The first card I made was a Shilloette Card, this was such fun and I was happy to find some glitter paper in my stash of goodies...

Then they started talking on the blog about Naked Christmas From their blog...
The dark, naked wood points to the Cross. Each twig is a reminder that Christmas was only the beginning of our redemption story. That baby in a manger was destined for crucifixion. So we purposefully left a few branches bare. No amount of lights and ornaments can mask the stark truth of His death for our eternal life.

The tree, obtained from a nearby obliging forest, fits nicely into our Christmas tree stand, even though it’s only got about a three inch trunk. And you’d be surprised how much farther we could stretch our lights and ornaments without all those needles in the way. We didn’t spend a penny on lights this year, and yet somehow we had enough to cover every inch of our doubled-in-size tree.

I think it’s my favorite Christmas tree ever...Before you dive into the Christmas season head on, take a moment with your family to stop and question everything. What are you doing this year to be intentional about seeing Christ in Christmas? How can you make old traditions new with a bit of frugal creativity? What can you change about this Christmas to give it genuine worth?


Put CHRIST back into your CHRISTmas this year find the PEACE and BEAUTY of the true meaning of CHRISTmas and hang onto the CHRIST spirit in 2010.

Home Depot Kids Workshop

The girls LOVE going to this workshop in our area it is the first Saturday AM of the Month so the next one is Sat Dec 5th (today) and on deck to make is a wagon. You can find more information at this link or call your local Home Depot.

I have been working this week on some Sleds the older girls made YEARS ago, in fact when they are done with the projects a Home Depot Employee inspects them and then signs them the date on these was 2003! Yikes, I am way behind. This girls put a base coat of Acrylic paint on them around the same time and every year they make the trip downstairs and then promptly get placed out of the way. This year I have decided to finish them and the girls are more then happy, so happy in fact now little J wants her own. I called my Sister to see if her kids had made them and if so I they were willing to part with on of them. She said they had not and told me to surf the net to see what I can find. So here I am surfing away and so far no luck, they show some kits at the provided link but not the sled. So if you are reading this post and have one of these sleds you would part with can you please email me at

Cricut Winter Woodland 3D Church

YIKES, I have had on my list to give these 3D houses on the Winter Woodland Cartridge a try. On Sunday I sat down to create the Church, HOLY HELP ME HANNAH I had a heck of a time. I was on the Cricut Message boards, I was on YouTube trying to figure out the Church. It ended up a bit of a mess and I could not figure out the open doors (wow talk about life imitating art KWIM)? So below you see my not so Masterful Masterpiece I have yet to retry when I get up the nerve again I will show you the second attempt.




I cut my Church on my Expression using the fit to page feature so the largest it cuts on a 12 by 12 mat would be 4 1/4". When you cut the layers for the church to fit you need to make sure the fit to page and real dial size buttons are off and you have your size dial set to 4 1/4"
