Project Life 2012

This is one of the big projects on my list for this year

 baring anymore serious life events that pull 

me out of the creative game for months at a time.

All my pieces have finally arrived, that was an adventure in itself.  

Project Life came out being sold as a kit everything came you you in one box, one shipment.  

Now everything is being offered by the piece and some pieces are hard to find.  

Needless to say, I don't like the piece by piece ordering!!!!

As promised here is my sketch card for CPS...


My card base is a Sizziz Bigz scallop die and some of the scallops were cut out of the scan. IRL this card is a true beauty and I so thank Chrys23 for sharing some of her cherished Basic Grey Bittersweet with me. Thank you ;)


When I was a kid I so enjoyed playing hide and seek with my Grandmother. She usually put it in the same spot so it never took long to find it, here fave spots were the top of the door frame or on the chandelier or ceiling fan. Anyhow it was a great time easy or not, I wonder if she ever figured out that we knew what she was up to? Anyhow the point I am making is that PTI is going to release BUTTONS on the 15th, I am so very excited. They have made buttons to match the Perfect Match colors in many different shapes and sizes just like Grandmas buttons. So can't wait to get my hands on some of these...

Free Ride SBSC150, 30/30 challenge day 19

I totally was singing this song as I assembled my page "Free Ride" by Edgar Winter and here is the story...

Every year in August Sioux Falls hosts the Sioux Empire Fair. We have a good friend that works for a local newspaper and she gets free passes to Press Day at the fair. A short talent program, crowning of the fair queen, supper and FREE RIDES are included. We have gone a few times in the past and the kids totally enjoyed it. These photos are from two years ago, we met my BIL and the kids there. Everyone has a great time, how can you not when the rides are FREE?

I am not sure I like the journaling, do you have any ideas for me on how I could change it? The white jumps out so much compared to the rest of the colors on the page.

I am in Jen's 30/30 challenge and out of my fave adhesives so I had to use these photo splits. How do I hate them let me count the ways... I throw them on the floor so they stay off my work area and everyone runs around the house with them stuck on the bottoms of their feet. LOL!! This photo is a simulation, my DD enjoyed playing along.

30/30 challenge Day 8 Fluffles SC185

Okay, here is my 8th day of projects for Jen's 30/30 challenge and the SC185 on SCS. This stamp and the Making Memories paper have not seen the light of day in almost a year. It is trilling to shop in Sara's store and see what I have been hiding from myself, LOL!

Diaper Bag Technique (a tutorial)...

This was my submission project for the PaperTrey Ink Best Baby Gift June GSS. It is a stationary set tucked into a diaper bag, such a great gift for a busy new Mom. She can track her gifts with the notebook and send out personal thank yous using handmade cards. Thank you for visiting, enjoy!


My finished project holds 6 matching cards with envies, two beaded pens and a mini altered composition notebook.



Supply list...
designer papers
card stock
ribbon
7" zipper
red line tape
Velcro
Fiscars score blade or Scor-Pal
corner rounder
sewing machine

Tutorial...
1) First you will need to make two Card Keepers.
The template can be found here
Impressions Card Holder
Use your Designer papers for the card keepers


2) Cut the bottom of your diaper bag from the same designer paper you used for the card keepers.
6" by 2 1/2" is the dimension


3) Cut your sides for the diaper bag from the same designer series paper as your card keepers and the bottom of bag.
2 1/2" by 5" (you will need two of these pieces)
Score on the tall side at 4 1/2" (this will make your flap to attach the sides to the bottom of your bag).

4) Attach your sides to the card keepers using redliner tape.

5) Attach your ribbon to the diaper bag using redliner tape, start your ribbon on the bottom of one of the sides.

6) Attach your bottom to your scored flaps of the sides and the bottoms of your card keepers.

7) Now you are ready to make your side pockets.
cut two pieces of card stock 3" by 3 3/4"
Score these pieces 1/4" on three sides (Do not score the top.)

8) Attach your pockets by placing redliner tape on your 1/4" folds and adhere to your diaper bag sides. Now this would traditionally become your bottle holders of your diaper bag, I used my side pockets to hold the beaded pens for my stationary set.

9) Center top closure is made by attaching your card stock with redliner tape to your 7" zipper. If you have access to a sewing machine this would be a fantastic place to use it to attach your zipper to the card stock. (For my project I stuck with the redliner tape, I do have issues with the zipper pulling off as you try to zip or unzip the diaper bag.)
Here are the dimensions for the card stock 6" by 1", score the length at center 1/2". You will need two of these strips.



10) Attach your zipper and card stock to the card keepers with redliner tape.

Above photo you see the zipper attached to the card stock, I used redliner tape and placed the card stock right up against the zipper teeth. For this diaper bag I used eyelets to help adhere the zipper to the card stock where I have used Faux stitching I would recommend that you used an actual sewing machine.

Retro is Bloomin...

Our DD and her BFF found these "Cool" sunglasses they just love them. Somehow they did not believe me when I told them I used to wear glasses like that back in the day and how we used to place a sticker in one of the corners. Do you remember? I just had a birthday but I don't feel as old and the girls make me out to be, LOL!

Just in the "Mick of Time"...

It was our Friends DD's birthday on the 19th, she had her party on Saturday. Most of you know I have been impatiently waiting for my PTI order to arrive well this is why. I had this scrapbook in my head I wanted to make for her and was able to pull it off in the "Mick of Time". Mick is a nickname for McKayla, her mom uses it the most I prefer to call her McKayla, such a pretty name. After calling UPS on Friday and not being able to have the box held I had to wait for delivery on Monday, ARGH! I was able to present it to her on Monday night so all is well in the end and the best part is she loved it! Turns out it was a good thing she got the gift on her actual birthday and not on Saturday, funny how things work isn't it?

I love the Pretty Pink Prints and just thought it would go so well with my fave photos of her. On this page you can see a card envelope, this will be a great place for her to put all of those birthday cards. (To make the card envelope I had to first stick the envelope closed then cut down to the 8" length. I put it through the BIA after I had the front decorated and punched it on the non flap side. Now she can slide the cards in from the top and they will be secure.)

SPSB2 Baby Toys

Here is my layout challenge completed. I used our youngest DD playing in her fave toys her first year of life. The other two were jealous and thought she had a ton of toys so they made her a crown to wear out of all her baby wrist rattles and dubbed her "the Queen of Toys". So who's room can't we get into because of all the toys (hint it is not our youngest) LOL! These mosaic frames were fun to make and I used one of my fave color combos of Tempting Turquoise and Green Galore, love it even more mounted on the black.

Mosaic Frames How To...
1. Cut up scraps of your fave colors all sizes
2. Adhere to Basic Black Card Stock Rectangle
3. Remove Center
4. Adhere your selected photos to the back of your frame

What a wonderful way to use up some scraps.

SPSB1 Easter 2002 page...
