With Gratitude
I have been working on this one single card for a couple of weeks, how can that be? Well Beautiful Blooms had been my fave floral stamp 'til my new Flower Garden arrived and it was pushed aside. I know I am bad! With so many great stamp sets and so little time what is one to do? Many years ago my SU demo told me all you need to stamp is a floral set and one great sentiment set, was she nuts? I suppose it would be great for a newbie but not an addict, LOL! I can't begin to count the number of floral sets I have.
This layout is one of my fave cards to make a thank you and a small gift all in one, can't beat it!

Technique Challenge Sunday a tutorial
Have you ever?
Okay, I have read this week in a thread that someone thought they had ruined an ink pad when they stamped in a darker shade then back into a lighter pad. Guess what there is an easy fix to this incident and your pad will not be ruined here it goes...
1) Remove lid from ink pad
2) Gather a stack of Paper Towels
3) Place your ink pad upside down on the paper towels over night
4) The Paper Towels will soak out the ink from your ink pad (use caution to protect the surface you are using, lots of paper towels and some newspaper will absorb the ink)
5) Use your re-inker to put the color back into your pad

A new Blogger and some weather news
Our DD playing with a little friend just her age, she is such a sweet girl. Thanks to our friends for a great BBQ on Friday, we all had a fun time getting out.
My step mom has started a blog here is the link if you would like to check it out...
Senior Sense
Had some tornadoes in the area Thursday around 2:25 AM, some hail, strong wind and heavy rain = some more water in the basement. Other than almost having a coronary we are fine, there is some crop damage in the area. DH is going to work on the basement this afternoon, finally purchased a sump pump so lets hope it works.
Have a great day!
A Kind RAK
When Chrys23 sent in her PTI round 6 swap cards she included a card specially for me and it was in this amazing kraft envie. I emailed her as to where she had gotten it, it is SU and I had over looked it in the catty. A few days later this came in the mail for me, such a nice treat.
Chris is very talented and has been in many PTI swaps, you can find her blog here

Bleached out Flower Garden...
No, I am not talking hair here LOL! I have bleached out the flowers from PTI's new set Flower Garden, love it! First I stamped a few of the larger flower outlines onto the new Plum Pudding card stock then took some bleach and a q-tip to remove the color from the flower but not the center of the image. I left the color here then placed an acetate sticker over the center. To frame out the flowers I cut a 3 by 3 piece of basic black then glued on ribbon corners. I have been trying to get a card made for the Blog Hop on Wednesday but have not come up with the winner yet. Please check back on Wednesday June 25 after 4:00 CST to see what card I have chosen for the blog hop.

Sara's Creative Adventures
Just wanted to share with all of you that I am starting a new Adventure. Yes, that is correct I have renamed my blog to Sara's Creative Adventures. After days of considering many ideas I had bouncing around in my head I asked my Great friend Wanda at My Creative Corner to help me narrow my choices. She is an outstanding blogger and a wonderful mentor for me and I was right she had the answer I was looking for.
You may also notice that I have been changing my blog style around some trying to find the right look. I have decided to change the DP on a monthly basis from here on out to reflect my favorite pick. This month you see Gridlines DP from PaperTrey Ink.
I am working on a blog header at this time not sure yet if I will be changing it or come up with one that will remain the same from month to month. I wish to express my crafty adventures in a manner that is organized, simple and easy to follow. I hope you will share your crafting adventures with me.
Welcome my crafty friends to Sara's Creative Adventures!

Leftovers WSC53
I admit I need to clean my craft space and get it organized once again it is easier to craft when I am organized. This card happens to be made with leftovers that have remained on my desk for weeks, it is so time to get them filed away. I put some of them to use on this card for Beate's Weekend sketch challenge WSC53.
We have been using leftovers of another sort around our home this summer as well. Leftover Concrete from DH's work for our driveway and leftover paint from Habitat Restore for our house. Sure feels good to help out by using up the leftovers and saving some green at the same time.
Product list...
PTI Kraft Card Stock
Fancy Pants Transparency
Basic Grey Boxer DP and fibers
SU scallop circle punch
Gold Sakura gel pen
I challenge you today to make a card or SB layout with just leftovers. If you take me up on the challenge please comment in this post with a link to your creation and I will pick at random a winner for a RAK.

