Happy Holiday Penguin Stress!

I was woke up on Tuesday by my husband telling me we had a flat and while trying to fix it he broke three lugs. So, he took the day off to take our one and only running car in to Sioux Falls to purchase new tires. Thought he would do all four but ended up coming home with two new ones and half the bill (not bad I thought).

Next I wanted to sit down and make some cards, nice simple, easy no fuss cards. Well how about crooked, wonky, runny and frustrating cards instead. Okay, I was stepping out of the box, set to case a card I had seen at the store and just adored it was a new Memory Box Penguin in a Santa Suit (cute right). He was on a 4 1/2" square card so I thought I would give this shape of card a try because the envies were right there as well (Amuse Brand) so I picked up what I would need and we left.
He has sat on the table in his sack for a few days as I rested my back and took it easy (maybe this made the penguin mad he missed seeing the daylight and his other stamping friends).
Well as you can tell from my photos of late my trimmer has had major issues, (bet you thought I was distressing the edges, NOT)! So I finally called Fiskars today and they will be sending me some new rotary blades. After researching on the web I also found out (after five years of ownership) that you can rotate the block the blade cuts into so I did this as well. Now I have the problem of the paper going crooked or getting wavy, seems like it is not being held down tight enough. So my hubby checked this out when he got home and put some screws in the bottom to tighten things up, didn't work!
Now I am really frustrated because I also saw when I walked back to the table that the stickles had made my red marker bleed, ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! So I left everything on the table until I could collect myself and figure out how to fix the mess.

Okay, so in this card you can see the Real Red Bleeding on the fur of the Santa hat, yuck! This card is the first size I tried to fit the Amuse envies.

Here I had fun, sorry the photo stinks, but this was my first EVER 3" by 3" card, have no envies yet but did order some from Stampin Up!
Of course I had to use Green Galore, now I am Happy Again!

Whippersnapper 2

Okay, Okay I was a little key happy this am and did not finish my post before I hit the publish key so here are the remaining cards...

I kept the colors the same, Pink, Chocolate and So Saffron so I would not have to think as much and just concentrate on the coloring. I used a SU bg stamp with white ink, it showed up really good on the chocolate and well not so good on the other colors but it gave the cards a different dimension. Have a great day!

Whippersnapper

Thanks to the great Wish Raker's on SCS I have some wonderful fun new images to play with. Have to tell ya, I do not color well, I think my Art Teacher would have to send me back to school. I see so many cute cards out there colored so nicely mine just seem to fall flat. However, I did have a great time playing with this image yesterday and I have to say for my first time with an aqua painter I don't think I did so poorly. In fact when my DD saw the cards on the table she said they were the best cards she thought she had ever seen (Thanks)! Even my little DD said, "Mouse". Okay, here they are...

This card I colored the stamped image with the aqua painter and chalks, I let it dry and then placed microbeads on top. The punch on the side is Paper Piecing by SU in Chocolate and Pink. I made a pink tab and stamped Happy Birthday in Chocolate.

Beads and Paper

I so love working with micro beads and DP's, they have so many pretty patters out now. I was at Hobby Lobby over the weekend while papers were on sale, can't beat that deal. I purchased some from the Screen Door patterns, some floral, plaid, and stripes. After altering some picture frames I used the extra, already with adhesive on the back from the Xyron and made some Lip Balm and some pens. (See I learned from my previous adventure of using red line tape on the paper and for the beads, now I just use the tape to put on the beads and this saves me on tape and makes the cost lower as well. The little lady in the photo is my youngest DD at 18mo's, isn't she cute!

Reason to smile tent topper

Yesterday I couldn't function, hurt my back during the night and the meds I take make me really tired, so tired I did not even look at the computer 'til 9:00 p.m.. But here is a really fun card to make up for a no post Friday...

The DP's used are from Basic Gray, SU Real red and green galore. The butterfly has some bling on his body a floral brad and some rhinestones. To learn how to make a tent topper take this link and scroll down the page to post number 1. You can also check the gallery from here and see all the other tent topper cards people have uploaded.
Happy Saturday!

SC133-Snowflakes

I was inspired by my Sisters creation yesterday and the SC that I missed while I was on our trip. This is what I came up with...

I embossed a piece of brocade blue then used the tag punch on the corners then I brushed white over the snowflakes. Next I cut strips of white and bordering blue, I also ran two pieces of this through the embossing folder. The sentiment is from Penny Black and is stamped in Brocade. Punch out three word windows in brocade and attach to the cut pieces with a brad. Then all the strips were placed on the card and snowflake brads attached, I placed some bling in the center of each flake and in the corners of the card. Took some time but I love the look.

Happy Stamp Day!

I is always a Happy Stamp Day when my Sister comes to play! The card today is her design...
Blue paper (not Su) ran through the snowflake folder then dabbed with white ink. Next we punched a circle window that holds a snowflake brad (the brad was place on a 2 by 2 square of white behind the window, can't have ugly hardware showing on the inside of the card now can we.) The sentiment stamp is from Penny Black (I love it!) and it is stamped in black ink. She even had the idea to CB the envie as well, it looks really cool!
So thank you for a great day and some awesome cards. THANK YOU!
