The photos above are what my arms looked like on Sunday after I tumbled into the bathtub on Friday night. The tub caught the back of my knees as I was turning for a towel and I went down hitting both of my arms, head, back etc... I have been in bed for most of the time since, very stiff and dizzy when I get up.

Thanks to all for your expresses concerns I hope to be good to go later in the week. I have a few posts on auto ready to go, but am not working on anything at this time. Just trying to get myself moving again.

Spiral Bouquet "In Lame' "

It is hard to believe it has been almost one year since this PTI set "Spiral Bouquet" was released. It still ranks as one of my fave sets and all the stamps have ink staining to prove it. LOL!! I think it is hilarious that some people actually think that stained stamps are somehow damaged, I call them LOVED! IRL if your stamps are clean and just stained this does not effect the quality of your stamped images. Now, if they are dirty and have not been cleaned this will cause color transfer and you won't get a true color on your stamped image.

I can't get the image out of me head of a lady decked out in her Holiday Silver Lame' Blouse and the silver shoes however, the gold lame' takes the cake I get a great laugh when I see it. Okay, I will stop now and behave myself just that the image is burned into my brain....enough said.

Lame' an ornamental fabric in which metallic threads, as of gold or silver, are woven with silk, wool, rayon, or cotton.


One of my new fave things to use is Metallic paste, it comes in a container that looks like crayola water colors. I used it here on this card to highlight the edges and the gel pen that I used on the image.

Made of Snow...

Here is my swap card for PTI round 9 swap hosted by Chris. (Link to the SCS tread if you wish to sign up can be found in the blog bar to the right.) It makes use of the brand new set from PTI called "Made of Snow", this set is so much fun to play with I can feel it quickly becoming one of my faves. The way the snowman is pieced and has wire arms is a CASE from Nichole's card that really sold me on this set. (No coloring involved)! There is going to be a suprise inside this swap card, I have used SU's slit punch to hold in some hot cocoa mix, YUMMY!!

To make the background I inked up the side of my Cuttlebug folder that has the Cuttlebug wording on it with PTI's Aqua Mist ink pad then ran the PTI shimmer paper through my sizzix using the inked up folder. That gave the snowflakes a tad of blue color but did not overwhelm the background.

DCWV and PTI

During Jen's 30/30 challenge I found so much stuff placed out of sight that was forgotten. One of those things was some Card bases from Die Cuts With a View DCWV, I had gotten them for my Bday a few years ago from DH (think he found them at Michaels). Anyhow how quick and easy to personalize a card in this manner quick, simple, personal and a great way to use up some forgotten about supplies.

Included with the last round of PTI swapping there was a card kit swap. This card kit was made my MonkeyMama and it contained PTI's Mailbox Greetingsimages. This is not a set I own, no big surprise there it requires much coloring something I do not like to do on cards. I assembled her kit Sara Style and came up with these two cards...



Neither one is a fave and honestly neither makes me happy, totally feel like I missed the mark with awesome kit just because of the coloring. The sky totally looks like a mid winter angry South Dakota sky.

Plum Pudding Please...

Our DD loves PTI's Plum Pudding she had requested it to paint her bedroom walls. I did cave took a piece of card stock to Wal-Mart and had a Half Gallon mixed for her, I only agreed to an accent wall done in such a dark color. I do love the finished look however, I did not help her paint and I see she has some fixing to do. I don't venture up our steps very often and this is where the girl's bedrooms are so they pretty much have free reign of the upstairs. Once in a long while on a good day for me I will go up there and see what is going on.

Anyhow after her room was done she wanted to display her CD holder photo cube. Sorry for the blurry photo is is cloudy here today and her room is a venture into the dark side, LOL!! Not the best place if you want to take a good photograph.

Pink and Purpley...

I was thinking of my Niece the entire time I had this Card Case in mind. She is a total girly girl and loves pink and purple. So for her Bday card this year I used PTI's Plum Pudding and Lavender Moon to come up with Pink and Purpley. I am not even sure if this is how you would spell "Purpley" if it was a word, LOL!!

My Inspiration for this card to CASE came from Amystamper's PTI round 5 swap card, you can see it here in a previous post...

I so love how this card folds and it is very easy to do...
1) Cut your background card stock to A2 size (4 1/4" by 5 1/2")
2) Cut your left half of the card 6" by 4" and fold in half
3) Cut your right half of card 8" by 2 1/4"
4) Stamp
5) Assemble

Blessed Scallops

Palmettostate on SCS inspired me awhile back with a grand scallop card using SAB rub ons. I researched where her scallop card came from, it is a Sizzix Bigz Die XL cut (does not fit the regular Sizzix cutter). So I asked if I could purchase some pre scalloped cards from her, in the end she agreed to make some for me if I would send her some PTI images. That was not a problem and I was so more than happy to stamp my fave PTI images for her and I sent some awesome card stock and ribbons along also.. The other day the happy mail arrived and I have been playing ever since....So Blessed to have found such a wonderful friend in the SCS forum.

