I get frustrated with Stampin' Up when they start retiring items that I totally enjoy working with. I spend money on their products because the inks and papers match so well and are high quality. Last year they retired my all time fave paper Recollections. I was able to find more at a garage sale and this is what I did before I used any of it... I scanned in all of the papers in the package onto my computer so now I will have them forever!
Keep in mind if you make products to sell anything digital or altered in anyway can not be used under the Angel Policy SU offers.
This is the page I made of myself using my word for the year "Smile", do you want to play along? Visit Cyndi and see how you play.
My card for today was made for the Wednesday Sketch Challenge on SCS called SC161
This is another card I made for this weeks SC on SCS, I used the above Free digi kit. The papers were printed out along with the flower. To make the flower more 3D I cut it out and bent up the ends, placed a prima and brad in the center. I layered my printed pages with Chocolate Chip the thank is also stamped in the same color ink.

Embrace Yo Yo Yellow...
The scrapbook page for today is of our DD's on New Year's Eve, I used some Digital papers from The Scrap Girls Refresh. This is a great 'Free Download' you should go and check it out. The rest of the page was made in my Scrapbook Factory program.
Was this ever a challenge card for me and it took me most of the morning to make it. (I am still not sure if I like it.) It was made for the Tuesday Color Challenge on SCS CC151 Making Yo Yo Yellow Look Good. I have no problem with Yo Yo Yellow in fact the Bold Bright Family is my Fave set of colors to use. The problem was I had no Grey well, I had one grey scallop circle from WRAK. So my friend Cheryl posted a card the other day using a faux metal I thought I would give this a try to get my grey on the card. All I can say is I did the challenge and gave it my best with what I had.
A nice compliment that brightened my day..."So I have to tell you a funny story. I was looking at your blog a while back and my husband walked by and saw your picture and he kept looking at it saying that he knew you. I’m like no you don’t know her. He was like she is so familiar. Then it hit him. He said you look like the girl from the show criminal minds. I don’t know if you watch it or not but we do every Wednesday. The one he is talking about is the computer gal, Garcia. After he said that I was like, now that you mention it she does look like Garcia. She is his favorite person on that show. Anyway, I just wanted to share that with you." Rochelle

Winter Play and a BOHO Dahlia...Sisterhood Hide and Seek Blog Candy...
My scrapbook page for the day features our DD's enjoying some winter play. I used DCWV textured paper stack in two colors of purple. Then placed in some snowflake brads and some bling. I printed out the small photos in my scrapbook program so they are framed and each one has it's own description. Some of the background blocks were embossed using the Cuttlebug folder Snowflakes.
Here is the card I made for the Monday Technique Lovers Challenge on SCS TLC153 For this card I used the Apple Cider DP in 1 1/2" Circles to make the flower folds. (I ended up using 9 circles, the directions called for eight but I liked the fullness of having the extra petal.) I then placed the petals on a piece of Really Rust Card Stock and took my paper punch and punched around the square. The bottom piece was layered and punched in the same fashion. Next I stamped the flower from True Friend onto a piece of Really rust and place a brad in the center.
I love the rustic look this card ended up being.

A Sisterhood Challenge Page & Sunday SCS Challenge Card....
Today on Sisterhood of Scrap it is Challenge Monday, this is what hooked me a couple of weeks ago, the challenge week that I won WOOHOOOOOOOO! The challenge for this page was to use some paper that was not scrapbook paper, I used this page from a children's book called The Day the Clocks Stopped. The photos are all of the beautiful trees that we saw on our walks around town in 2006. I so hope one day my back gets to feeling better so we can enjoy those glorious outings once again. The other papers used are some scraps from K and Co. Hanna, some DCWV textured card stock and some stickers from Creative Memories.
And now for today's card...
ON Sunday SCS features one stampers Gallery yesterday it was StampingPam for FS51, the challenge is to go to the gallery and CASE a card that you enjoy. I picked this card To one of my True Friends Now for my card I actually painted the crackle background since I do not own the weathered background stamp from SU, I really like how this came about. The DP is Apple Cider and I also used Wasabi, pumpkin pie and very vanilla card stock from SU.
I have finished seven challenges in a row on SCS, I am so excited and I learned many new ideas along the way. Have you challenged yourself today?

