Here Fishy Fishy....

So are you asking yourself what she is going to do now with fish tank tube do you really want to know? Sure you do and I bet once you make one you will keep on making these. They are really fun, easy to do and all ways are a fantastic seller at craft shows, Bracelets....Made with paper scraps and fish tank air tubing.





Here is where the story starts, I saw an entry last month in the digital contest at Paper Trey and it took my breath away. (Turns out she was one of the winners of the stamp sets, don't have to wonder why here is the example Capture the Moment WCMD winners.)

So I looked around SCS for a way to make it and found Marriam she told me how to get it done. Take a peak at her wonderful design.

However I changed gears a tad from the way these were made I make all my bracelets with toggle clasps, crimp beads and wire. I do not like to use the stretchy cord, but you can if it is your preference. I have not had any luck with the knots even when they are super glued, beads are all ways flying when I use stretch cord.



So to make my bracelet you will need...
Toggle Clasp
Crimp Bead
Beading Wire
Fish Tank Air Tubing (Wal-Mart)
Scrap DP
Glass Beads
Spacer Beads
Jewelry Pliers (to cut the wire and crimp the crimp bead)
Beading board (not necessary but is wonderful to have if you make a bunch of beaded items like I do, shown in the above photo.)

To make your paper bead cut scraps of DP no longer than a toothpick and 1/2" wide. Roll the paper around the toothpick and insert the paper into the fish tank tubing. Cut your beads the length you wish them to be.

Standard bracelet length is 7 to 7 1/2" I am far from standard and make mine 8 to 8 1/2" in length.

Step 1 cut a 10" length of beading wire
Step 2 put on a crimp bead
Step 3 put on one end of the toggle and bring the wire back through the crimp bead
Step 4 Crimp the crimp bead with the Jewelry Pliers and you have one end completed.
Step 5 string on your beads
Step 6 crimp bead
Step 7 other end of toggle and bring wire back through the crimp bead
Step 8 crimp the bead and you have your bracelet.

These are so fun to make and really easy also. My Sister came over to stamp on Thursday and we were sidetracked making these. Here is the link to the SCS thread ... Paper Bows We also made some from single sided DP and they turned out cute also, my Sister Rocks when it comes to awesome DP we had a bunch to pick from. And I have a thank you going out to her for the ones she left for me to use and for lunch, YUMMY! It is a great time when she comes to see us. Plus a big CONGRATS on over 75lbs lost, so happy for you!

So frustrating, we had our router go out on us just one week after switching all of this stuff around. Now my DH has my laptop hooked up and we have to take turns, not much fun. Just like not having our DVR working for a week, thought I was going to go nuts then also. I can remember as a kid I was the remote to a black and white TV, look at me now, LOL!

I am so HAPPY....

I was online this AM and saw a thread that was saying you can now sell your handmade Stamping Up cards on the Internet and in retail locations, YAHOO!!!!!!

I did make a quick call to Stampin' UP!, and this was verified however, the web site on the Angel Policy is not updated at this time.

I am so Happy, so very very Happy!

Thank you Stampin' up! for making this wonderful change to your Angel Policy, now we can sell more stuff and make more purchases!

Today is the first day for my new blog header, what do you think? It was made for me by Revka Stearns. Thank you so much for taking the time to find out what I like and making a great header for me!

Now it is time to answer a few questions from some previous posts...

Cheryl asks what I used to put the bottom on my coaster box?
Answer, Modge podge glue. I pushed the bottom up to the last hole with ribbon rested it against this and Modge Podged away on the inside and out. When people attach it to the bottom I hear they use E600 adhesive that you can purchase at any home store. (This would be the best way to go if the stuff you are going to place in your box is heavy.)

Pat asks why I called my card not so quick Baroque...
For me the first card I make is never fast that is why I like to make multiple cards once I have all the pieces figured out I just keep cutting,I like to leave most of these cards blank so I can use them for anything that comes up.

Box it up...

I am so proud of my first ever Coaster Box, I used Apple cider DP on it with some wasabi and true thyme ribbon. It was hard for me to punch all of the holes I used my anywhere hole punch, left me wishing for a Crop-a-dile for sure.
I don't work much with Modge Podge but does this stuff ever really dry? I did up some extra coasters and I thought they were dry but they have stuck together, some I have saved but I did have to get rid of a few of them.
So now my little gem sits on my work table and as you can see it holds the good stuff, beaded pens and CHOCOLATE (yummy)!

Not so quick Baroque...

This is one of the cards I made on my Sunday Stamp day I was inspired by Duckwaddlequack in the scs gallery here is a link to her card Quick Baroque by DWQ
I have all of these great Creative Memories papers from my Sister that I just had to break open the package, my fave colors of course the kit is called shades of Olive, LOVE IT! I used mellow moss ink and Artichoke and they matched the colors in the paper so nice. To get the scallops I used my Provo Craft Scallop scissors and the brads are SU.

Danielle's Benefit....

I had set aside Sunday for my Mom only stamping day and wow did I ever get a ton of things accomplished. First today I want to show you the nugget tin that I made using the Holiday Treat Set from Paper Trey. I actually made two twin ones that are going to the benefit for Danielle on Sunday. The colors I used were Wassabi and Ballet Blue and for an extra touch I put on a wassabi ribbon. (I just love these are they not yummy?)

Now for an update on my DD's knee, we were at the DR. yesterday morning and this was the news she has gotten. She can now start using her knee with restricted exercises and some walking and bike riding. We go back to the Dr Christmas Eve and if she has shown strength and gotten past the pain she will be good to go. If not he said they are going to have to go in and anchor it down (by it I mean the bone chip that is floating around in there along with the tendons that pulled off). So keep your fingers crossed for her that she can work past the pain, remember it has now been almost 6 months in the immobilizing brace for her so it is going to take a ton of hard work.