I awoke on Tuesday AM in such pain I was crying (is it possible to cry in your sleep)? My hands hurt so unbelievably bad I did not know what was going on, when I got into the light they were bruised, swollen and hard to bend. I have arthritis in my hands but did not know this type of incident was going to happen, next to my eyes my hands are essential for paper crafts. My knuckles are so big now I don't even wear my wedding ring anymore, you can still see were it was resting on my finger and it has been off for months.

Recipe Swap... Wise Jewish Meatballs

My Family raves over this recipe it is truly a fall and winter Family Favorite for us. I always double the recipe and they disappear fast. I am not sure why they are called Jewish Meatballs, the recipe actually comes from my Amish Cookbook LOL!! That supports my beliefs of a Higher Power and supporting each other's different religions etc...

Quench in Style a Tutorial

Handmade Lip Gloss

Lip Gloss inside of the box ready for giving...

We are famous here in SD for the weather changing rapidly, last week we hit an early cold spell and it is hanging on. We have resisted turning on the heater, yet my skin in already quickly drying out and my lips are cracking. I purchased the pots and stamps to make the lip gloss a while back from Clear Dollar Stamps

Here is where you can find the link for the complete directions on how to make the box. My box has one simple change I used a 1 1/2" circle punch for the window to keep the theme for the lip gloss pot. My friend Rochelle made the same box to hold smoochies you can see them here

LIP Gloss Directions...
1) Use a stainless steel sauce pan
2) Melt your Vaseline (1T Per pot you wish to fill)
3) Put into the melted Vaseline 1/4t. of Kool Aid (Per pot you wish to fill)
4) Mix til it is really dissolved and smooth
5) Fill your lip gloss pot
6) Decorate your pot
7) Construct your box
8) Place pot inside and tie off with ribbon

What I learned...
1) Microwave does not work for this project
a. Did not get the Vaseline hot enough to dissolve the Kool Aid properly
2) Fully Dissolve the Kool Aid in the Vaseline
3) This is a great project for kids they do need supervision the Vaseline is very hot, it does cool fast if you want to use the idea for a birthday party craft.

Give it a try this was a ton of fun for all of us! It is our plan to make up beauty kits for Christmas gifts using the lip gloss that is show in this post along with the glitter gel and some handmade soaps.

PTI round 8 swap card by Cllstamper, I love this card and it fits in with my color combo challenge I am so very happy to share it with you. Once again, the passion for Flower Frenzy is growing...





This is one of my swap cards for round 8, I have made it in the past and was asked if I was going to make it for the swap. At that time I had my two swap cards made so I went on and made another batch. The difference is that there is going to be a vellum layer over the Guidelines flower.

I am so shocked to see that EK Success has quit making these acrylic stickers, they were the perfect size to go with PTI stamps that I have. If anyone knows where there is still a stash of these somewhere please let me know I would be happy to purchase them.

A fun find and a PTI round 8 Card Kit Swap

You will have to click on the scan of this photo to get a larger photo, I think you will be amazed as I was after you read the first two paragraphs. It states that the certificate was made before 1904 when SD became a state (SD was still considered a territory before this date). Our piano was first tuned in 1918 and last in 1932. We have been considering getting it tuned or selling it so we wanted to see what info we could find on the Piano Saturday when we took it apart to clean it up and see the condition of the inside. Along with this Tuning Certificate we also learned this...

They did call Me back up when they fun was over so I do have some good close up shots of what is left...






DH is first person on the left hand side of photo...




We decided not to fix this car, instead he has donated it to the Fire Department for Crash Test Training. Today they are using the saws, jaws and whatever else they have to demolish and train. When they are done the funds raised from the salvage will in return go to the Fire Department.

Training was moved inside due to the rain so it was hard to get close enough for some good shots and yet stay out of the way. He would not stay still long enough for me to get a photo of him in his full attire, it figures he sees me with the camera and usually refuses to take a normal photo anyhow.

Busy, is as Busy Does...

This school year has brought on many challenges for our family as we learn new routines and schedules. Then on Friday it happened again, our 2yr old decided to play with a necklace it broke and a bead found it's way up her nose. Another trip to the Dr. to have it removed, this time we did not need the ER and it was a fast visit but DD sure did pitch a fit (hopefully she has learned with this event).

Our oldest DD plays in the HS band and last night our school had the game of the week, if you take this link you can check out the action

I loved this card from the minute I took it out of the mail box, I was amazed at all of the detail she put into it. I even asked her how long it took her to tie all of the knots for the six cards she needed to make for the swap. She said it took her a long time but we are special :)

Flower Garden CASE

I have had this card hanging on my CASE board for a bit of time now and have wanted to make some of my own. The original idea was a swap card from JoAnn, and I figured since round 8 swap was almost ready to start swapping out I had better get some of the previous swap cards CASED before I added more to my collection. Yep, that is right collection. I have hosted 6 PTI swap rounds now and have a full box of PTI cards that I prize, I only share them with the people that I know will love them as much or more than myself. I made a few exactly like JoAnn's then I made some with the same feel but using a different flower and leaf from the set along with the Flower Garden Sentiments ad on set. I left off the brads on my creation, just for one reason I needed to stockpile some cards that require one first class stamp and do not need to be checked for mail ability before they are sent. This makes it easier on the people I gift cards to, sometimes they don't understand the was of the USPS, then again who can keep up with all the rules anyhow?