Here is my big news....Along with Hide and Seek Blog Candy
I have been named as Sister of the Week on Sisterhood of Scrap.
My scrapbook page won a weekly contest, you can see the page in my post here "Playful".
I am so thankful I found the Sisterhood of Scrap blog, I have been inspired again to scrapbook for our youngest DD. She loves to see the finished pages, has yet to figure out that the photos are of her she says, "See baby".
The girls also enjoy looking back at their books from this past summer, it was my goal not to hear, "I have nothing to do", all day everyday of summer vacation. You can see some of their work here in this post "Scrapbook Summer Journals".
It is my passion to post my finished works in hopes to inspire others as I have been. I will continue on my journey of cardmaking along the way so stay tuned to see what is forthcoming.

LSC152 Leftover "Hannah"...
K and Company scrapbook set "Hannah", so far today I have used to to make a card and two scrapbook pages for the SCS challenge Limited Supplies Leftovers. LSC152
This card was made from all scraps used on these two scrapbook pages. I embossed the heart with the cuttlebug folder and added some SU Fairy Tale ribbon. The gold letters you see are letters leftover from when we put up our mailbox, (had to get some man embellies on the pages, lol)!
Here is our "Pretty Daddy" photo made into a scrapbook page, gotta love it!
This page had Daddy playing Pony Ride, they both were having a great time.
Notice on the last page you see a chipboard "H" YEP, I went out and got some this one I painted with crackle medium and two colors of berry.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Something Funny, Something Blue...
This came in a very funny email from a friend the caption said, "I think the woodpecker might have to go.", LOL! Our little DD loves monkeys, she spoted it right away how about you? I will probably still be laughing as you are reading this post.
This card was made for the way to use it challenge, the Thursday challenge over on SCS, there is a link on the right hand side of my blog to the weekly challenges. Thursday 24,08 was called Paint the town red WT150, meaning you were supposed to use paint somewhere on your creation. For this card I first ran a piece of SU Brocade Blue through the CB embossing folder Divine Swirls, just on the bottom half. Next I painted the bottom half with Folkart Blue Metallic Paint and let it dry. Then I stamped the flourish from Baroque Motifs with the same paint on the top half of the card and let it dry. The entire card was then sponged with a Not Quite Navy ink pad. For the top portion of the card I also had some blue pear fabric paint that I sponged over the flourish.
With the addition of some bling and ribbon I thought this would make an awesome Wedding card. Have you ever tried painting on a card, me either that is until yesterday.
The photo does not do this card any favors, it is so sparkly and wonderful IRL and you can't see any of that in the photo.
Happy Stamp Day!

Sweet "LilyKate" SC160...
This card was made for the Sketch challenge on SCS this week you can find it here
SC160
The colors I used were Celery and bliss blue along with a touch of so saffron. I was so inspired by Markie's Mom over on SCS I was at a loss for words (truly one of those AHHHH moments).
So I took more time with this card and worked on the little details and made it a shabby card I think this is one of the better cards I have done in a long time I love the entire look of it from the color combo to the small detail.
So after being so inspired by Markie's Mom I took a little trip over to her blog. Stampin' with Markie's Mom, I have been there before many times but today I see through different eyes. I found this card and the above version in my CASE.
Thank you Markie's Mom for such wonderful inspiration.
Don't forget to check out the link to the right to get signed up for some blog candy.