Top Shelf, a Technique Challenge Sunday Tutorial
The term "Top Shelf" gained an entirely different meaning for me this week. Usually the stamping products I don't use often make their way to the top shelf of my craft storage unit. Here are some of the products that lie in wait on my Top Shelf, Christmas Crafts, Glass Paints, Brass Stencils and Perfect Pearls. Yep, that is right my Perfect Pearls are on the top shelf and hardly get used I find them somewhat messy. Monday was a new life for this product in my crafty world with the appearance of a Challenge over on SCS here it is...
TLC173, "With a Shimmer and a Glimmer"
I have seen Glitter Mist around but have never purchased it for my craft space good thing because not I don't have to. Here is how I made my homemade "Glitter Mist"...
Glitter Mist...
Spray Bottle
Water (or hairspray)
Perfect Pearls
Re-inker
1) Place 1/4t of Perfect Pearls into your spray bottle
2) Fill Spray Bottle with water or Hairspray
3) Drop 15 to 20 drops of re-inker into the bottle
4) Mix
5) Spray
Give this a try, I have to make a new color today I have used up all of the first batch I have made. LOL! Go on give it a try you will love it.
Here is the post where I used my mist this week "Double the Fun", I sprayed my Glitter Mist onto a sheet of PTI White Card Stock and it became the back ground for the flowers. It is hard to photograph this glimmer and shimmer but IRL it looks great.
If you decide to take this challenge please leave a comment in this post with a link to your creation I would love to see it. Once again I will draw from the entries for a RAK to send out to one lucky entrant.
What is on your "top shelf" and are you going to challenge yourself with it today?

It's Not Hip to be Square LSC173
Yesterday on Splitcoaststampers the limited supply challenge was called, "It's not hip to be square LSC173" for this challenge we were to make a shape card. I was working on my Diaper Bag Tutorial a few weeks ago and never finished this card so I pulled it out today to finish what I started, love it! This takes me back to my Da Vinci phase of not completing works of art, just think how the art world would be today if Da Vinci finished more of his projects.
Template below is from Frisky Feline I altered my bottle a tad from this pattern.

Fishing Father's Day...
My DH had some work to finish up here on Sunday, he finished our driveway Saturday and needed to remove forms and clean tools etc. When I called to wish my Dad a happy Father's Day I did not think we could go see him cause we were busy here. Sometimes it is worth it just to stop what you are doing and make someone day and that is what we did. We left so fast I forgot to take a final photo of his Father's Day project so this photo is courtesy of Jan, Thank you!....
The Lure on the front will be saved from drowning in the lake so I figure this was my good deed for all the lures I lost for my Dad when I was growing up. Kind of looks like a great Tree Bass to me all messed up the those great Basic Grey fibers.
I used a Father's Day card from the round 6 PTI swap for the title page. Card was made by Debcst and it uses one of the newer PTI sets Pond Life.
I adhered the DVD and its case to the inside back acrylic cover so he would know where to find it.
Here is a link to the song I downloaded for his photo DVD it is called I Fish Walleye and it is from the Bobbers. LOL! I just can't get over this it was the perfect song for him and very funny to boot you have to go and take a listen if you have the time.
Some photos in his book...
Above photo Dad and Me with the catch of the day!
Above photo is a family shot of us up at the lake for the 4th a few years ago. Wow, I have really put the weight back on UGH! Can you guess where I am in the photo?

WSC52 Faux Silk for 50 States...
Have to say it has been a few days since any of my SU stamps have seen ink. I have been using my PTI stash like a mad woman. If you would have asked me less than a year ago if I used clear stamps my answer would have been, "no, I don't like them". Guess what, now I LOVE THEM and PTI clear stamps takes the cake for me, just is case you have not guessed that by now. LOL! A friend of mine sent me a link for a 50 state card swap on SCS, they needed to fill the SD spot so I said yes. Here is my 50state swap card using SU stamps and products but a technique that I love from Nichole Heady's blog...(had to fit PTI somewhere on this card).

Diaper Bag Technique (a tutorial)...
This was my submission project for the PaperTrey Ink Best Baby Gift June GSS. It is a stationary set tucked into a diaper bag, such a great gift for a busy new Mom. She can track her gifts with the notebook and send out personal thank yous using handmade cards. Thank you for visiting, enjoy!
My finished project holds 6 matching cards with envies, two beaded pens and a mini altered composition notebook.
Supply list...
designer papers
card stock
ribbon
7" zipper
red line tape
Velcro
Fiscars score blade or Scor-Pal
corner rounder
sewing machine
Tutorial...
1) First you will need to make two Card Keepers.
The template can be found here
Impressions Card Holder
Use your Designer papers for the card keepers
2) Cut the bottom of your diaper bag from the same designer paper you used for the card keepers.
6" by 2 1/2" is the dimension
3) Cut your sides for the diaper bag from the same designer series paper as your card keepers and the bottom of bag.
2 1/2" by 5" (you will need two of these pieces)
Score on the tall side at 4 1/2" (this will make your flap to attach the sides to the bottom of your bag).
4) Attach your sides to the card keepers using redliner tape.
Photo above is of one side attached to one card keeper
Photo above is of one side attached to both card keepers
Photo above is of both sides attached to both card keepers
5) Attach your ribbon to the diaper bag using redliner tape, start your ribbon on the bottom of one of the sides.
Above photo shows you where to start adhering your length of ribbon
Above photo shows you how your ribbon looks when it is attached completely to the bottom of the diaper bag
6) Attach your bottom to your scored flaps of the sides and the bottoms of your card keepers.
Above photo shows the bottom attached to the diaper bag
Above photo shows your diaper bag as it should look after completing the above steps
7) Now you are ready to make your side pockets.
cut two pieces of card stock 3" by 3 3/4"
Score these pieces 1/4" on three sides (Do not score the top.)
Above is a photo of the two side pockets and how they should be scored then folded
8) Attach your pockets by placing redliner tape on your 1/4" folds and adhere to your diaper bag sides. Now this would traditionally become your bottle holders of your diaper bag, I used my side pockets to hold the beaded pens for my stationary set.
Above photo is of the completed pocket on the diaper bag
9) Center top closure is made by attaching your card stock with redliner tape to your 7" zipper. If you have access to a sewing machine this would be a fantastic place to use it to attach your zipper to the card stock. (For my project I stuck with the redliner tape, I do have issues with the zipper pulling off as you try to zip or unzip the diaper bag.)
Here are the dimensions for the card stock 6" by 1", score the length at center 1/2". You will need two of these strips.
10) Attach your zipper and card stock to the card keepers with redliner tape.
Above photo you see the zipper attached to the card stock, I used redliner tape and placed the card stock right up against the zipper teeth. For this diaper bag I used eyelets to help adhere the zipper to the card stock where I have used Faux stitching I would recommend that you used an actual sewing machine.
Above photo shows the zipper assembly attached to the diaper bag.
I would love to see your Diaper Bag project please link in the comments for this post or send me a pic my email addy is paschal.sara@gmail.com

