Ticket to a Happy Birthday

This is the first creation I have made in WEEKS and I had a great time with some new goodies. I bit the bullet and went back to SU classic ink, I am so very upset that PTI scrapped their hybrid ink and I lost a HUGE investment with all the full ink pads and matching card stock and DP (How can you have a perfect match with no ink? IMPOSSIBLE my friends).

Product list...
PTI Just the Ticket and Everyday Classics stamp sets, buttons, bling, ticket die
Stampin' Up top note die, embossing plate, In color ink and card stock and DP, Crochet Ribbon
Marvy scallop circle punch

Jorie, Beauty of Spring

I have praised this CD ever since my friend set it to me a few weeks back. Please, take this link and give it a try the girls and I love her.
http://www.myspace.com/joriemusic
Our fave songs on Songs of Deliverance are

Song for My Soul
Songs of Deliverance
okay, okay ALL OF THEM;)

Go, Go Go you won't be disappointed you may even get up and Dance.

Here are the words to Song For My Soul by Jorie...

Let it rise when your hope is gone
Let it rise when your barely hanging on
Let it rise sunset and sunrise
Let it rise, yes.

Let it rise standing on a Mountain Peak
Let it rise in the valley cold and bleak
Let it rise in life or death
Let it rise with your very last breath.

And peace will follow you and the peace will follow you

Let it rise when you see a perfect sky
Let it rise when those dark clouds race by
Let it rise when your young or old
Let it rise when you see the streets of gold

And peace will follow you

And you don't understand why your problems won't end and the night only brings more pain but, hold on my dear friend this is not how it ends and your joy will come in with the morning.

Let it rise...

My friend sent this cd to me when I confided in her that my faith was waining this winter, let me just say it was a very Long Cold Winter. She pointed out to me "it is really, really hard to make sense out of things that don't make sense, and try to reconcile all of that with the idea of a Loving God..." she went on to say if it takes me yelling and screaming at God and getting angry then do it because he already knows what I am going to say and do. So I have many thanks for my beautiful Friend to pull me back to where I know I should be and keep Letting it Rise even when all hope is gone and I am barely hanging on.

Sketch 2

You can find a link at the top of my blog to this round of PTI swapping over on Splitcoast. This round Chris has posted two sketches along with the regular card swap...today I am showing you my card for the second sketch. I am not used to the shabby style of stamping yet in fact little J (now nicknamed teacup) asked me why I was getting the cards dirty I suppose it is confusing to her the lengths I go to so they stay clean and keep her away from my finished creations.

I got on splitcoast just in time to see this thumbnail come up for the pay gallery and I just had to give it a shot and it was the inspiration for my card...

The sketch...

My card using the popping pastel technique to color the cupcakes, and I went shabby with this card because of the color combo I used it just screamed the shabby style.

Product list...
All products PTI except for marvy scallop punch, SU scallop Punch, I used the cricut to cut the regular circles and chalk to color the cupcakes and the Cuttlebug embossing folder swiss dots.

Bella Challenge Card...Whole Wheat Flour

First for today I have my Bella challenge card for WCMD, you were supposed to give it an 80's theme so I went with bright colors and dots. I colored bella with Sakura glitter gel pens (I love these...I can actually color good with them).

Product list...
Emmy Bella Image
SU card stock Green galore
PTI card stock, ink and buttons HB
PTI stamp set Polka Dot basics, everyday basics
Ribbon unknown, some buttons unknown

And now a bit about what is going on around our home. DH was diagnosed with very high triglycerides and we have totally had to rethink the way we eat and cook. One of the first things I have changed was to get rid of all the white flours in the house. I replaced the cooking flour with King Arthur Whole Wheat seen below DH's work HyVee carries this at a reasonable price. I use it now in all of our cooking and baking, I have learned to use a cup less then you would for white flour recipes (it really soaks up the moisture). Here is a whole wheat pizza crust I now make for our family...

King Arthur Flour Web page here

Whole Wheat Pizza Crust recipe

1 pkg rapid rise yeast
1C warm water
1 T brown sugar
dissolve sugar in the warm water, sprinkle yeast over the top and let sit 'til it gets foamy (about 5 minutes)

3 1/2 C whole wheat flour (king Arthur Hy-vee)
1T EVOO
1t kosher salt
Combine these ingredients, pour yeast mixture into the center fold and blend slowly.Knead on flour surface, work onto a evoo (you can also sprinkle with corn bread flour) prepared pizza pan. Let sit 20 min, poke with a fork and begin to top the pizza.

Your flour will last in the fridge for 24 hours.

I am happy to report that DH has lost 15lbs, me not as great I have lost 4. Have to admit I am a sugar addict this is the hardest part for me to keep out of a good diet.