Beautiful Soul Part 2....
I wanted to show you the card I have made using the scraps left over from my Beautiful Soul Scrapbook page. This layout uses SCS sketch Challenge 159 from last week, I love the layout it really looks great with DP's. You can find the link to all of the weekly challenges on the right hand side of my blog, have you challenged yourself today?
Again the DP was printed out from a digital kit and I mounted it with Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip card stock from Stampin' up! The flowers are Prima's and I have some bling rhinestones in the center and the sentiment is from the So Very SU set.
Beautiful Soul....
Yes, two scrapbook pages down this month! I know it does not sound like a lot but I have been so lagging in our littlest ones scrapbook it is awful.
This page came about because of her singing abilities. Before I go any farther I have to ask is it illegal to have your car stereo preset on all channels for Disney Radio 115? Just kidding, LOL! Since we have gotten our new van (with Sirius Satellite Radio) I don't think the channel has ever moved from Disney. And the worst part of it is I can sing along with all the songs, now that could be traumatising.
Anyway our little one starts singing away when she hears her FAVE songs and this one "Beautiful Soul" is on her list. It is so cute to hear her sing her little heart out and funny that she can remember some of the words.
This page was made with some digital paper files I printed out I also used Stampin' up Chocolate and Close to Cocoa, some Prima flowers and some bling rhinestones. I really want to place a chipboard B on the page have never used the chipboard letters before, I am going to have to look for them the next time I am at the store.
As the title for the page says she is a Beautiful Soul we are so blessed to have her in our lives.
Happy Stamp Day!

Mobile Office Valentine Tutorial...
This started out as the technique challenge on SCS Monday it was called a pixie pouch TLC152. I made a few adjustments to the challenge and this is what I arrived at...
A Mobile Office Valentine, does this not rock or what?
Here is a written tutorial on how to make one for your Mobile Valentine...
1) Cut a piece of colored card stock to 11' by 3 1/4"
2) Score colored Card stock at 8 1/2" and again at 3/4"
3) Place on your DP on the 8 1/2" end of card stock
4) Place on your DP on the 3 3/4" end of card stock
5) Place on your DP on the 3/4" flap
6) Fold down 3/4" flap and adhere with redline tape
7) Place redline tape on both sides of the 3 3/4" along the edges and adhere your pocket.
8) Place your decorated notebook on the bottom of pouch with redline tape
9) Insert your beaded pen
10) Tie ribbon around your adhered flap and make a bow
11) Place on your paper clip
Now you have a mobile office to keep you organized or to give to a friend.
On the Grid....
This is another challenge card I had done for VSN (Virtual Stamp Night) over on Splitcoaststampters this weekend. The idea for this challenge was to make a grid card using only the stuff that was out on your table, follow this link to the gallery for this challenge JAN08VSNR I used my paper trimmer, Scotch Double Sided Tape, Dollar Spot Paper Scraps, pink passion card stock and a stamp from the "Have a Heart" set from Stampin' Up!
The measurements for this card are...
6 1 1/4" Squares
Pink Passion 4 1/4" by 2 3/4"
DP 4 1/4" by 2 3/4"
I challenge you to make a card using only what is out in your work space, I would love to see your creations.
Happy Stamp Day!

You can find the thread here VSN Challenges The whole event is classified as "Girls Night Out", and each challenge has to do with that particular topic. This challenge was called put on your big girl panties. This gallery on SCS had me laughing so hard I thought I was going to cry. My fave in the gallery is this one "Shake your Bon Bon"
I have went back and put some stickles along the straps and the bra line and I am wating for that to dry then I will take another photo for you.