Retro Glasses part 2...
Here I am in the 9th grade big glasses, feathered hair and an oxford shirt. Man, I had the 80's down pat!
Now this Pic I can LOL at it is of my Sister in the 10th grade. She really had the 80's style going remember the skinny ties the girls thought were cool? Were they ever really cool? NOT, LOL! (She is going to hurt me I can feel it coming!)
I still had these dopey glassed when I graduated high school, how did I ever become an honor student and a Fashion Major with glasses like that?
Don't forget the release party over on PIT forum and Nichole's blog tonight! A ton of new fantastic things are on the way. I will have my technique up on Sunday for my June GSS project for PTI.
Happy Stamp Day!

Retro is Bloomin...
Our DD and her BFF found these "Cool" sunglasses they just love them. Somehow they did not believe me when I told them I used to wear glasses like that back in the day and how we used to place a sticker in one of the corners. Do you remember? I just had a birthday but I don't feel as old and the girls make me out to be, LOL!
Here is a fun 80's link that will show and tell some of the hot trends.
70's Glasses
If anyone can find a link out there that shows eyeglasses from the 70's early 80's with a sticker on them down in the corner please share it with me I would love to go check it out. In the meantime I will look for a photo of me with my "retro glasses".
I made up this card for a RAK that will be going out to Canada for Melissa who participated in one of my Scrapbook Layout Challenges. You can find the gallery for this SPSB2 layout here on SCS

Big Surprise...
Happy Birthday wishes going out today to my friend Dana, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
In the above photo I used the largest block that came in my starter set from PTI to create the background image. Here the ink was pounced onto the acrylic block compared to being swiped across the block as the cards were that appear in my challenge post Acrylic Block Party.
The winner of a RAK for my Acrylic Block Party challenge is Paula. Paula please email me your snail mail info to paschal.sara@gmail.com and thank you for playing along with my challenge.
My DH came home on Tuesday a total train wreck he told me he was in a car accident on his way home in our new van. His exact words were, "there is a huge flat spot on the back bumper". So I go getting all excited wondering if he was okay and if he called it into insurance and so on. Had to find my camera so I could go get a pic when I got outside it was a joke he had brought home my bday gift and it was leaning against the back of the van (the flat spot). How he can tell such a story and not laugh or give anything away is beyond me but, here it is the big flat spot on the bumper...
Here is a link to a chair like mine if you wish to find out more about them...
Gravity Recliner
The weather has been so nice I have been spending lots of time outside the past few days and it has been causing my back to hurt more and I can't get comfortable. So he actually remembered what was on my bday list (other then PTI stamp supplies) and bought this for me. The weather is nasty here today so when it gets outside I will take a different photo for you.
Product list...
PTI stamp set Beautiful Blooms
PTI perfect match ink
PTI stampers select white card stock
stamp a majig
acrylic stickers (flower centers)
Happy Stamp Day!

More Happy Birthday Wishes to share....
Once again a huge thank you to all of you who sent birthday greetings my way, I had a wonderful day. Spent my time outdoors around the pool soaking up some elusive sunshine and it sure felt GREAT! One Minor mishap I managed to break my big toe on my left foot. I just know my family is LOL just reading this. Seems as if every summer I manage to do this to myself, this time I had the aid of a #10 coffee can hit the third knuckle OUCH! In the past it has been a water slide and a swimming pool where the damages occurred.
