Inspired crafters Jan 2011 SOAR

Inspired Crafters Jan 2011 Sketch I had to take a break from Inspired Crafters Design Team, happy to report that I am back. Banu has this awesome sketch up for January...I will be using it a bunch since most of the pics of 2010 are on my phone and they are crap. I can print them out 2 to 4 on a 4" by 6" page and then they look presentable.




I had to print these pics and file the rest. They are hard to see every day.
Guess what Donna said? I about passed out! "Mom, it feels like nothing ever happened." Are you kidding me? I need about a hundred of what she is having! So she is in critical care holding her cell phone. She is on my laptop logged into Facebook. Yep, that is so my girl;)

Scrap and Stamp Challenge Page and Moving Mountains

Scrap and Stamp
For the challenge this week we are supposed to scrap our creative space and use stamped chipboard somewhere on that page, this was fun to do however the cleaning and organizing I had to do before I took a new pic was not fun. You do see some older pics of my space just a few things have evolved over the past two years. I used a chipboard S and Grunge board frame to create my title and comply with this weeks rules.

You can see that I recycled our old computer cabinet and made it into my craft cabinet this way I can shut and lock the doors to keep little J OUT! I love my closet Maid setup this way most of what I have is organized into clear shoe boxes so I can see what I have. I store my SU paper in a cropper hopper file and my PTI paper in a two drawer filing cabinet. For now I have all my SB's and 12 by 12 paper in an old dresser that my Sister gave to me. AS for my Rubba stamps they are stored in two six drawer plastic organizers.

God took me on a different type of adventure on Monday...
Our DD's BFF's Grandmother Joan Passed away on Friday, over the weekend I was asked by the BFF if I was going to attend the funeral. I made up every excuse under the sun and made no promises of attending. Well on Monday I was flip flopping all morning at what to do I tell you just as soon as I set my mind to NO the phone was ringing DD wanted me to come pick her up so she could go and right after that BFF knocked on the door asking me to please go with her. Such courage this girl has I tell you she is one amazing Little Lady. So I pulled myself and Little J together and we attended...Little J amazed me as well she actually behaved for the entire service and showed empathy at the age of 3 to BFF and her Dad "Uncle Bill".

When we surround ourselves with proof of God's control over our days, our spirits are lifted and most mountains do, in fact, move. Yesterday I had a mountain move and when you can realize the proof of God's love in the little things in such a PROFOUND way you can then begin to realize how the bigger mountain that is not so mobile you can hold tight to God and let him lead us through the days, packing the path around the mountain to the other side.

My sister is an awesome garage sale shopper she found these SU canvas frames at one a few years back. They have been stored in my tote waiting for the picture perfect fit and I found it on Saturday.

For the base I painted Denim Blue one coat and let dry to the touch next I stamped PTI's Polka Dot Basics with fresh snow ink. I let the dots dry for about 5 minutes (the fresh snow is a pigment ink and takes a long time to dry on paint) took a clean cloth and started to dab at the dots this changed them to a light denim color when the paint mixed with the ink. I let my background dry for a couple of hours to make sure it was totally dry because I wanted the fresh snow with SU baroque motifs to appear SNOW WHITE. When my canvas was dry I used the Cricut to cut my words from adhesive vinyl and applied to the frame. Printed out a BW pic of the girls mounted it and mission completion. Everyone loves it, good thing she found two of them DD and her friend have claimed it.

DD's BFF lost her Grandmother on Friday the funeral is this afternoon, I plan on making a frame for her with a pic of her Grandmother. Any ideas for words to place on it?

Butterfly Birthday Bag

Happy Birthday Wise Owl

I love dressing up Wise owl for special events this is one of my fave cards and I can use it for Male bday's (I am so lacking in that area of card making).

Padded Cinderella

I think I love to make these as much as the receiver loves to get them. This will be making its way east to a friends DD for her birthday. Every little princess has to have a Cinderella notebook. I cut the gloves over 10 times then just went with the best cut, they are still far from perfect...need more practice.



Below is a shot of the open book with pages in it. I used Blue copy paper that was rescued from a friends burn barrel.


Below is a screen shot of Cricut DS, to get the notebook shape you need to copy, paste then flip on of the images. Next you connect your notebook with a rectangle. Your padded notebook will fit inside, use double stick red liner tape to adhere the pages to the inside.