Happy Birthday Dad!
Happy Birthday DAD!
Today is my Father's 76th birthday, the above photo was of our birtday bash for him last year before he flew south. Have a great day, we love you and miss you come back soon!
Paper Trey Inc swap round 3...
This is one of my cards that I personally made for Paper Trey swap round 3. To make this card I used these three SU colors of blue...
Not Quite Navy
Bordering Blue
Brocade Blue
I have been using this color combo a ton this season for winter cards, I really enjoy the blending of the three blue hues.
I ran the background piece through the Cuttlebug Snowflake folder, then highlighted the embossing with white craft ink. Next I stamped the snowflakes in Not Quite Navy and punched them out with a 3/4" punch and placed a page pebble on top and backed it with a 1" circle of Not Quite Navy. The card layout I used was SCS Sketch Challenge 155
I have started the round four Paper Trey Swap if you would like to sign up please vist the Thread here SCS Paper Trey Swap Round 4
Have a Happy Stamp Day!
Happy Mail Day Boxes...
Edit post to upload photo 6:30 PM.
I will be back to post the photos later today, (blogger must be cold this AM also and don't want to move, LOL)!
You want a sneak peek you can see the photo here SCS Gallery Page
These were made for our DD's for Valentines, they totally loved the one I had made for my Secret Sister so I went to Target to get a couple more and try them again. I found a wonderful tutorial (after I did my first one) here Stamping and Stuff makes more sense to me now and it makes them more fun to make as well when you know what the heck you are doing.
I used more of the Dollar Spot DP along with SU's Real Red and Pink Passion Card Stock and on the flags for the first time to die cut I used the nestabilities small scallop rectangles. (Now these are fun, I will tell you how I use them with my Sizzix in the near future.)
I had a horrible experience yesterday...after my Board meetings I had a couple errands to run and at the last store there was an awful smell related to some project going on. I was in the store with our 2 year old DD for no more than 15 minutes and I knew I had to get out. I was getting dizzy, sick to my stomach couldn't breathe and by the time I checked out I was going to leave my purchases (totally could not remember I had just bought something). Our DD seemed to be okay, so I got out by the car got her belted in and just stood there taking in some fresh air and drinking some water. Finally I made it home but truthfully I probably should not have drove and I am upset with myself that I did especially with our DD in the van. But when I did get home I called the store to see what they were using and they put me through to the contractor, normal everyday white spray paint. Keep in my our DD seems fine this whole time, she did sleep on the way home but then always does. I then called poison control to see if it could have done something harmful, they said the effects should last no more that a few hours (they were right by 7:30 I felt good again just a small headache). So people when they say use in well ventilated area, that does not mean a retail store during business hours does it?

The Other Side....
Everyone loves the Valentine Memo Cube tutorial that I have sitting on my desk. When my oldest DD saw it she asked if I would make her a friend one to put by her computer. Here is what I came up with...
Her FAVE color is purple so I used another sheet from the new Prima pack I won from Jacksonbelle over in SCS forum this page was called "Vanity". Needless to say she loved it!
Anyone else having issues with Gmail the past couple of days? I have tried to log on many times and can not get the log in page to come up. So for now if you need to contact me by email please use this addy 'til I get back to you...
racenut_zoom@yahoo.com This is my DH's email, but I check it a couple of timed a day.

So many wonderful cards came in for this swap it was very hard to pick a FAVE but this card from Huldap came out on top with two of my family members one was myself and the other DH. Playful...
This page was made for the Sisterhood of Scrap weekly challenge, the challenge was to use the oldest possible paper you could. Well I think I pulled that one off, my paper is from Creative Memories and it was purchased when our oldest DD was born (let me see will thirteen years old be considered old paper?) I do still love it and have a few sheets left but I am thankful that my Sister works for Creative Memories and she stocks me up for My Birthday and at Christmas. To store my paper I use hanging files and keep the file cart covered and away from light, I guess I am doing something right to have paper this old and still look so good.
The photos are of our youngest DD, she is now 2 so I am even telling you how far behind I am with her scrapbook, yikes what am I thinking?
Other items used were SU whisper white, night of navy and I think Positively Pink (not for sure on that one). I used Sizzix large daisy die with the Creative Memories paper to make the flower, the centers were punched with a 3/4" circle punch and placed on with a pop dot. The lettering is done with stickers and are also ancient.
This is the last day you can sign up for Hide and Seek Blog Candy you can take this link to the post and I will be back with a winner on Wednesday. You won't want to be late for the next round of Hide and Seek all I am going to say it is big!
Happy Stamp Day!