Swapping out the Welcome Mat...Lifelight Weekend

I have been playing around with my second card for this round of PTI swapping for a few weeks now. I wanted to use the PTI Everyday button Bits set (just love the little bird) that comes in the set. I also loved the birdhouse card on page 164 of the new SU catty so I created a .cut file for the cricut (Download .cut file here). Finally it all has come together and I have completed six of these little Tweets, Little J almost caused scrambled eggs (she loves them also and her little hands were all over my projects) LOL, AACK!

There is a ton of dimension and little things that just make this card so adorable. When I figured out the welcome mat for the sentiment I could not have been more proud of myself. I cut the oval with Cricut George after I elongated it a bit in DS program, it turned out to fit the sentiment from PTI's Everyday Classics perfectly on the first try (that does not happen often around here).

Golden Anniversary

My Aunt and Uncle are celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Saturday, I have worked a good part of the week off and on with this card...

Inside of card...

Posted by Picasa

First thing I did was created a .cut file from a card I found on SCS the blog link is here Scrapsofmind.com

50 .cut file download here
This .cut file is not A2 size it was made to fit inside a larger invitation envelope I am not sure of the alpha numeric name for this size but the box says to fit a 4 by 6 photo project.

Next after getting the .cut file down I printed off the photos I found that I wanted to use. On my photo printer I can print 4 photos on one 4 by 6 page, this was a great feature for this project all the photos printed the correct size. I played with them in Picasa editor by turning them all Sepia before printing.

I do have a bit of empty space on the inside I may find another photo or just leave it to show off more of my fave dp Stampin' Up has ever come out with. I tell you I have been hoarding this stuff and this was the perfect project to break it out on. I have said in the past that I do scan in my fave dp stacks so when they retire I can print them out when I need a page for something.

52 Weeks 52 Sketches week 23

I love this sketch and I brought out my PTI stash of DP I have been hoarding. I love this stuff and am so very sad that they are no longer making the 12 by 12 size. I love this thicker card stock for cricut 3d items and scrapbooking. PTI, if you read this please reconsider the 12 by 12 paper size. The pic is of little J on her Sears photo shoot, the resolution is low (they want you to purchase from them not print your own) but I still wanted to keep all of the pics they took. Last time I checked if you wanted the high resolution pics you had to pay over two hundred bucks for the CD. Well for Little J's book I think just a reminder of how cute she was at this age is fine in the lower resolution. I will link up a pic of the shot we chose for our pic wall.

Coffee/Tea card kit swap

My friend cupojafa over on SCS is hostessing a Coffee/Tea card kit swap, you can find her awesome blog {here}. I fiddled around with the idea of the swap for over a month now, well when my Sister delivered Dreams Come True Cricut Cartridge I knew I was in.

I have seen this cute tea pot invite in the cricut message board and the idea for a shape card came from there. I used DS and the Dreams Come True Cartridge to make the tea pot a2 size shape card.

Tea Pot .cut file by Sara Paschal

Summer Sunrise Ink and card stock
Vintage Cream Card Stock
Everyday Classics stamp set
Text Box Stamp Set
Warm Happiness Stamp Set

Extras
Embroidery Floss
Scallop Oval Punch Marvy
1/8" hole punch
Lipton Tea bag

To color the flowers on the tea pot I actually inked up the sunflower from text box and stamped color into the image, pretty clever if I do say so myself. And yes, that is the tiny tea bag from PTI's Everyday classics set. (I cut it out and took one strand of brown floss to make the hanger, along with the tiniest hole punch I had.)

**Note** this is not my final version for the swap just one of the many I have in my mind to send. Not sure yet what the images are I want to stamp to go with the kit, I may go bitty dots DP and then the tea cup from Everyday Classics?? Who knows, LOL?

Don't have to tell you how much I love flowers, IRL, paper or crocheted. This year DH and the girls planted a vegetable garden for us in the back yard, hopefully it is in a more prime spot compared to the first year we moved here when it did not grow so well.
Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." and
God saw that it was good.

Book of Cards

**PER PTI REQUEST OF COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT I HAVE REMOVED MY DS. CUT FILES FOR THE BOOK OF CARDS AND BRING IT ALONG CARDS. I STILL FEEL THAT THE USE OF CRICUT DESIGN STUDIO TO CREATE A .CUT FILE THAT LOOKS LIKE A PRODUCT IS NOT AN INFRINGEMENT I DID NOT PURCHASE OR USE ANY OF THEIR DESIGNS, IT TOOK ME DAYS AND HOURS TO FIGURE OUT THESE .CUT FILES FOR MYSELF AND MAKE THEM THE WAY I WANTED THEM TO LOOK**

Here are some photos of my Book card holder completed. I used my Design Studio .cut file (you can find the download posted above under blog header). This set of cards will be headed to my DH's great aunt. As you know I have had a bad week and just getting back into stamping I kept these cards really simple and just put on the PTI DP cut to 4" by 5 /4" on most of the A2 card fronts then adhered the same DP to the back flap of the envelope a simple stamped sentiment on the inside and I had 6 cards and envelopes in little time.
