DP's and so on. For the most part I keep coming back to PTI. In this process I also purchased some Stampin' Bellas they come as rubber, unmounted stamps. Whith them I would use my Scotch brand Double Sided Tape and the acrylic PTI stamping blocks. They worked on the other hand I don't like to color images so I don't purchase these stamps anymore and I have sold mine. If there is an image I would like I ask for it in the SCS user forum Wish RAK.
There has been some talk in our PTI swap thread about unmounting su stamps. I have done this in the past to make corrections to trimming or image placement on the wooden blocks but never before have I removed them for ever that is until this past week. I took a so so stamp set that I don't use much but is in my keep pile and totally unmounted it from the wood block and the foam. Here is how it is done...
1. heat your wood block mounted stamp in the microwave for 10 seconds
2. remove your stamp from the wood block
3. place stamp in microwave for another 10 seconds then remove the foam backing
4. take rubbing alcohol to remove any leftover sticky residue on the stamp back
5. mount to a CD case with double sided sticky tape, I use Scotch Brand
or
5. mount with easy mount for a more permanent mount of your stamps
6. remove image sticker from wood block while it is still warm and place on the front of your cd case
7. remove name sticker from your storage box and place on the spine of the CD
Now you have unmounted your stamps and are ready to create. I have more alterable items in my stash from the conversion, coming up I will show you how to reuse your wooden blocks and your storage containers.
What are your thoughts on this subject I would love to hear them...

Faves of 2008 and more
So as I was cleaning up my stamping space for the New Year I was looking at the things I don't ever use and the items I use all of the time. My fave craft items of 2008 were...
Scor Pal
ATG 714
PTI ink pads, card stock and ribbon
PTI Flower Garden stamp set
SU Scallop Circle punch
SU scallop border punch
SU Bella Rose DPA2 envelopes
Scotch Double stick tape
Tombo Multi
Items that did not rock my crafting world...
Nestabilities Dies, Why? I think it is because I use my Regular Sizzix with them and I do not have much luck with them cutting on the first few tries. They do work with the Sizzix just not very well.
SU One of a Kind punch, hard to line up the flowers correctly and when you do get them to punch they fly all over the place.
What is on my list for 2009....
ATG tape refills
Scotch Double sided tape
Tombo Multi Adhesive
A2 envelopes
Anything PTI
I won Flower Frenzy stamp set from PTI that will be in the mail soon, YIPPEE!
Copic Markers
Marvy Clever Lever Punches
Cricut Expressions
Cricut Cartridge (Boxes bags and tags)...those who know me best know I can't wrap a package to save my soul this would be the best investment of the year and beyond!!
I would love to hear your faves and your want lists...

Power of Prayer
I was Blurfing over the New Year Holiday and found a site (should have wrote it down) talking about keeping track of your prayers for the New Year and how God answers them. I don't so much want to see if they go answered or not but keeping my prayer journal has been great at keeping my prayers on track and helps me to remember all that I have on my list.
Romans 12:12 Be joyful in hope...faithful in prayer.

Cricut Design Studio
Okay, never have I admitted before to having OCD when it comes to my crafting until today. I have not gone to bed, you can hear the chirp of the Cricut ringing through the house and my mind is on full speed ahead. New Years Day I spent my time organizing my craft area doing so I brought the Cricut out of the computer cabinet to my work table and hooked it up to my laptop. I downloaded the free Design Studio months ago and never played with it until yesterday.
There is a link in my sidebar that has the Cricut Logo, click on this link to take you to the web page where you can find the free version of the Design Studio (This version will only work with the George Cartridge, you will need to purchase the full version to use your other cartridges). Warning, once you click you may not quit ;)
Here is a flower frame made with the Design Studio and the George Cartridge, you can find the cut file for this frame {here} at Paper, Scissors, Ink. I cut my frame on SU's Rose Red Card Stock.
Here is my card, mind you it is not finished yet I will put some bling into the flower centers and place some ribbon. (Because of the lack of camera I can't get a good scan with a bulky card.) I may replace the center image with the sentiment stamped on a plain piece of card stock not sure if I am used to busy backgrounds yet for sentiments.
Such a fun card to make, I love my new discovery.
supply list...
SU card stock
PTI ink and images
Gingerbread Stamp Sentiment
Scallop card Sizzix Bigz Dies
Cricut
Cricut Cartridge George

Stamping top 51
Here is the story about Stamping top 50, I have been up then down in the ranks. It frustrated me so much that I had to move my counter to the bottom of my sidebar because I did not like to look at it every time I loaded my page. Much to my amazement as I was doing more tweaking to my blog I realized that today I had made it back up to the top 51. My Blogger friend Wanda has taught me much and coached me through my first few years here for my blog and I really want to thank her for all of her help and tips. I have been teaching myself html codes so I am sure you have noticed my blog changing a bunch and expect it to keep changing as I learn more and my creative style changes. Not bad for someone who continually fell asleep in her college computer classes ;)
To ice the cake last night I had a post in the SCS PTI swap forum from a fellow swapper that reads....
Sara-
I just wanted to send you a bizarre, but huge thank you! I decided to visit your blog again tonight after not visiting in ages. I was having a rough evening and started playing a few tunes on your playlist that have restored my confidence and made me feel a thousand times better. Bet you never expected anyone to tell you that, eh? Thanks!
Sarah
This is the most excitement I have had with my blog in a long time. Thank you Sarah for your kind comments.
So for the fun part I have some blog candy for you. Leave a comment here in this post of what you like best about my blog changes and what you may want to see go by the wayside. I will draw a random winner on Monday AM for a DP prize package. (Sorry about no photo, Hey I should go try my camera again maybe I have more lucky Karma coming my way).

Since my Camera is down and will be for sometime I decided to start off the New Year by giving you some layouts to use. Please leave a comment with a link back to your creation if you decide to play along.
For this card the center folded focal strip should measure
8 1/4" by 2 3/4" scored in the center and then it will fit perfectly layered on your card back. Below you can see a poorly scanned image of what my beautiful card looks like. The butterfly portion of the card is where you will find the sentiment.
I wish I could share with you the card that I made in this style but it is so very bulky and would not scan into the computer correctly. So be creative and show me what you can do...
