Swap Card

This is a swap card I have been working on, It used the Cuttlebug only, no stamping here today. I embossed the black in the Happy Birthday folder and mounted it on Orchid Opulence. Next I cut purple and green (Green Galore) asterisks flowers and mounted them on the black card stock. I then took my white gel pen and filled in the word Birthday for the last step I mounted some green ribbon on a piece of Orchid paper. Quick and easy, I love it!

Re-Do of Chocolate Chips

I reworked the card from last weeks LSC. I must say I do like this one better. I added some ribbon, used my scallop square punch, and some glitter, (on the red part of strawberry, makes it look like sugar IRL). It just so happens that this could be considered my favorite food group.

LSC 114 on SCS

OK, this was the challenge that caused me to make cookies on Friday, YUMMY! Yet, I do not like how this turned out. I am going to play around with it, using more supplies and see what I get. I will be sure and post so you can see the difference. For this card I used the Cho. Chip Wheel with close to cocoa ink. For the food stamps I used close to cocoa, real red and glorious green markers.

David's Scrapbook

Wow, finally finished! I have been working since September of '06 on family photographs, getting them scanned in to my computer and making scrapbooks and CD's for all of my siblings and my Father. The project started with my Dad turning 75 this past January and I wanted to give him a scrapbook as a gift. (This is a learning story here.) When my Mother passed away my Dad thought his world had ended and he wanted to get rid of it all, and I mean all. He took countless loads of items to the dump and one night called up my Sister and said come to the house get what you want I have sold it, what you don't want is going to the dump. We headed over right away and saved the photos, (can you believe it he was going to toss all the photos)! We split them up, or so I thought but know one has any besides myself, personally I think my brother has them but after his divorce somehow I think my x-sister in law has them at her place. My Father has been asking for the photos, sure he wants them now however he is not going to get the originals, for his birthday he received a scrapbook and two CD's one of JPEG'S and the other a DVD that I made for him. And ever since I have been working on photos to share with all of my Brothers and Sisters now, I have completed the last one. Here is how I did it..

1. Cut card stock to 6" square, I used white, Not Quite Navy and Mellow Moss
2. Next I took it to the local print store and had it bound, only cost $1.00 (I still have the Rubicoil on my Birthday list)
3. I took my CD of scanned photos to Wal-Mart and had some printed out 4 By 6
4. Next I ran scraps of the three chosen colors through my Xyron
5. Then I punched squares and paper piecing and made one D with the Sizzix
6. Now I put in my photographs
7. Next I went back and added my punched pieces
8. On some pages I used my white gel pen for some stitching and limited journaling ( the DVD has all the names and places so I decided not to repeat that much here to save time)
9. On the front and back covers I mounted CD folders sponged in Not Quite Navy with Red line tape

This project in total took me under two hours to finish, funny how the scrapbooks got smaller the more I made. Now everything will start all over as soon as I get my scanner to work with XP or we get a new one, I have about 200 more to go...

And to moral to this story is, Death is not an end to all life it is just the beginning of a new one so have patience and enjoy the memories. (Dad will be remarried now in June for 11 years.)

This is my first attempt

I followed the instructions for the inside pockets, but for the lack of a binding product (is on my birthday list) I made my own cover with a strip of pixie pink. Two inches score, 1 1/2 inches score, then cut off at another 2 inches this will make the spine. Then I glued Dec paper to the front folder pocket, added my spine glued paper to the back pocket and glued the back of the spine. I used my Sizzix to cut out the "CARDS" for my front. My next attempt will be to make one for My Step Mom for her BD and Mothers Day. Hopefully I can get some better photos of that one for you. I love it is is great, I get the card made and slide it in the pocket write the event on the correct day so I know when it needs to be mailed out (EASY). Now if I could just get the rubicoil for my Birthday- Oh, Hunny!

Out of the Box

This week I have stepped out of my normal box of colors that I use when crafting. I have been stuck on So Saffron, not quite navy, then I will add celery or regal rose. (I like these color combos).

The top right photo shows a card where I ran transparency through the CB embossing folder, I love how this turned out, (was hard to get a good photo), this was the challenge today on SCS. It worked best when I had a piece of card stock behind the transparency.

The bottom left card was a case from SCS Oceangirl . (Follow this link and it will take you to her gallery.) I loved this punch but rarely use it, guess it gets to come out and play again for a while.

The bottom right hand photo was used with the flip flop wheel. The words need to be redone but I used the stamp Celebrate the Season, IRL this looks really cute. This was also a case from a card done by Cindy McVey (this weeks card pick, follow the previously listed link to her gallery). I like how she used the wheel stamp then punched out parts.

Happiness Always

I just love this set it has become attached to my right hand! Anyhow for this weeks SCS challenges I have used it twice (CC112 and SC122).

For the top card I used Celery, Ballet Blue and Saffron. I first embossed the card and the strip of ballet blue. Then I used the ticket punch on the corners and mounted the papers. On the background strip I added brads to the corners. For the stamped image it was Happiness always and I did some masking. I sponged on all colors then sponged the edges in Ballet Blue. The top panel was mounted with pop dots.

The second card was made using Regal Rose and Rose Red this was for the think pink SCS Challenge on Tuesday. I embossed again using the cuttlebug embossing folder, used the ticket corner punch and layered up card stock. I wanted to keep it simple and so I used the embossing as my main image.