CASE, Blog Candy and Tools...
I just fell in love with this card layout when I saw the card by Moonrise on SCS, I had to CASE it. This is my take on her beautiful card I used Basic Black and Cranberry Crisp for card stock now for ink I used Basic Black (I don't often reach for that pad anymore the black is just not as true of a black as the Staz-on and I prefer to use that now), this card is a really great example of how bad the Basic Black can look I have it on my slate to redo this card with the Staz-on and then I believe I will be more happy with my CASE.
Remember Hide and Seek blog candy, I will draw on Wednesday, leave a comment in this posted link.
Want to get the chart you see below, send me an email to paschal.sara@gmail.com with the word color chart and the file you want. Remember the Excel file is the one that fits the dimensions of my posted booklet, you will have to make your own measurements on the other file.

A useful tool...
EDITED for an UPDATE...
You can now choose between a works format and Excel, in your siggy line please tell me the file you would like sent via email.
A few years ago I was given this color chart by a Stampin' Up Demo, I took the time to update it for the new IC's. Now I can check through my supplies write down what I have and what I need to have when the money tree starts sprouting in the back yard. For the cover I used Roses in Winter and the colors Cranberry Crisp and Wild Wasabi. I am not happy at all with the printing, I took an empty ink cartridge to
Rapid Refill Ink, purchased one of their refilled ones and it does not work worth a hoot. (It will be heading back to the store first chance I get.)
Anyone who would like the file please email me with the words Color Chart in your read line. paschal.sara@gmail.com
Here are the dimensions for my finished product.
Cover 6 1/2" by 8" Score at 4"
Inside 6 1/4" by 7 3/4" Score at 3 7/8"

What pets do while we are at work...
My DD sent me an email, I just had to post this I was really laughing when I got to the end of the email. Most of these photos were included in the what pets do while we are at work portion some are from the smile section. Gotta love those pets!
Someone's Got Mail....
I had some happy mail this week when the paper pack I won from Jacksonbelle showed up at my door. It is the Coquette Collection from Prima and it is great paper, it is paper I would never purchase if I saw it in the store just not my style, but what fun it was stepping out of my box again. This is the saying from the part of the paper I wrapped around my mailbox..."Whatever is good, whatever is pure, whatever is found to be excellent, let your mind think on these things."
This mailbox is a first for me, and I did find it semi difficult to get around the flag and this part took sometime but after I figured it out clear skies from there on in. The paper pack also came with matching flowers so on the ends I reversed the paper to show the polka dots, then I cut out a frame that was collaged into the other side of the paper and layered some flowers to go inside the frame, love how that turned out.
This project will be on its way to my Secret Sister this round for Valentine's Day she listed her fave color as purple so I am sure it will be a hit.

To make the previous posted bookmark card here are your measurements...
Cut your card stock the long way so you have a piece that is 11" by 4 1/4"
Fold your card stock length wise so that you end up with a 5 1/2 by 4 1/4" card
Remove 2 1/4" from the front of the card
Perforate for your bookmark at 2 1/8" on the back half of your card
When the bookmark is removed it's dimensions will be 2 1/8" by 4 1/4"

Re-purposed, What??
Do you know what this is?
Here is a hint: It is used for sewing.
Now do you know?
That is correct a Tracing Wheel. What have I gone and done with a Tracing Wheel that is made for sewing, scroll down and have a look see.
To make this card I used Cranberry Crisp, Mellow Moss, Very Vanilla and Recollections DP. The stamp sets used are So Very, Roses in Winter and the sentiment stamp is from Gingerbread Rubberstamps out of Arlington, SD.
I have wanted to make one of these bookmark cards for a while now, my Sister gave me one for my birthday a few years back and I have kept it in my to do file. This time of year I can't afford new toys so I challenged myself and a fellow blogger to come up with an alternative to the SU multi purpose tool. This is what was thought of and here is how I used it.
1) Lined up my paper in the paper trimmer to 2 1/2"
2) Put down the paper holder with the cutter moved all the way to the top
3) Ran the tracing wheel beside the paper holder so it would run in the track
That is how I got my perforation line for the bookmark.
I then said what else can this do, so I wheeled my way around the focal image creating a series of lines (I should have stopped for the night if you look close the left hand side has issues), tomorrow is another day after some rest and with some luck hopefully I can wheel a straight line.
This card is borderline for Valentines but I plan on sending it to my BFF that lives in Ohio. We have been friends since the first grade and she is the Godmother to our children, I thought this would make a great Valentine for her.
Have you challenged yourself lately?

