What A HOOT!

What a HOOT indeed, this little guy is so very CUTE!
This was a team effort.
I let Jessica pick the digital kit and elements to use.
Did she do an awesome job or what?

This will officially be her birthday card from Mom and Dad.
  That is what she wanted;)

A quick video showing you the card fold...

So the digital download she picked from was...
This is a free dowload kit by justjaimee, I highly suggest
you go snag one!
she has many wonderful things on her page, so grab a cup and surf for a bit;)

We printed off the sentiment and an extra owl so we could
pop them up with foam tape.
The ribbon is from PaperTrey Ink.

This is a digitally designed card template from Jessica Sprague.

So Very Blessed by a Wonderfully Gracious God

ONE YEAR
365 Days

Here is the link to my post
Driving Accident
(Want to catch up on our one year journey check into the posts following the one listed above.)

Just a quick update on the subject.
Donna is finished with all Dr. Appointments.
Her body has healed and that  is truly a miracle from God.
I have posted this song Hold On for her and I
this is how we made it through this past year...

"I want to see you smile again, give some love to your CrAzY fRiEnDs.
Wipe your tears away those days are through."

"And the stars are up there shining for you.
Oh how the Father does adore you.
 His lOVE will never change!"

As for myself I continue to have overwhelming anxiety, PTSD, sleepless nights
and constant worry for the safety of our girls.
I can't seem to get the sceene and my reactions to move on out.
When my phone rings, I won't answer, fearful of what is on the other end.
. ( My family has gotten used to texting or PM's on FB.)
Slowly I am coming around to the fact that I am not in control of anything!
Nothing I could have done different on August 16 would have changed the circumstance.
Everything that happens to us is in someway a GIFT from God.
(May take some time to see what the GIFT is but it is there cloaked in the darkness.)

Today I wish to share with you one gracious GIFT God had hidden in the dark just for me.
I figured out I had to do something different to become unstuck.
I found myself with more than my usual level of creativity.
So with the new year and a clean slate I decided to to something big.
"Go Big or Go Home"
seeing as how we don't know how to do anything small it is fitting don't you think?

I would get so excited when I saw a crafty friend published in my favorite craft magazine
Paper Crafts
I would do a happy dance for them.
Our girls thought I was CrAzY and  they asked me why I did not submit to publications.
I had lots of excuses for not.  But, with the faith they had in me I gave it a go.
!!!!So I started submitting thus arriving here today!!!!
Paper Crafts
September/October 2011
!!!!On your newsstand today!!!!

Pages 69 and 74
are showing off projects I designed.
Woo Woo!

********************************************
ONE YEAR
Exactly 365 Days to the DAY!
August 16 2010-August 16 2011
********************************************
I have posted this song for you before you know it as one of my favorites.
I just can't get enough I am always inspired when I listen to it.
TobyMac Get Back Up

"It is never to late to get back up again.
Maybe knocked down but not out forever..."

I want to take time to thank all of my wonderful family, friends and faithful blog readers that have supported myself and the family through this past year.
You are all a wonderful God given gift!
I love and appreciate each and everyone of you!
Thank you!  God Bless!

Photo Play Gift Set

I loved this pic and I have had much fun playing around with using it in different ways.  Today I have a gift set to show you making use of the Glass Tiles and PTI Tins I just can't get enough of.

Photo from HERE

Listen to some Traditional music as you scroll and surf;)

Okay, here is a class photo...

Here is the card I made it using SCS tutorial on Easel Cards found HERE.  It has been a very long time since I did one of these.  However, you most likely are going to be seeing more of them around;)
The bridge was cut from Cricut Pagode Cartirdge at 2" one on regular one on shadow. I did not write the branch cuts down they were left over from my weekend MESS!

I found this quote that I just loved it reads...
"In the Cherry Blossom's shade
there's no such thing
as a stranger."
Kobayashi Issa

Here is a shot of the tin and tile necklace.  I sure hope you make one of these beauties soon they are such fun.  My girls love them so do their friends.  What great gifts they make!  I printed out the photo, punched it with a Marvy circle punch then micro beaded the top.  I wrapped strips of extra photo around the upper lid and punched another circle this time from cardstock to place in the bottom of the tin.

Product list...
Cricut Expression
Cricut Pagode cartridge
PTI cardstock and bling
SU cardstock
computer
photo printer

Wonderfully BLESSED?!

This new line from Teresa Collins is WONDERFUL to play with.  I am the first one to tell you I am not a big fan on PaperTrey's Raspberry Fizz in fact not a pink girly girl by any stretch of your imagination.
Hmm, guess who has to order more cardstock in Raspberry Fizz?  Who?  Me?  Couldn't be!