This is what we are playing for this round, two notebooks one is card size the other is 2 1/2 by 2 1/2", some card size pieces of DP and embossed card stock (my fave colors this season) Regal Rose and Rose Red, 1 gift card to the "Olive Garden" for $5.00.
Are you ready to play? 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, ready or not.....Here comes the blog candy.
In my gallery on SCS there is a card titled "Cuttlebug Happiness", what are the two SU Colors used on this card? (White does not count for this game and you can take the link on the right hand side of my blog to my SCS gallery.) Leave a comment on this post and I will draw a winner on January 16, 2008 using the random number generator. (I am going to save the comments back again 'til Wednesday, so don't be suprised when you don't see them showing for this post, this cuts down on all of the peeking.)

Re-Purposed Valentine Memo Cube Tutorial....
Okay, so if you are wondering what this is and what the heck I am doing with it this post is for you. This is actually a Styrofoam Silk Floral brick that was purchased at our local floral shop. (I was able to get a much better price there than I could at the craft stores and when I cut it a two-fer, can't beat that. I am sure if you look you can find floral cubes, but this is what I have used.) In the end this entire project has cost less than a dollar to make, I find that amzaing don't you?
This is what I came up with, is it not the coolest thing you have seen in awhile? An Altered Memo cube made from Styrofoam, want to know how it is done, read on my friends.....
Supplies:
Styrofoam Cube (or a brick to cut in half)
Decorator Paper
Cork Paper
Card Stock
Stickers
Ribbon
Beads
Small Notebook (or post it notes)
Small clothes pin
Wire
Push pins
Red liner tape
Mod Podge
Acrylic Paint
Foam Brush
Computer and Printer (or rubber stamps and craft ink)
Memo Cube Tutorial
1) Cut Styrofoam brick in half, or start with a Styrofoam Cube 4" or larger
2) Cut your DP and cork to match the size of all sides, top and bottom of cube. (The cork paper is very fragile and calls for a light touch when cutting)
3) Use Mod Podge to adhere your DP to the cube working on only on one side and it's opposite at a time
4) Place a heavier book on top of the brick to help the paper adhere to the foam and let dry
5) Paint your clothes pin in a matching color and let dry
6) Make your photo holders by twisting wire around the end of a pen three times
7) Bead the wires as you wish and set to the side
8) Computer generate your sayings, you will find the following on my cube....
Remember We Love You!
Keep this in mind
Reminders
Don't forget
9) Cut and layer your sayings and lay to the side
10) Place on your ribbon trim using red liner tape
11) Place on your stickers for my cube I used "Stickabilities" heart stickers from Hobby Lobby
12) Dip your beaded wire photo holders into some Mod Podge and poke them into the top of your cube.
13) Place on your notebook or sticky notes with red line tape
14) Place on your clothes pin with red line tape
15) Place on your sentiments with red line tape
The following photos are views of the cube top and sides....
I am so excited about this object, I hope you are as well and I will be back in the AM to post some Hide and Seek blog candy, (I want to wait for the sun to come up so I can get some good photos of the goodies.)
Winter Play...
Had the girls out enjoying the warm weather the other day, we thought we could make a snowman but the snow is very crusty so we have to pretend. Our little DD had a fun time, did not want to keep her gloves on and was really excited to see leaves in the snow. Our other DD tried hard to make something from the snow but just ended up with a small pile. Grandpa and Grandma do you miss it?
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