I purchased Teresa Collins Posh collections at Scrapbook.com

This card was made for my challenge over Inspired Crafters you can find it here.
The challenge picks three major trends showing up Spring 2011 in the fashion industry.  I have a rant about the nautical stripes.  Every year there is nautical stripes so is it truly a trend?  Hmm?  I DON'T THINK SO!.

The Wonderfully FAB crochet flower was indeed made by yours truly;)
There is lace and stripes in the Teresa Collins DP.  So there you have it I fit all the trends or (non trends) into this creation.  Go Me!  Join us on the challenge show me what you've got!
{{Hugs and prayers go out to Banu,  thinking about you my friend.}}

Okay, so where am I pulling my title for this little bit?  Here we go...

My wonderfully faithful friend Jen told me... God blesses his chosen ones she says...
 I am one BLESSED SISTER!

Not by happenstance/circumstance/just chance... I sat down for the first time in a week to create.
Turned on Life 96.5 Turning Point was on.
(I listen once in a while not all the time, most nights when I am seeking peace or just a
PEACEFUL place to THINK and CREATE.)

No, I did not get much creating done but my pen learned how to fly!  Here is a sample for you...

We can be mad.  We can give up, lie down and quit living.
Or we can say, Lord
teach me; teach me things that I could never have learned any other way.
Not “why me?”, But Lord, I will not be the same person.
I will learn from this...
I can tell you that you will never see life the same again...changed everything.  The moon is brighter.  The sun is more brilliant.  The
golden waving wheat is more wonderful.

Helen Steiner Rice, “Bend in the Road”:  Sometimes we come to life’s crossroads and
we view what we think is the end.  But God has a much wider vision and he knows it’s
only a bend.  The road will go on and get smoother and after we’ve stopped for a rest,
the path that lies hidden beyond us is often the path that is best.  So rest and relax and
grow stronger.  Let go and let God share your load.  Have faith in a brighter tomorrow.
You’ve just come to a bend in the road.”

My Children are hurting.  Alive.  I am blessed.
Donna will soon be enjoying Montana.  I am Blessed.
(LOL, She will take this the wrong way!)
Jessica, went missing then was found.  I am Blessed.
I feel pain.  I am Blessed.
I struggle.  I am Blessed
I have a very long list of Blessings,
**I **AM** ONE** WONDERFULLY** BLESSED** SISTER!**

Just got the call from OI.  The Burst Compression fracture is not healing.  Appointment has been set for the 26th of March for Donna to see Dr. McKenzie.
Dr. McKenzie cares for my back concerns and has done surgery on my Aunt, we are thankful God has him working in our lives and are confident he will take us down the correct healing path.
Leads me to wonder why most the Tieszen's in the area were so called... Bone Setters?!
LOL!  They needed their own Dr. Supply.
ROTFLMAO (if my back would allow that is)!

Happy Stamp Day.  God Bless!  When you are Wonderfully Blessed be thankful;)

Kickin' It Old School

Okay, today I am Kickin' It Old School going back to basics in the creation of cards. Since the Accident I have had been in my craft room very little I started back slow and made CAS (Clean And Simple) creations the above is one of them. I used glitter chipboard elements from My Minds Eye and Sentiment from Papertrey.

Kanzashi Fabric Flower

I found this flower and video on Woman's Day Here is the link to the page...
Fabric Flower
For the little flower shown this was L's and My first attempt (A tad Wonky) but Little J loves it. I attached this one to a barrette first with some tack glue then a few stitches just to make sure it was secure.

I was so very happy when I found this flower I thought NEW have not seen it on card creations before. Well after I was finished learning the fold and making my sample for this blog post I found an awesome card using a similar fold on SCS...link below.
Here is a link to a card by Makiko Jones on SCS using a similar folded flower.

Happy Birthday "Lil Bloomer" Rolled Paper Rose

I am so happy to have full time access once again to the net, being unplugged is not a fun thing at all! This week I am bringing you "Lil Bloomer" week, a week full of creative flowers. Today it is a Rolled Paper Rose.

A wonderful crafty friend of mine is celebrating a birthday Today, Happy Birthday Amy! You can find her blog here...The Stamping Tree.

How to make the "Lil bloomer" rolled paper rose...

Cut a 5" square from double sided DP or card stock (The side that you roll into the center will be the side that shows up most on your flower.)
Start cutting a 1/4" spiral using a shape scissors, stop cutting the spiral when you are down to a small circle. (This becomes the bottom of the flower that you will attach the rolled paper to.)
After your spiral is cut start rolling it on the start end, pinching the bottom a bit.
Work your way to the end circle.
Place the paper on top of the circle and let the rolling relax to make the center of the flower loose.
Place glue on the circle and adhere the bloom.
You can smash and distress, place buttons or bling in the flower center.

Product list...
Sei DP
Shape scissors
PTI card stock, stamp set and bling
Ribbon Vintage (unknown)
SU felt flower
embroidery thread

Have a Happy Stamp Day, God Bless!
